the keyboard "thing" is a "thing" for most users, I've realized many MBP owners have problems with keys but they assume it's their fault, as they are not aware of this "thing" and are outside the tech world/news
so I wonder the problem is far bigger than it seems

Didn't the 6 core have heat issues? I'll be surprised if this 8 core MacBook can run at full speed for more than a minute before it kneecaps the clockspeed to keep heat under control.

Without a Mac laptop, I don't have any reason really to continue using an iPhone, and if the iPhone goes, so does the iPad too. It's sad, really, as I've been with Apple since the first iPod. But that's all over now.

I hear you. I was 100% Apple. I have since found good alternates and sold off my Thunderbolt Display, Airports, TV and Watch. MacBook, iPad and iPhone are the remaining pillars.

I would have liked the Vega option on the machine with less cores.

The Razer Blade 15 with 2080 Max Q 8 GB is looking pretty nice right now. And in the 17 inch form factor the cooling is fantastic.

Well DAMN. Five days out of my return window.
Talk to them - if you bought it at a Apple retail. They replaced my defective iPhone 7 that was a week outside of it’s warranty.

If you’ve taken good care of your device - i.e. it’s been in a case and had a screen protector on and as such has no visible damage - you’re nice and patient with the busy rep, agent, Genius (whatever), you don't throw a stink or act entitled: Then I’ve found Apple to be quite reasonable.

I also asked if they’d open my 2009 iMac and dust it out for me. They did this no charge - even though it was a year and a half outside of AppleCare warranty.

Why does anyone need an SD slot anymore with insanely fast wifi wireless connections?
Primary method of moving data off larger cameras is still wired or with removable media due to the actual size of these files.

Not to mention that not all camera equipment is equiped with WiFi or even the latest, greatest. You have to understand, Cameras aren't things people replace as fast as their computers. They have large investments into glass and other associated equipment. Replacing a camera just to go from Wireless N to AC for an extra 300mbps of transfer is going to be a meaningless and costly (thousands of dollars worth of equipment potentially) just for it taking 9 hours to transfer your camera instead of 13hours.

For example, RED Cameras at 4k RAW are about 5.3GB per minute.
A single 12mega pixel RAW image (3840x5760) is about 30MB each. 1,000 photos is about 30GBytes of data to transfer.

Wireless is a great add-on if you can have it for the odd usage. But it's not a complete replacement for high data throughput as of it's current G/N/AC iterations.

There was an issue with throttling shortly after the 2018 MBPs were released, but it was quickly fixed via a firmware update. I have a 6 core i9 and do a fair amount of video transcoding that easily maxes out all 6 cores for quite a few hours, and I haven't had any issues with throttling.

You should be thankful Apple is trying to improve the keyboard.

Funny, they are NOT trying to improve it, they are trying to convince everyone that they are trying to improve it. This buys them another year without having to do anything special except replace plastic A1 with plastic A2 (or whatever they are using).

Yup. I’ve never seen an article that has blown up like this with so many usernames I’ve never seen before. Could be a troll farm from a foreign country trying to stir up crap as usual, who knows.

MAC business not doing anny good in 2019, maybe marketing is paying someone or some AI to make hype and push sales, and sorry from Appple for all thhhese typpo errors, but I'm tryingg to typpe from a late 2016 MBP keyboard thhat needs service.

But that is what happens when the guy in charge does not fundamentally understand the technology.

I've been using the butterfly keyboard for a little under a year now, and have grown to really love it. The old MBP keyboards feel way too mushy now.

I get the impression that most of the negative comments about the butterfly keyboard are coming from People who've never actually used the keyboard (or at least used it for any prolonged period of time).

So butterfly keyboard, no thanks.
Only four Thunderbolt 3 ports and nothing else? WTF?!
Still has that stupid gimmick touchbar? Ugh.

Guess I will keep my 2012 and 2015 MBP still. There's always next time. Or Hackintosh.

I'm still keeping my 1996 Macintosh Performa. I can't stand computers that are not white. I can't explain why, but I resist change so I'll keep my old stuff forever.

C'mon, USB-C and keyboard complaints are getting old.

Are these the icelake processors?

No

I wonder when the 12” MacBook will get upgraded. It should at least get the new keyboard. Will Apple wait until it switches to ARM, or will they put another Intel chip one more time?

Agree, please release more in the coming days

I fear Apple did not update the MB line because it is going to “update” its consumer lineup with ARM. At least I have been preparing to transition back to Windows.
