I'm an open book.

i only have a few questions. Where did you go to college? and did you get a job right out of college? did you ever intern anywhere? did you make a decent amount of money for your first graphic design job?
Sorry i am just really excited to start majoring in graphic design and i always have questions about it

Which screens are better on Macs?
The glossy ones or rough ones to reduce glare?

I was just contemplating that same question. I think I like the glossy better. Yeah you can see your reflection sometimes but the colors are more vibrant, and crisp. If I'm concentrating on whatever I'm doing, I find that I don't really notice the reflection much at all, and if I do notice it sometimes, so what. It doesn't really bother me.

Today being a US Holiday is probably halting any new information. Tomorrow I am hoping for some sort information.

thanks :)

1. ULL - University of Louisiana at Lafayette
2. I did some designing in college, which beefed my portfolio and helped me get a job in my senior year of college. I actually worked at Domino's Pizza all through most of college.
3. Guess I answered that because I still work here I only finished college last year. :p

Keep that excitement. There's too many people nowaday that either don't appreciate what they do or forgot why they started.

No. You're not. I loled when I first saw it.

While we've already reported that new MacBook Pros are expected to launch on Thursday and reports have even surfaced claiming that sealed shipments are already on their way to retailers, it's worth noting that Apple's top-priority U.S. online store has now gotten in on the act by pushing shipment estimates for all new MacBook Pro orders out to 3-5 business days.

Apple's brick-and-mortar retail stores will of course continue to sell off any remaining stock of the current models, but the company's online distribution system has clearly dried up and any new orders placed will almost certainly be upgraded to the new models released later this week.

Some observers have questioned why Apple would release new MacBook Pros on a Thursday, as opposed to its traditional Tuesday release date. The most likely reason is related to the federal Presidents' Day holiday in the United States today. Apple generally prefers not to launch new products straight out of a weekend, in part due to ensure that media coverage is not diminished as some reporters may still be making their way back from the long weekend. Consequently, Apple has been known to deviate from its usual Tuesday and Wednesday releases in weeks with major U.S. holidays.

Others have noted that Thursday is Apple CEO Steve Jobs' 56th birthday (as well as MacRumors' own 11th birthday), which almost certainly simply makes for a nice coincidence.

Come on. Larger hard drive capacity, cheaper price tag, better graphics, that's all I need!

Does Steve get a sample of all the production/near production items for his birthday or do they get him a black turtleneck? Wonder if Steve says "If I get one more iPod for my birthday, somebody is fired."

I think he has other higher priority items on his mind such as mortality.

Sounds to me----

Sounds to me like they'd be shipping new models to people who order today. This tells me that the pricing will be the same except for potentially the new high end 17'' that is on the Russian website. Think about it. If you order a stock 15'' MBP for 1999 they aren't going to ship you a $2,099 new MBP. So the question is what does the stock $1,999 new MBP look like in terms of specs. I would also guess this means that they aren't removing the ODD for the stock models. I sure hope they make it an option though on the BTOs.

My guess would be for that price we are going to get SB processor and SSD (prob 128), maybe some new i/o like possibly lightpeak and not too much else. Longer battery life, maybe slightly lighter and maybe some new technology on the trackpad. Thoughts?

The glossy ones or rough ones to reduce glare?

There is no answer to this, some (like me) prefer the glossy, others prefer the anti-glare.

Glossy: Brighter more vibrant colours with better saturation and 'pop', with the trade off of refelctions.

Anti-Glare: Muted colours, not as pin sharp on text etc, but with better daylight useability and hardly any reflections.

European stores still list all models at 24 hours, with one exception: the high end 13" is at 3-5 days.

I'm expecting a new design. I remember that the current Macbook Pros have been around for like a year and a half, right? I think it's time for a new model. I know I sound spoiled when I say this, but compared to all of their other products, the current Macbook Pro feels kind of thick and "clunky" for an Apple product!

I'm not sure that 1.5 years is too long for a design.

And talk about clunky, I was using my 14" iBook G4 until a year ago as my primary machine. My new 15" MBP is ultra-sleek by comparison.

I think Apple will change the design of the machine when they change the look of OS X. They had a rubbery-translucent UI for a rubbery-translucent machine, then now a brushed metal UI for a brushed metal machine.

What will Lion look like? The design of the next machine will match that, whether this year or next.

Does Steve get a sample of all the production/near production items for his birthday or do they get him a black turtleneck? Wonder if Steve says "If I get one more iPod for my birthday, somebody is fired."

I think he has other things on his mind right now.
