whats your batch? mine is 1612 and I ordered at the same time as you but still backordered...
How can you tell what batch your phone is and all that. Mine says that it left Georgia at 7:00 am today. Well it be delivered to San Diego CA by tomorrow?
The dates Apple is giving out seem to be worst case estimates. Mine shipped on 9/22. Apple predicted a delivery of 9/28 but based upon tracking info from UPS it appears to be on tract to arrive 2 days early.
UPS (and FedEx as well) is incredibly efficient. I frequently get shipments early.
So be positive. My guess is you will have it 2 days early, with 1 day early as the worst case scenario.
Check your tracking every morning. It will show "out for delivery" the day it will be delivered.
Yep, mine went threw Korea, and has now departed Anchorage, Alaska. It's almost home.

mine just landed in Louisville,KY from Anchorage,Alaska. So mine has a ways to go before it reaches me in Mass
Also in MA. Same story AK to KY. Should we catch it on the way? I never order online from Apple again. I ordered mine 4:15 am when woke up to work. Now the have them in stock some places. You can order it online and pick up in the store. Going to return my phones , order them online and pick up in NH. The only problem is Att contract system contract update , how fast is it?
I'm sorry to hear that! Mine made it to Hong Kong last night, and has already departed - headed to who knows where? I'm guessing Alaska?
Hopefully UPS is just slow in updating your info.
Actually - I just signed up for text alerts from UPS - and guess what - got a text saying my phone is in Transit: Louisville KY...
If you are obsessive like me, I sugguest signing up for the text alerts - seems to be a bit faster updating...
Use packagemapping.com or iShip.com to see destination info details. The UPS site filters out some of the status changes where these sites do not. Text alerts are not that reliable, wasn't working last week.

I just signed up for this too. My wife and I are preordered ours about 4:15 EST on the 14th and were a little irritated when we received info ours would deliver around the 5th of October. Glad to see ours shipped on Friday the 21st and currently in Louisville as of late last night.
My wife and I were both keeping track of the UPS flight over from Korea to Anchorage and then to Louisville. Was hoping to see it somehow get on the truck to deliver during the night as we are in Virginia, but will still be happy with being delivered on Wednesday.
Mine still says:
"A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated."
Been like that since Saturday the 22nd
I've ordered dozens of items from apple and others and the only time I've received something early is by the USPS. You may find your phone hanging out in Louisville for a couple days waiting for a flight.. or on the back of a cross country truck.
Then again you could be lucky. I would use the UPS scheduled delivery date if it is different than Apple's.

Completed the order at 12:58am PDT, received notice that the phone would be delivered October 5.
Got notification from Apple on Saturday that my iPhone was finally shipping, with an approximate delivery date of Friday the 28th. It flew from China to Korea, to Anchorage, to Kentucky (!), and this morning, I get word that it's being delivered today. Yes, today, Sept. 25th.
How did I get this word? By chatting with UPS three times in the last two day. Yes, I signed up for text notifications, but I haven't gotten a one. It's ridiculous.
So I'm sticking close to home today! Can't wait.
UPDATE: So, I happened to look at the UPS site, and it had a delivery date of Thursday. I panicked, I admit it, so I started another chat session. This time, she told me that it would be delivered tomorrow (Wednesday). I asked why I was told today, and why it says Thursday on the site. She took a while checking, and then came back and said, yes, it would be delivered Thursday! WTF?! I'm less than impressed. I'm pissed.

Just saw it left China @ 5:16 CST and arrived at Korea @ 8:30 CST. How many stops would it have to make? Alaska -> US -> Canada???
