Pre-ordered my white 32gb at 3:25am ET day of launch, and everything went fine. Got an email an hour ago saying my order was canceled because of a problem on AT&Ts side. After getting transferred back and forth from both Apple and AT&T, I was told that Apple's website enabling customers to select "invalid" data plans, and when AT&T goes it process it, it gets rejected. Not sure what they're talking about. I just selected my name phone plan and grandfathered Unlimitied Data. The email from Apple said to reorder it and they would "process it as quickly as possibly." I highly doubt I'll still get a phone on launch day now. Though I'll probably just try and pick one up from the store. So annoying!

Hmm...that is scary. Were you eligible for upgrade? They better not try to pull that same sheet with my order.

We noticed you weren't given the opportunity to add AppleCare+ to your iPhone. If you would like to extend your coverage for only $99, please reply to this email by September 21st.

Did anyone ever think to call apple about the holiday shipping and ask them what its about instead of trying to guess. i have it also order is still processing but im not worried my date still says 9/21

"Holiday Shipping is used with orders that will be delivered on a Saturday or Sunday. - Jeff with Apple Support"
 
What was the status of your order prior to it being cancelled? In process or preparing for shipment?

Last time I checked it was being processed.

Just got off the phone with Apple again and they said this is actually a common issue with AT&T customers, as it is a problem in their system that tells Apple to automatically cancel the order, and they are unable to reinstate a previously cancelled order.
 
Mind if i ask how you went about getting the upgrade fee waived? I'm on AT&T and 3 of our lines got upgraded so we have to pay over $100 in upgrade fees. It'd be great if i could avoid that:D

I called billing and told them that I purchased an iPhone though Apple.com and asked the rep if she could be kind enough to remove the upgrade fee for me.
She said let me check your account. I told her that her voice is cute. She immeditaly waived it.

Same here, I am partially eligible, and my 16gb is $449

Hi my order went through right at 12:00am (through ipad apple app) got the conf. email right after...and then this morning the applecare+ email. Mine still says processing and delivered on 9/21. Called at&t to see if everything went through correctly on their side. She said my order may be cancelled because I used my debit card(which can be used as credit) instead of an actual credit card!! Wth? Has anyone heard this? She said her supervisor said they were NOT ALLOWED to sell a pre-order to anyone trying to purchase with a debit card. She said that was the rule across the board when pre-ordering the new iphone. I did not know about this...hopefully my order still goes through!
 
CHeck Upgrade STatus again for AT&T

I just checked my upgrade eligibility status again on AT&T and it has changed from full discount originally dates 5/8/2013 to 4/15/2014, so they must be processing something over there, because that just pushed me out another 16-18 months before I can receive a full discount again. My status is still showing Processing, Holiday Shipping 9/21:apple:

We recently told you about Apple’s free shipping holiday promotion for its online store. Any order placed through December 22nd will be shipped for free, including orders that are under $50.

Apple has added another perk to its promotion by offering 2-3 business day delivery for free. This means that online orders will be shipped much faster throughout the holidays.

all holiday shipping means is its going to ship later but faster than standard if you have standard it will probably ship out monday the people with holiday shipping might ship out wednesday everyone that has a 9/21 date on their order doesnt matter what shipping method your still going to get it on friday

Depends on the Apple rep. When I preordered my iPad 2 the order was canceled by mistake and they placed a new order for me with my original delivery date. Everything depends on the rep you get.
 
I just got off the phone with Apple, and the woman pulled my order up and told me that she didn't know exactly what holiday shipping is, but it seems to be some kind of faster shipping method to ensure I get it on the 21st. She then proceeded to tell me that everything on my order looks good and she did not see any problems with the order.

I'm with AT&T and just checked my upgrade eligibility, it shows 2014 so I know my order is processed. Still says Preparing for Shipment with a delivery date of Sept 21, Standard Shipping. My Discover card account shows the payment as processing. I know that's because they don't actually bill you until they ship. Some people become confused when they see a charge on their card that later disappears. I think that happens because when you first place the order they verify that you have the funds on the card you used.

What AT&T told doesn't make sense, if you purchased directly from Apple, which you said you did. The card/payment is processed by Apple, not AT&T.
 
Yeah, I just received a couple emails from ATT that confirms recent activity but doesn't tell what it was, and I can't seem to tell when I log into the ATT site, but I suspect its the new 2 year term added onto my grandfathered unlimited plans... .
