Different Arrival Dates

My email from AT&T says a delivery date of June 23rd, but UPS says June 18th. Anyone else have a similar discrepancy?

they already sent them here :D

The capacity lost to formatting is depressing... Otherwise, that is awesome.

I'm going to wait out the initial rush, and then probably get mine at the at&t store since I need to add 2 lines to my account (1 for the 3Gs, 1 for my girlfriend's dad, non iPhone, she gets my 3G) anyway. I had one reserved at the Apple Store, then found out I had to help my girlfriend move at 8am on Friday, so I wouldn't have had time to get all that worked out. I'll live...

Delivery delayed

I have the opposite problem. My delivery date changed from the 19th to the 23rd.

Why are people clicking negative? Its not like they were supposed to be released today? but hey Friday is almost here!

At least most of your iPhones have been shipped. Mine's still "prepared for shipment" and I ordered on the 8th around 9:49pm PDT.

I guess this is common sense, but my Package Progress is exactly the same as yours. Apparently many phones have been shipped together. Again, probably obvious, but figured I'd point it out.

Two things.

1. Are you running symantec? Hehe.

2. Are people SERIOUSLY surprised by this? I mean, come on people. Those that thought they would get their phones early because of what UPS.com said are not very smart, some may slip though the cracks but a majority, if not all, will deliver Friday.

ATT delivery

People are talking like these phones are coming to their homes. Aren't they all being delivered to the ATT store so they can be picked up Friday morning andactivated?

I don't have any hard evidence, just hearsay, but I believe early orders like yours and mine are being sent from the US, not China, and via FedEx, not UPS.

C'mon people, think! Did you really expect Apple would let thousands of us get the phone two days early?

It is COMMON practice in the shipping business for large bulk mailers to be able to specify a Do Not Deliver Before date or In Home Request Date. These allow mailers/shippers to submit items early (to make sure they don't arrive later than promised), but still still ensure no one gets before retail is delivery.

Remember the last Harry Potter Book? Amazon mailed them a few days early and they sat in Post Offices waiting for the Saturday delivery requested by the publisher to coincide with the retail store release.
Check out most of the junk flyers you get at home from the USPS, there's always some thing printed on them, like Postmaster, Deliver on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Get a grip, you'll get your phone Friday like the rest of us. Maybe a very few of you will get one that slips through, but don't hold your breath, and don't expect thousands of us to get them.

That only applies to people who walked in to an AT&T store and pre ordered there. Some people who pre ordered from Apple selected to pick it up from the Apple store.

For me, the iPhone will be delivered to my house because I don't feel like waiting in a line.

I ordered on Friday the 12th, a full day before they declared they were sold out. I did it over 1-800-my-apple. The very nice CSR assured and guaranteed I'd have it by the 19th. After the orders were placed, that's what the order status page said- june 19th.

Today I get the emails (I ordered two 3gs's so I used two apple ID's), saying "your phone has been shipped, will be delivered by june 23rd", and the same information is reflected on the order status page. The UPS tracking info shows delivery on june 22nd.

Needless to say I'm pretty pissed, since I was counting on getting them THE SAME DAY I WAS FLlCKING TOLD I WOULD. I'm disappointed at myself for being so ignorant and optimistic. OF COURSE things don't go as planned.

I don't know how ATT handled pre-orders but if you ordered from Apple you had a choice of direct shipping or p/u in-store.

So give Apple a call and tell them. Maybe they'll toss in a free case. Seriously. I've seen them throw all kinds of goodies at customers in instances like this. Worth a shot. Just be pleasant. Pissy people get, well, piss.

+1 - well written.

100+ negative rates? Seriously? You thought you were going to get your phones today? Apple said the 19th.

You kid yourself when you say you were "expecting" it today and maybe even tomorrow.
