Apple.com Preorder Status Thread (merged)

It just seems logical that those first on preparing to ship should be first to be scanned into the UPS system, or whatever courier they use. But apparently not :(

Depend on the assembly line. Not like all the phones are being built on the same assembly line and will be processed in the exact order they where placed. With that being said, the phone will still be delivered on time.
 
Both of mine shipped :D Status is arrived in Zengzhou China.

Also, are the tracking numbers printed on the boxes? I need to know because I am getting one and my brother is getting one and they are shipped to the same name and we want to make sure we open the right one...
 
For those that are starting to post that it is shipping now for your order. Can you also post where you ordered from and what time, and time zone?

Edit: I just want to compare it to my order and get an idea of whose are being processed and from where.
 
I've read a bunch of previous pages but nothing is working for me via UPS. My order has been preparing for shipment for almost 24 hours so I don't think that is the problem.

Problem is that I ordered via someone else's backup line that I plan on activating on their line and then deactivating and then finally activating it on my line (which is on a different Verizon account)

So there are like 4 possible phone numbers I could be putting it. My personal line, the line I upgraded, or the line of the account holder who's upgrade I used.
Ugh. Lol.

Why do you even have to activate it on their line? I called Verizon over and over about this and they said just receive the phone and call us and we'll move it to your account without it ever being activated on the other persons account.

I'm pretty sure you need to use the phone number on the billing address to track.
 
16gb Black AT&T, ordered 12:09am Pacific, says prepping for shipment. UPS reference does not yield anything.

I just remember with the iPhone 4 upgrade I had to first activate it with the line I ordered it for. I hope this step isn't necessary anymore.

So if we are going by billing then to clarify I would just use the phone number I put with my payment information? Because that is different than the billing information on the account.
 
Just went through a strange process of having to call in to Apple to activate my new line for the phone I ordered because of a problem on AT&Ts side. I actually had the Apple rep and AT&T rep on a conference call at one time to verify my personal info. In the end my new line was activated. I'm hoping this means it will show up in UPS tracking soon.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I guess since my order wen to Prepare to Ship yesterday early evening, it doesn't show up. What's really strange is that my soon to be abandoned iPhone 4 didn't show up on the list.

I had to do this vary thing with AT&T this morning. Apple had a problem adding a new line for my phone so we had to call AT&T together to have them activate the line.
 
I ordered a 64gb black/slate at 3:25am ET.

According to the UPS Reference mine has shipped.

If you have multiple shipments, will it show both when you track? I ordered mine and my husband's in two different orders and only one tracking info is showing in UPS but they would both be under my phone number. His went to Preparing for Shipment faster than mine so I assume this is for his phone (AT&T 32GB Black):

My order status changed to "Preparing for Shipment" yesterday and UPS is now showing it was shipped today. It's in Zhengsomething, China. Expected delivery is Friday.
