I compose **** music with garage band all the time. Nothing new here.
Lol yeah wtf is that ad?

Regaining hearing was never covered, but Apple has teamed up with MBAF (the Mute Button Awareness Foundation) in an effort to make some of their commercials less abrasive.

Watching videos, looking at people's social feeds, and browsing the internet all day is what I call a waste of your life.
Spent my weekend sitting on the couch drawing pictures in Procreate. Better than saying I sat on my *** watching movies on Netflix.
This is ACTUALLY the sound of this generation (at least a part of it). As for software quality going down, you will have to do a lot better than just say so. Also, considering the abysmal quality of the competition, AKA Android Lollipop, Apple doesn't much to worry about.
You're right. When you realize that 99% of musicians are barely making a living, and how short most musicians career is, especially these days, I think all musicians should be commended for their resiliency; even the ones I don't like the music of.
Apple is losing the plot. I know I sound like a "Apple is doomed" guy, but it's far from that. They're not doomed, far from it. They're lost though. First it's U2 for all, and now it's some crappy beats made in Garageband than can be passed off as music to the newest generation. They don't know what they're doing.
Software quality control has gone down like 10 pegs (figuratively at least), commercials are a joke...Apple, it's not too late.
They're showing a use-case scenario that isn't applicable to the majority of people. I'm not even sure it's that applicable to the musicians involved--it seems very forced.
...
And I'll tell it to you straight. When I go to live turntable events, I have NEVER seen any DJ pull out an iPad for their music. Just old school Pioneer turntables and a laptop ( Apple or Windows ) hooked up.
The only exception was one student down in a bar owned by a local college who used an iPad to DJ and there were less than 5 people there. It was that embarrassing.
I've never used Garageband so I can't comment on the technical use for it. But it wouldn't surprise me when professional musicians actually use higher end software compared to Garageband for their work.
Don't get me wrong, I have iPad and use it daily too, and yes I love it for what it is, but its development has been slow and still not as significant as an iPhone, or smartphone in particular. I have no intend or need to upgrade it as often, which is why the market is a bit stagnant (as a respond to the original post). Everybody has already got a "good enough" iPad and hesitant enough to buy a new one.
I can assure you Lollipop runs way more stable and fluid than iOS 8 does on hardware that is similar in terms of release date (iPhone 5, 2012 vs Nexus 4, 2012).
You're probably thinking Windows Phone. Android has come a long way and in OS fluidity is now better than iOS imo. It's a shame apps are still pretty lacking, and Apple's ecosystem is still second to none, otherwise I wouldn't hesitate to switch.
Exactly. Even David Guetta, worldwide DJ, uses a laptop. iPads are just for show.
It's like photography. The iPad version of Photoshop is meh, and real photographers use that and Lightroom (along with other tools) on a Mac or PC.
Same with coding (I work in IT). I would never ever code on an iPad, even if all the dev tools I need were available. You really need a desktop for that. Typing code, debugging, etc...all need to be done on a workstation.
Remember how in the keynote a few months back when Tim Cook unveiled the iPhone 6 and Swift, in that when he spoke of competitors being 'lost and confused', Apple 'had a clear and direct vision'?
Remember that?
Looks like it's not what it all appear to be. And they say Tim is the right man for the job?
I have to ask WHO actually 'green lighted' this commercial in Apple? I know iTunes and Beats is Eddy Cue's call, but the commercial part had to be given the 'go ahead' by Mr. Cook. Anything the VPs do, the CEO has to 'okay' it.
I just saw that commercial this morning on MR. Since they're from Sweden, they're definitely not an underground band as someone mentioned. This is a professional band relying on an iPad despite using other equipment.

EDIT: one other thing. There was another local professional DJ, a few years ago, who actually brought a huge 21 inch touchscreen computer ( not Apple, I think it was Sony ) at the nightclub to run the entire thing without using turntables. It was pretty cool to see it in action but he never used it again after that. I suspect he was experimenting with it before he went back to old ways.

It's definitely 'forced'. You can tell by the cinematographic style and final edit of the cut in the video by way of pacing. It was all planned out and not spontaneous.
This is why I think Microsoft is kicking Apple in the a$$ due to improved Surface Pro devices and increased expandability. I still have the original iPad but never upgraded for a long time until they get moving with their iPad development instead of crimping it.
But a ton of those at the Grammys are making the big dollars, and that's what matters to the GP's (general public) perception.
Indie bands/artists exist by the millions, and they're not there.
Yes, it's "easier" for things it was designed for. Grab and use for browsing on the couch, or watching movies at lazy times. But not much more in my personal experience. It's still an electronic paper in most cases. I was hoping it replaces something (hopefully, Mac and PC) instead of adding or complicate things.
Right now I feel too many "in betweeners" on today's gadgets. From Apple alone, there are Apple Watch (supersmall), iPhone (small), iPad (not too small), and also Mac which consists of laptop (a bit large but not too large) and desktop (large but not 60" large). iPhone is getting bigger while iPad is getting, well.. nowhere.
Don't get me wrong, I have iPad and use it daily too, and yes I love it for what it is, but its development has been slow and still not as significant as an iPhone, or smartphone in particular. sad to say but the surface 3 ads were better
I want to apologize on behalf of my generation for the music in that ad.
Actually to code properly, you need a proper keyboard with mechanical switch keys. It's far, far more comfortable that way ergonomically speaking. I use a Microsoft ergo keyboard and is comfy to my fingers than the Jony Ive-designed chiclet keyboard.
