No. Verizon orders will not see shipping notices until next week, Tuesday at the earliest. Since they are going to a central hub and then out the customers but the tracking info will not go out until phones are already in the states.
Ok, my shipping changed from Standard shipping to Holiday shipping and still says Processing Items. Confirmation email sent at 2:08am CST 14-Sep-12. Can someone tell me what "Holiday Shipping" means?
It's kinda express delivery with extra priority to make sure that you'll hold your iPhone on 21/9 in your hands. Probably you live in a rural area.

Ouch. I wouldn't be sad, I would be pissed. One of the first to pre-order and you get bumped to 10/5?
I do... Ordered a verizon 16 gb black iPhone 5 at 3:31 am from the Apple Store app and it has been "prepared for shipment" since late last night.

Hadn't it already said it slipped to two weeks shipping at that point? I ordered the exact same phone about five minutes earlier than that and have a delivery of Oct 5th. If this is true, it gives me hope it'll arrive a lot sooner than then and possibly on Friday.
I preordered mine from verizon but my delivery date is the 28th
Will they actually have any phones on launch day. Or will they just be taking orders?
anyway if they do you might need to get there early before they sell out.

I kinda wanna see proof of your time. That is mind boggling to me if that is true.
Mine's awaiting action.....I had a PO box, which I promptly called and changed. Then I got an email saying they can't ship to a PO box, I reminded them that I had already called and changed it, and the order showed the correct address already. Now again, it says the correct address but still awaiting action. When I called, the Apple rep said it would not delay my shipping. Starting to worry about that.
Used Apple Store app. Started order at 11:58pm PT, finished at 12:01am PT.

I don't think it have anything to do with Rural area.
my one order which is preparing to ship right now has Standard shipment and
my second order which is still processing has holiday shipment right now
Both are coming to same address in my City and UPS and Fedex hubs are right next door to my home...
But i hope holiday shipment means express shipment.
I don't think there's any way that's accurate. Mine has shown delivers 9/21 since I placed the order at around 3:15am EST. As far as I know, despite all the iPad 3rd gen panic about delivery dates, Apple was true to the delivery date listed on the customer's order page. This is just another shard off the rumor mill.
my 32GB preparing to ship still has standard delivery
and my 16 GB still processing has Holiday delivery now.
But both delivery date is still Sept 21. So i don't mind it.
We would need some confirmation on that (like a few more people getting the same message.) Plus can you imagine the image problem for apple if the pushed all the shipping dates.

Mine switched to "Prepared for shipment" last night. Still says Standard Shipping date for 9/21
I think he meant you ordered from verizon. Only people that ordered from apple (regardless of carrier) would start seeing tracking data.
