I ordered my 16GB White at 2:19 a.m. (Central Time) 12:19 a.m. (Pacific) and got the confirmation email saying my order was taken and my credit card is pending the amount. My order still says "processing" with delivery 9/21. Should I be concerned since other's seem to be preparing?

i ordered at 3:20 and mine has changed to processing for shipping. Additionally I went in later and changed my shipping address...hopefully they ship to the new address
I would not be concerned, my 4S didn't say preparing for shipment until 3 or 4 days after I preordered, and I still received it on launch day. As long as your delivery date still says 9/21, you should be fine.
Ordered at 3:20 Am only because the website was giving me problems.. it took me 20 minutes just to get in..
Anyways it says preparing for shipment now. hopefully i get one.

I ordered a 64gb white. Just checked. It's at Preparing for Shipment, delivery still 9/21.
Ordered mine Friday @ 3:06 am est, literally was clicking refresh until it stopped saying "updating store", so I know I was literally one of the first to get through the process.

When becoming a new customer with Verizon through the apple store, would it tell me I need a deposit before checkout? I checked out just fine with no mention of a deposit, and just hoping the reason im being delayed is because of potential deposit.
I got this e-mail but my order had already switched to preparing for shipment before I got the e-mail.
Did your confirmation email quote a 9/21 date or did it get changed to that after the fact?
My confirmation email is at 3:54 am EST (so annoyed that it took that long, as I was trying since 2:55 am, but that's another topic for another thread) and I'm getting est delivery of Oct 5
(even though the order page on apple.com still said 9/21 when I placed the order). I'm hoping that there's still a chance that it'll get shipped for launch day. Also, why is it that there is nothing in between 9/21 and October? Seems like everyone's ship date is either launch day or October with nothing in between. Why isn't it just going to 9/24, 9/24, etc. Are they really going to go 2 weeks without shipping any more phones? I can't see that happening.
Yeah I ordered a white and it went to "preparing to ship" over night. The money was debited immediately from my account. But it took hours after for them to "Prepare to ship"
I am in the UK though , but it's probably just Apple processing payments one by one, they have a lot to do, some are automatic, and some due to payment plans are not.
I do not think anyone who has a 21st date will not get theirs on launch, everyone's phone will most likely go at the same time.
Took just under 5 mins to upgrade my two iphones. Both are 32gb. one black (order placed at 3:19am EST) and other one is white(order placed at 3:17am EST).
Now both of them says Preparing for Shipment ... Love the apple speed.. and loved the apple.com servers when i ordered them.

You are not alone. I ordered two 16GB Black ATT phones, one email confirmation at 12:18 the other at 12:25, both are still in the processing state and now have been switched to holiday shipping from standard shipping.
I wouldn't worry as long as your credit card did not reject the pending transaction. Perhaps we have ones that have not come off the assembly line yet and will be shipped directly from China.
Add me to the "holiday shipping" crowd lol. I guess it is appropriate, definitely feeling like a kid waiting for Christmas morning .
.This is what muffs me... When I went to order a 16gb white Verizon (switching from Sprint, as there are no plans to roll out LTE here within the next 2 years and Verizon already has a huge LTE footprint here) at around 12:50a PST, it said it would deliver 9/21.
Since I had to type a bunch of stuff in & give a blood sample to port my number, by the time I checked out, the delivery date read 10/5. And it didn't give me the opportunity to add AppleCare+ to my order throughout the whole process.
Then I tried to figure out a way to order the spouse's 32gb black Verizon, but since this is a whole new contract, Verizon doesn't think I am a customer yet because I guess that happens when I receive the phone. Nothing sent to me by Verizon saying "here is your account number" and all that. So I get to pay Sprint another few weeks for their turtle data.
So I'm assuming I will have to go to the Apple retail store this Friday and hope there is a 16gb white Verizon so I can cancel that order, plus hopefully get my husband's phone. If not, then everything will have to wait until October after I get first order.
Just a mild self pity vent.

Don't worry, this is normal.
When I pre-ordered the 4s mine was processing until Monday, the prepared for shipment on Tuesday, then said shipped Wednesday, then Friday at about noon I had my 4s before most of the line waiters
If you are already sitting at "processing" on the order page you should be good to go, I've NEVER had an issue when I was at that point in my order with Apple.
My order was placed at 6am EST. Figured 3 hours wouldn't hurt. My AT&T Black 32gb iPhone 5 still shows delivery October 5th. I linked through the Bill Me Later site to get the 2% cash back.
