This is weird:

I just got off the phone with Apple, and they told me that the watches are basically already at the regional shipping centers, and people who live closer to those shipping centers still have the "processing" status because it will be quickly shipped once they are ready to send them out. I'm like, "yeah ok". When I get off the phone I noticed that there is a charge on my account for $69.00 "Apple Care" Now this is very strange.

I thought the apple care for the watch was $49, and the $69 was per incident charge.

I really that is the case and im just close to a shipping center. Guess i'll try to not worry about it and do some homework.

Something IS different. The amount of configurations. Some are more popular and/or have less supply than others.

What is interesting is that it seems that that backlog is clearing up in June. I think there were only a couple variations that ship in July if you order today. Even the sport space gray.

So my guess is that have lots of the innards built and in process, and now that they have orders for the variations, they are cranking up on the different case and strap variations. No one wants to be stuck with 100,000 pink straps in inventory ;)

I think also what is different in the configuration is that for the iphone configurations people may have been more willing to compromise (e.g. I wanted to buy a 64g, space gray, but I can get a 128k silver today and that is okay since I am putting a case on it anyway).

I thought the apple care for the watch was $49, and the $69 was per incident charge.

Nope the applecare is $49 for the sport addition, $69 for stainless steel and like $1000 for the gold.

When i went to the apple store they said the fix fee would be dependent on what the problem is.

Mine just updated about an hour ago. 42mm SS w/ black sport band and apple pay was also deducted. I'm located in the Bay Area, ca. Ordered right at midnight, email conf @ 12:02am

----------

nope i haven't seen any waiting on mine as well

Mine has

I ordered a 38mm Sports with blue band at 12:02a.m. pacific and then a 38mm Space Grey with black band at 12:03 a.m., got receipts from Apple for both at a 12:04a.m. status. The blue said 24th-8th and the black 13th-27th.

The blue changed to "waiting for shipping" yesterday and the black still says processing.

That's where I am at and I'm in Arizona and used Apple Pay on my iPhone 6.

Are people in that 4/24-5/8 getting their watches on 4/24?
Yes.
So for the others, they are feeling entitled and hurt that theirs isn't showing up...."but I haven't gotten the prepared for shipment yet!"...uh yeah, it isn't even the 24th and there is still TWO weeks after that to be in the shipping window.
That is entitlement.

Did some people who placed their order right away "felt" that they should have it on the 4/24 launch because they were quick to order? Those that did are demonstrating entitlement.

Were people unable to cancel their order after they got the shipping estimate?
Yes.
There is no deception, just entitlement. I mean it isn't as if this is the first time in history that a hot product sold out quickly.

Don't take it as an insult. Just recognize it for what it is.

This is nothing compared to the ultra high volume of orders Apple handles with iPhone launches. Apple is very good at this, things go very fast three days before the official roll out date.

Mines ready. Charged to my card, status preparing for shipment.

Often it arrives in my State of CA. the day before launch, is held, then shipped the last few miles to me on launch day. My products have arrived before 10AM on launch day, without fail for the last five years.

If for some reason it doesn't this time, it's no big deal.

Even Apples not perfect. It's just stuff that goes obsolete anyway... :)

Just went to preparing to ship

Ordered at 3:03A (Eastern) US on the 10th and just went to 'preparing to ship' also $ taken out

you fail to address my point on this.

"was told one thing, and get something else is not entitlement.
it is called being deceived, in some cases that counts as false advertising."

if they were clear to us about the estimated ship date PRIOR, and we still complain? then yes that's entitlement.

still a baseless insult.

Processing!!

My 42MM SS still in processing!! I really look forward to receiving the watch, but I am being patient in this process! :)

Be careful guys, this is the time where outside influence can get you upset pretty quickly. I noticed some of the people who posted here never intended to purchase Apple Watch (probably from Samsung camp too) who would be more than happy to add fire on the situation. Just be cautious when you reading the posts, some of them need to be taken extra lightly. ;)

I addressed it.
Are you saying that NO ONE is getting a watch on launch day?

It is available on the 24th. Just not to everyone in the world who orders. Only entitled people would be upset about that.

Do you not understand that your order is NOT final until you know, you actually complete the order?

Or did you expect that you can login and 12PST, see something is available, then you can take your sweet time ordering it, maybe grab a cup of coffee while you are checking your bank balance, watching a couple more watch videos and then when you are finally ready to complete the order, the same availability will still be there?

If you expect that you have feelings of entitlement.

You also might want to actually check what the meaning of "false advertising" is before you throw that phrase around.

Same watch and order time. But mine is still processing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an entitled, self-centred first world society. Suddenly your favourite company is (temporarily) your "enemy", just because your new toy couldn't be delivered as soon as you'd worked yourself up into thinking. Folks like you are as changeable as the wind, double minded, frustrated and confused from folly of your own making.

Such a stupid consumer culture, and I bet the majority of you won't even work out the BASIC FUNCTIONS for well over a month, you just want one JUST because all your peers have one.

Get over yourselves and stop throwing attention seeking public displays of show-boated tantrums, like ANYONE cares.

My mistake is fumbling with gift cards at 3am causing my date to go from 4/24- to JUNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never again. 42mm Sport space gray, like millions of others:(

We know we all love the waiting and excitement and once the watch arrives and we play with it, its all over.

Sorry to inform everyone who purchased the larger SS with Black Sport Band. I just confirmed that a plane with 100,000 of them just went down in a Louisiana swamp. Just great
