She isn't that's for sure, but as head of Retail (which is where the products are sold) someone has to take the blame, and it's easy to pin it on the new person.

A botched Watch launch it appears and 4-6 week shipping window on the MacBook .... Someone isn't doing their job with these last two launches.

Nothing like having two new products that people can't get their hands on. My :apple: stock should be soaring.

If they canned Forestall over the Map glitch ( I know he was a pain within Apple, but he produced and was there a long time) I fear some head is gonna roll on this botched launch. Angela is the new blood, so she is the prime target - right or not. But she is in charge of retail and that's where the screw up lies. And at a salary plus stock option that's more in a single month than we make in a life time, repos nobility needs to be taken. I wonder how apple is handling this, because one thing is sure - this launch is bad.

This is by far the most misleading email of the 21st century.

Apple has been using this form email for years and it has never bern a problem until now. Ive gotten this email on multiple occasions and every time I did my order arrived on the launch date.

Everyone chill and pull out your iphones....It's a superior device to the watch anyway.;)

This email was just a another indication at how awful this preorder has been. They need a complete overhaul of customer service and shipping in order.

Yeah right because exceeding even the wildest expectations of everyone is such a bad place to be in.

Botched!

This has to be the worse launch ever in Apples history. Poor forecasting that can't even cover the first 15 minutes of pre-orders. Misleading and rambling videos and emails. This isn't :apple:.

What happened to the good old days.

Yup

I got this email too. I can't even stand it. Wives iPhone will be here on Friday and mine of course will not be here. Can you say devorce

I feel your pain and have listened to exactly the same complaints BUT...

1) The watch AND its plethora of accessories is a completely different animal. In-store sales would have been a physical nightmare - and I'm talking for us line waiters.

2) With different sizes, colors and people preferences then showing people how it works would have created a realitive "in store" fiasco. Think about it.

3) My guess is that the preorder system they chose is more about seeing what versions are most popular - I know sucks for us but as a stockholder - smart of Apple to not create a failed product. My guess is they learned a lot from the 5c launch..

4). Think of the processing, distribution, and finally shipping of so many choices. I'm certain this is a MASSIVE undertaking and of course - of course at first it won't go smoothly. Duh. C'mon.

5) They are NOT launching ONE product - technically speaking so some perspective is needed. This is by far the most complicated product launch in Apple history - because of so many variants coupled with the different sizes of the watch AND bands..

Relax and breath. We will all survive

These are all excellent points and I completely agree. That said, the email was definitely a miss. I guess it's point was to just say, "Relax, we promised by the 8th, you'll get it by the 8th," but something with more clarity and more personal sounding could have gone a long way. Felt a little tone deaf to me.

Hey they bragged about the new customer experience. They knew ther would be a Hugh demand. I ordered within 3 minutes of the launch ( and that a t midnight) and it's sold out for launch day?

Wait a minute. Maps was the final straw. That, and Ive and Mansfield hated working with Forstall and refused to sit in on meetings Forstall attended.

Remember before Forstall got fired we started hearing all the rumors about Ive possibly moving back to the UK?

Forstall apparently was such a PITA the stories leaked out there was cheering and applause within Apple when he got the boot.

He's directly responsible for letting iOS stagnate and Android to catch up, and pass up iOS on features.

Are you in processing, or preparing for shipment?

Preparing for shipment, my card was finally charged between5-6pm CST tonight and my status changed immediately.

It sucks that I woke up at 3am est to order this watch...getting an order confirmation email at 3:04 and now seeing tons of people who ordered way after me get their watch shipped out first. It sucks that apple is seemingly punishing me for spending more money with them (went with SS with BSB as well as a separate Milanese over Sport)

My Situation

Hey guys this is my first post to the forums, I ordered a 42mm White sport and a 42mm Space Gray sport, my order went through at 2:15am (central time). I got the May 13th-27th, but just this afternoon I was charged for the white sport band and am now in "preparing to ship" and I have not received this email. I cant believe some people with the 4/24-5/8 are still in processing?? Thoughts?

I'm patient but how this launch went is a steaming pile of crap.

EPIC FAIL! Not just in the mistake but they had to have know there were issues a long time before the launch. They chose to wait until the last possible moment to say "oops delays" all to save their "numbers"

Part of why I like Apple is how they treat their customers well. This ain't it. Tim, you obviously are having issues holding the reigns.

Next time I'm not staying up until 3am.

I have a feeling the entire Apple Watch rollout launch is going to end up being one helluva PR fiasco. I also have a feeling what's-her-name from Burberry will be the first head to roll.

Second fiasco will be 2 years from now, when all the 1st Generation Apple Watches will be made obsolete by software and hardware requirements in 2017.

The two week window is by the 8th. Hey are letting people know it could come sooner if ramp up improves.

How long will Angela last is the question haha no but really heads should be rolling after this disastrous launch

Angela's part in this will become apparent at Apple Stores come Friday. You can't blame someone who is responsible for retail on a supply chain issue.

I would assume the reason everyone got the "We're working on it" email is due to the excessive call volume surrounding the dates. Yes, they only provided date ranges so no one was promised the would have it day one. Does that suck? Yeah, kinda. I placed my order for a Stainless 42mm with Link band at 2:01am. The Apple Store App came up for a second, I placed my order, then as soon as the order completed it went down again and I was given the "store will be back soon" message. I got my email confirmation and the date was May 13th-27th. I was a little disappointed by that. Well I was just charged for the watch tonight so there is hope for everyone. Just chill out, there are way bigger things to worry about.

Oh, ye, and I didn't get a "comfort email", Guess I'm a red headed step child too :p
