Coca-Cola Limited Edition will be next. Who said Apple can’t innovate...? Just remember not to open the box, that will ruin the value!!!
Oh I ALWAYS open the box. Play play play. Wear wear wear. Life’s too short and otherwise dull to not open the box! :D

I invest in boring things that won’t tempt me to meddle with them before they reach full value.

New Beats styles are quickly becoming the new Watch bands: "Why are Apple's engineers designing Mickey Mouse wraps instead of working on resolving thermal issues with the overlapping inductive coils in AirPower!"

You really think that a company with 160K+ employee is devoting all of it's engineering power to a single headphone?

You’re in the minority. Apple has many more customers than in your supposed “golden years.”
Not necessarily.

here is why - if MacOS, Mac hardware etc. gets neglected to a bad point it will backfire because what is great about Apple is not the iPhone on its own but also the eco-system that goes with it. Kill everything else and iPhone will die (well, not die but the customer base will shrink a lot). So its in Apple's interest to develop everything and maintaining it. Otherwise there will be massive exodus of customers & pros and I don't even wanna talk about the negative news that it will generate so I think that could pretty much tarnish Apple's reputation for a long time.

I'm sure Apple knows that but they are taking their sweet time to "fix" it.

Here is hoping for an "emergency" refresh soon and then proper maintenance of those refreshes.

People don't buy iPhones or iPads because of some sort of "mac halo effect." Most iOS device users do not own Macs, and Macs are not an important part of the "ecosystem" from the perspective of the average iPhone user. There would be no "massive exodus of customers" if Apple stopped selling macs today.

You are talking about a leaving an ecosystem where your privacy is protected to one where there is no privacy. Indeed, it is all designed to gather every private fact about you to use for commercial interests and is de facto available to any government, intel group or hackers. That's spiting your face to be sure.

I think I am talking about getting a different, better, cheaper product from a company that isn't so political, and doesn't take its supporters for granted. You can stick with them. I love my Apple stuff (Except Apple TV), and never thought I would say this. Currently have MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, iPhone 8+, and iPad Air 2. I may change my mind once reality hits me, but that is the future plan. I guess I need to remove my nose ;).

If you are so concerned about privacy, and understand why you would be, then go with OpenBSD if that is the highest thing on your list.

"so political" really means "has politics I disagree with."

I'm in cupertino right now. Mr. Cook says "bye."

Watch yourself on the dark side. Good luck.

1. Nope. Companies should stay out of politics no matter what side of the fence the CEO is on. His personal view would be okay, but when they start getting the company involved then that is going too far. Why did you choose the "politics" to point out, and not the pricing, ignoring their customer,s innovation, and other things I have brought up on this topic?

2. Sorry, hopefully you can move soon.

3. Tell him "Later Cook". Like I said though, if they start being a great company again, then I am willing to stick around. Apple has started to think we need them more then they need us.

You clearly missed the fact that I was making fun of people who say this. I even put it in quotes to indicate that I'm not the one saying it. Furthermore, it's obvious that it's a joke because engineers don't design wraps for headphones, lol. Graphic designers do.

I swear I can make the most obvious joke on these forums and still need to /s the end of it.

Didn't you hear? Supreme Court says companies are people.

California is the greatest state in the land, and Apple is by far the greatest company,

You would be surprised. Domino effects would work here also.

these are hideous. I can't imagine wearing these in public. for that money spend the extra $20 and get QC35's. Way better than beats.

Love them. Big Disney fan here... we have annual passes. Just did the Not So Scary Halloween Party on Sunday!

Yea, I just got back from a week long Disney trip (and much poorer after). People are INSANE about dressing up for a trip to their theme parks. $300+ for headphones? I can see people with disposable income buying these JUST to wear at the park.

Why is it surprising? If I am willing to visit a Disney-themed park, then by definition, I am likely quite enthusiastic about the whole franchise to begin with and thus more willing to immerse myself in the culture overall. It’s pretty self-selecting in that sense.

Beats is a strong brand, you act like it's something Apple needs to get rid off but that's not their strategy. They've actually incorporated the brand as part of the Apple family, with the Beats branding surviving into Apple's music streaming service as well.

Hasn't that worked out so well? Apple went from being the digital music hegemon, to back of the pack. With non-existent to atrocious music suggestion and exploration, horrible UI for years now that changes every release and only seems to get worse. Beats radio Oh my! Look if you like hip-hop and rap I guess Apple music is ok. But for literally every other kind of music its Spotify.

I loved iTunes back in the day. I used to love going through and putting album cover art on my songs, the interface was clean and FUN. It really felt like a collection of music. I don't get that with iTunes today, but I sure as hell do with Spotify.

Yeah I’m sure Apple consider themselves to be back of that pack to a company that has never and doesn’t look like it will turn a profit anytime soon.
People need to realise Apple is a business and their number 1 aim is making money.

This is interesting. If you have not been to Disney world it’s basically run on iPads. Not to mention Disney peddles custom cases for iPhone along with other phones.
When I bought my niece a case I asked which sold more iPhone or non-iPhone cases. The person said iPhone by a significant amount.
I am waiting for the watch to be an alternative to the magic band.
To me the headphones are just another small slip in to the massive marketing on slaughter we will see develop

He means only certain companies. Chick fil a is fine. But companies shouldn’t advocate for a fair tax code or equal rights. No idea what any of that has to do with Mickey Mouse or headphones.

Incorrect, and you seem to be making assumptions, and trying to put words in my mouth I never said. Please link in this thread where I said it was okay for some companies to do and not for others. It doesn't matter if it is Apple, Nike, Citi Bank, etc. They can do it, but risk the loss of customers.

It is just not good marketing. Not sure if you have taken any marketing classes in college, or experience in the workplace, but it is typically marketing 101. Think about it...companies won't let you discuss politics at work, yet some use the company itself to do just that.

Apple are a trillion dollar company their marketing seems to be going ok.
I honestly think there’s a cultural issue and I just don’t understand the American psyche, the majority in the UK/Aus don’t let politics define them in the same way the US seems to.
I’m normally a conservative voter but I would happily change if I felt that was in my best interests and the best interests of my nation.
If a company with a lot of money and power wants to try and make the world a better place why shouldn’t they be allowed?

Yes, they should be allowed. Without a doubt. I am for freedom. When I say "should do", I am not for laws restricting it, but just that it probably isn't a good idea. I understand that Apple is a huge company, but don't forget their past.

1. Were large and successful
2. Plummeted
3. Was bailed out by Microsoft. Yep....Microsoft.
4. Has become a giant.

Many of companies that are huge come and go. And it can take a log time for Apple to feel affects of its mistakes. There are companies that we never thought would go under or shrink.

Some Companies off the top of my head:

1. Kodak
2. Xerox
3. Hostess
4. Lucent
5. Blockbuster
6. Tandy/Radio Shack
7. Atari and Sega are a shell of what they were.
8. General Motors (Pulled out of Chapter 11 by the government

Keep in mind politics was only one of the things I mentioned. The fact that they are as expensive as ever yet are delivering a product I find no longer worthy of the price tag is a huge one for me. They continue to ignore their customers, and continually denies when they have issues they don't want to address.

It is hard to argue with my Windows powered breathers when they are sporting an i7 quad core, 4K display, 32GB ram, 512+ SSD and paid less or the same as my MacBook Pro with an i5, 8GB ram, 256GB SSD, and a display that is good, but would not put in the great category, and I have been waiting for 2 years now to get use to the butterfly keyboard. However, I am not sure anyone will ever outdo the mouse and the gestures it uses compared to its Windows competitors.
