If Apple needed a tool, all it had to do was take a cursory glance on this forum; there's lots to choose from.

I guess I just don't understand what the big fuss is. So you don't like U2 then don't listen to the tracks. I have feel Apple thought they were doing something nice but in the end bunch of whiny folks are making it sound like its the worst thing Apple has ever done.

I just don't get it.

Whiny, "entitled" people who have aspects of their personalities and/or lives which they don't like but haven't yet dealt with, often react in this silly, juvenile manner. I pity people with no meaning or focus big enough in their life to channel their precious gift of a life into, to distract them from such non-issues as this. I also pray these same people never have REAL problems, but if they do, I'm sure it will work out for the best, helping them to re-focus their hearts on what actually matters.

Why get mad? It should be irrelevant if you don't like this music. Ignore it and the 'problem' goes away on October 13th. If it happened to download automatically, what exactly have you lost? If Kim Kardashian had the same deal with Apple, people would find it hilarious and probably make her the fastest selling artist of all time. Get mad? Relax, enjoy the music or do some yoga.

I'm not mad about it. I'm just saying that some people are since it was added to their accounts without permission. If the music choice was changed to something people love to hate, then the people on here probably wouldn't be saying they're ungrateful.

Wow. People are really this ungrateful.

Look at it this way...

What if you and a VEGAN friend went into a restaurant to grab lunch and that day, they just HAPPEN to be giving way free samples of there new MINI CHEESBURGER Sliders.

The waiter comes by and says, "Hi guys! Here are your free MINI CHEESEBURGERS! Today they are on the house! " If you like MINI CHEESEBURGERS, you're gonna look like this...

But your Vegan friend is gonna look like this....

Just because something is popular, liked by most people and given away for free does NOT mean that everyone is going appreciate or value the gesture, no matter how we'll intended. Expressing that you're uncomfortable with getting something sent your way that you never wanted, nor never asked for does not make you ungrateful.

I don't know what kind of friends you choose to have, but my friends would say "That's extremely kind of you, but no thank you" - not express some ungrateful, "offended" body language.

Would you throw a hissy fit if the Beatles were added to your list of purchases for free?

I didn't throw a "hissy fit" when I received access to the new U2 album for free.

I wouldn't throw a "hissy fit" if I received free Beatles music in my list of purchases.

My post was a direct response to the person assuming that just because a person may not be a fan of U2's music, that "there is something wrong with them."

I am not a fan of U2, and deleted the album.
On the other hand, it did not ruin my day that it was in my account.
I have bigger things to be worried about, and I appreciate the gesture just the same.

Why is the fat guy the vegan?

I don't think I would care but if I did, I would want the option to delete it if I so chose, not needing Apple to send a "tool" to delete it. That's the problem.

But you really don't!

That's why this is so senseless!

If you don't want the music taking up any of your storage space, you could always delete the tracks any time. All that's left is the cloud-based listing showing you're entitled to re-download them, if you choose. (Well, unless you're one of those people who left the OPTION on to auto-download all purchased music. But hey, here's an example of why you might want to turn that off!)

I wish they would let me do this with other music. My sister bought a lot of cRAP and I want it out of my account forever!!!!!!!

I guess all the people in here whining that it is fine did not have the album automatically down on to their phone taking up the entirety of the remaining space on the flash drive and brick their phone since the operating system could not write to the drive.

Which is great when all my RSA/two factor authentication applications are on there that are needed on a daily basis.

A new iPhone 6 will not be my next purchase.

To be honest I would not care. I just wouldn't listen to the track.

Yep, point is. I suspect lots more would be even more unhappy. Could you imagine a free Gangsta Rap track, (clean one), there’d be plenty of people up in arms.

What’s telling is that they even had to make a tool in the first place.
First it shows the uproar and second a “tool", really?

Good for you..bye Mr. BS.

im confident this has nothing to do with who does and does not like u2. Its about whiney little bitches that can't accept a good thing at face value and instead find everything on earth to complain about. If i was apple and i got a reaction like this from something i gave away free i would max out your phones memory with dumb cat videos and anything else i damn well pleased just to spite you. Jesus. A bunch of ungrateful ppl is all this is about. If you think apple "imposed on your rights" then you should go talk to your representative. Other wise just shut it. I'm sick of this and i feel for apple having to waste some poor guys/girls time coming up with a useless 'tool' so you can have you whiney way.

Imagine if santa clause had to do this **** every christmas.

O

+1

The only people who have a legitimate complaint IMO are the shareholders. What a waste of $100 million. Whoever thought that this was a good idea clearly is out of touch and should be fired.

What are you talking about? No one spent $100mil?

Rumored Apple paid U2 $100m. Rumor though.. everyone knows records sales don't make as much money as touring. Even the best of times in the music industry 80-90s. I don't know if any Artists made $100m from one album (sales alone).
