I ordered mine at 3:25am EST and now shipping just switched from "Standard Shipping" to "Holiday Shipping". Still delivering on 9/21.

Anyone else have this?

Anyone preordered from the SG online store? For those who did, has your order changed to preparing for shipment? Mine is still in the processing stage.

One more thing, since SG's timezone is almost a day advanced, does this mean that we would be getting our units ahead of the others?

Anyone with the Prepared For Shipment Status still have Standard Delivery? I know the delivery date is still 9/21 on both my orders ( Ordered at 12:15am PST ) but wondering if everyone is being switched to Holiday Shipping or not.

I think you meant to say you ordered at 12:15 PDT. Not PST. PST is for the winter months.

EDIT: After looking through this thread, apparently no one knows that we are in daylight time right now!

I wish I knew. I mean this is a holiday to some, that's why I'm curious if anyone else has this shipping type.

Lots of people are seeing holiday shipping right now. So don't worry as far as your delivery date is still Sept 21 you will get it.

I trust apple for that.

I have read others who have posted that "Holiday Shipping" means express delivery and also notifies the facility to hold the shipment until 9/21. I have "Holiday Shipping" on my 16GB Black ATT iPhone 5 and it is still under the "Processing" stage. The charge on my credit card is pending also.

Don't worry. I think that we will be fine. :)

I wish mine would go Preparing for Shipment already so I don't accidentally hit cancel. :D :p

I don't think it have anything to do with Rural area.

my one order which is preparing to ship right now has Standard shipment and
my second order which is still processing has holiday shipment right now

Both are coming to same address in my City and UPS and Fedex hubs are right next door to my home...

But i hope holiday shipment means express shipment.

Maybe, I don't know. It surely means something to FedEx or UPS but in the end it doesn't matter if we get ours via express, standard or holiday shipping as long as we get our hands on it on Sept 21st. :)

When did you place your 2nd order? Immediately after the 1st or later?

Anyone still stuck in processing with me for 9/21? --verizon @2:19central

Haha I was just thinking that yesterday, that's why I was happy to see it preparing for shipment today so I don't accidentally do anything dumb.

I have 3 phones on apple.com

2x 16gb phones are prep for shipment deliver 21st
And 1x 32gb that is still processing (this one is mine...) delivers 21st

I think apple has a stock of iPhones. There are 3 memory variation and at least 3 vendor models, and two colors, a total of at least 18 model numbers. Supply and demand is not the same for each, so there is some differences in availability and ship dates.

So those phones preparing to ship are probably in country/warehouse and just need to be delivered to the shipper (FEDEX or UPS) in time for their standard shipping guarantee for 21 Sept.

Those that have changed from standard to holiday shipping are phones that are in the build and packing process somewhere, but won't be finished in time to make the standard shipping cutoff for 21 Sept, so they to go "holiday" which may also mean a 7 day a week pickup and express.

Next you may be seeing more ship method changes for phones that will miss the holiday cut off, and finally there may be some 1 day deliveries.

Then there will be a gap of delivery dates as they go back to standard shipping.

This is the most logical post I have read in 2 LONG days!

What is holiday shipping... What holiday am I missing ?

Apple iPhone Launch Day. It's a movable feast, usually occurring on a Friday in early fall, often celebrated by waiting in long lines with large crowds of tourists. :D

I have two orders in place. My AT&T order is stuck in "Premier" customer limbo, but my Apple.com order is preparing for shipment and should be in my hands by Friday when I get home from the office. :)

Mine has changed to holiday shipping, but still says processing with 9/21 as delivery date. Black 16gb AT&T
