Apple Event Confirmed for September 9th: 'Let's Rock'

I see them using this opportunity to really differentiate the iPod touch from the iPhone. It might even make the touch desirable to iPhone owners.

I bet the new design will be amazing. Can they get it any thinner? Maybe GPS?? 64GB? We'll see on Tuesday.

You live in a full developed country. I live in what some of you americans only know as "mexico and other latin countries", if that. Go ahead and "correct" me. If I get some money, it's for buying the best ipod, so it won't be "replaced" too soon.

thats hilarious. my parents are both brazilian and i go there almost every year. I never bring anything valuable with me

It costs insane amounts of money in R&D to upgrade computers and modify the design to match the new parts. It's much better that Apple concentrates on making stable computers than jump on each minor update that's available.

hey i'm not saying each week like Hp does.
But every 3 - 4 months wouldn't hurt
Hey, and I'm not saying major change, just speed bump and bigger hd to keep
the computers up to date.:D

while i like the white since its the epitomy of apple in my opinion.. when i first started getting into apple, most of the products were white (save for a few)
i loved the white iMac G4 (who doesnt? :D )
but to get to the point.. i love the white, but maybe a white aluminum case is possible?

and yay.. im now a 6502a!!:D:D:D
 
Anyway, does someone has any idea if that 4G nano is going to be definitive at least 'til next year (around 9/2009)?

dude, everybody here knows that. What I want to know is if this NEW NANO (the 4G eneration one) will last 'til 9/2009, without being updated til then.

This is completely true.
Apple needs to get with it. Other brands have already released Monevina stuff. For a premium product with "the latest Intel processors", this is sure disappointing.
 
Doesn't a big invitation mean more than a simple Nano widescreen or iPod Touch with a gps? Seems like it to me.

There has got to be some big(ger) announcement at this thing that the rumors we've heard.

Yeah same for me... waiting since may for a MBP. I wouldve bought by now out of frustration if it wasnt for the GPU scandal. I cant have my MBP that I use for creating music/videos and college work die on me a month after apple care (Im in FL, you cant extend apple care here).

Not wanting to start something, but Linux is getting _much_ better. Ubuntu is soaring with Dell's support. I could see it making significant strides over the next few years.
 
Wow, I actually attempted to read every post on this thread.
That failed especially since every time I got to another page, a new one was added.
Got to page 9 and gave up.

So... WHY ARE MOST OF YOU HATING ON THE iPODS?!
You can wait a few more weeks for your precious MacBook (Pro).
Don't get me wrong, I want a MacBook too but it's something you can wait for.
You think that if you cry enough on this site that Apple will magically change what is set to be releases/announced on September 9th?
Stop your crying and whining and just let everything fall into place.
And the iPod is far from irrelevant, especially for people who have huge libraries and use the lossless format.

Well I'm looking foreword to a few things.
I really want the new Classic with a few redesigns, 240GB model, and calculator App.
I am also hoping for a pricing lowering in the Touch, redesign, black and white versions, camera, etc.
If these two end up happening I will most likely get a 16GB Touch and a 160GB Classic; or I will get an 8GB Touch and a 240GB Classic.

AND I also think I might have figured out what the 5 stars stand for.
More than likely 5 new products/updates.
1) Nano Upgrade
2) Touch Ugrade
3) Classic Upgrade
4) Shuffle Upgrade
5) iTunes 8

PS - Sorry if I sounded too rude, it just really upset me to see not as many people as I would expect happy about the iPods.
And then there were many, many people who complained about it not being a Mac update.
 
Do you guys think that the ipod classic will be touched up on? :|
Or will the ipod nano just have the big floor with a new release, and apple will just conitnue selling the 6th gen? :[

I would NOT like to see background processes on my iPhone. The thing goes slow enough if I have Mail, Safari and iPod running at once... why would I want third parties slowing it down even more? Man, I can't even run VNC half the time without force quitting Mail and Safari. I can't imagine how slow the iPhone would be if everything ran in the background.

lol you had me going until you said diamond. Theres no way apple would make a case out of rock unless it is fake, and a limestone case with diamonds encrusted on it would cost like 5 grand. Unless it is fake then i would lose all respect for apple for putting fake diamonds on a product. leave that to the 14 year old girls and arts and craft stores and makeing their ipod nanos cute. and for granite, wtf???? my parents got a granite counter at our house it was a couple grand. not to mention how heavy it would be.
