Second, Apple will not ship the product to any address other than the billing address. Believe me, Ive tried. Same issue happened to a friend of mine as well.

Yes they will. When I placed my order via 1-800-MY-APPLE the CSR asked me where I wanted it shipped to, and I in fact requested a different address, and it's on its way.

Same here. I ordered mine online and it's coming to my work address rather than my billing address.

My phone is still in the "Prepared for shipment" stage. I hope it ships soon otherwise i dont htink it will be possible to get here before the 19th!

No idea, then. I've tried countless times with no luck for everything from Macbook Pros to iMacs to the 3GS this time. My buddy tried to do the same. He lives in both Denver and Phoenix. He wanted the phone shipped to Denver but his billing address is at his Phoenix address. They told him to pound sand so hes going to get in line Friday morning in Denver. I guess like everything seems to be these days... mileage varies from one person to the next.

Odd. Maybe because the addresses were in two different states though.

Well first of all my priorities are my business. I will be using the time off to prep one of the phones for my wifes birthday as well.

And finally, I live in Tucson, AZ where the UPS hub does not offer a nice office to pick up your package. You can make an arrangement with the hub site mgr to have him hold your product for an awkward pickup at the sort facility, but its located in a VERY bad part of town here and about an hour drive one way from my location.

I'm having mine shipped to my work, and my billing address is not my work address. I've have had several things shipped from Apple to addresses that aren't the same as the billing address. When you place the order online "billing address" and "shipping address" are two entirely separate fields. I'm not sure what your problem is...

Neither do I. My only guess is that it could be a safety feature required by my credit card. Some card issuers may or may not require shipping to billing address.

I have heard numerous people in this thread and other say that they are having their iPhones shipped to work, and earlier this year, I had my new MacBook shipped to work. So, yes, they will ship to other addresses.

Yeah, UPS hubs are typically built in crappy neighborhoods to keep costs low, but the option still exists to pick up the package if you miss delivery.

I just called UPS, and they said they will not be delivering any of them prior to Friday at Apples request. I'm sure a few will sneak through, but Friday it is. She told me no later than noon. Still better than getting up at the butt crack of dawn to wait in a line after partying it up Thursday night.

Talked with an international shipping rep at UPS ( 800-782-7892 ). As soon as I mentioned my package was scheduled for delivery on the 18th and now said "receiver requested a hold" she knew I was inquiring about the new iPhone. She said that it was guaranteed by 10:30 AM tomorrow morning. I guess we will see.

The "requested hold"s have been removed and my tracking page has been updated to say:

Your package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 06/18/2009.

Just got this e-mail from the Apple Store, so it's Friday and not before...

well i got through to apple "i dont know if they are going to ship them overnight or what they are going to do but i have been assured that you will have your product on friday"... It seems like they have been getting plenty of calls on the subject but the lady was still very pleasant on the phone.

I don't know what you are talking about, because I just called that number and she clearly stated that Apple put the hold for a Friday June 19th delivery. I am not surprised or disappointed b/c that is what they promised.

I mean to say that there used to be a bunch of entries that said "receiver requested hold" and my delivery date was no longer present. Now those entries are gone and the delivery date is tomorrow. This jives completely with what "Jennifer" at UPS told me via telephone earlier this morning.

It would be interesting to know when and where yours was put on hold... Mine arrived in KY at 2:05 AM.

Funny thing is my parents are in Louisville as we speak! Should have them try and pick an iPhone up from the UPS hub, haha.

Just called ups and the person confirmed that apple was holding these until 6/19

Wow...

My tracking page on UPS went from showing it with that standard hold message in KY this morning to showing as on its way from Hong Kong with a delivery of 6/17.

Anyone else see this issue? It's like they reverted the tracking back in time to cover up the holding of the phones.

Same here, but my "hold"s have been removed. We'll see if it's been changed again tomorrow to be "a scheduled delivery date of 06/19/2009".

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I would never dream that a company has the power to hold a shipment in progress.
I would have thought, once it is out the door, UPS has control over it.

Welcome to the world of business.

Apple have contracted work out to UPS, whom probably get millions from Apple alone. If UPS don't listen to Apple or don't meet their needs/demands/requirements - Apple will turn elsewhere and contract it out to other couriers.
