They must be desperate for Mac sales. I can't think of why else that would have been an "event."

Also basically begging Intel users to upgrade was funny lol
Apple is dropping or has dropped support for most intel machines, and likely Sonoma is the last one. They are proactively trying to get people to switch over.

It's obvious this is Apples attempt to pad their Q4 sales + force Intel users to upgrade to Silicon

Wouldn't be surprised if their isn't enough supply of M3 chips or there's something wrong with them

What is going on with this spec sheet? Did an unfinished version of this page go out?

my only explanation for that event is that they felt that the M3 announcement was too big to just be a stealth store update. Otherwise literally nothing else warranted a primetime event.

Can’t believe Apple tried to say a 24inch 4.5k display is as good as a 27inch 5k… 🤔

I’m starting to think we’ve never get a big iMac again 😭😭 I’ve been holding out for 2 years now. Come-one, give us bigger.

If the screen is the most important , don't buy an all-in-one. That's why the Studio exists.

As for 5k vs. 4.5k... they would not be equal if the screen size were the same, but spread 5k out over 27" vs. 4.5k out over 24", and it's possible the 4.5k is better.

haha imagine someone in Norway staying up till 2 am losing sleep for that
Just a bit underwhelming, I mean M3 looks good for people upgrading from devices in Intel era (if you really need it) but for most people on M1 and later… you’d have to be doing some serious heavy lifting to warrant buying new apple silicon.

Interesting, It looks like space gray isn't an option anymore. Just space black and silver. I would have expected them to give us options as they mentioned a new color, black. Space gray, space black and silver. Options are a good thing, no?

A lot of fluff. I’m going to buy the 14“ M3 Max because I need to. But assuming the base Memory and SSD thing didn’t change…

It’s shameful.

Just did a quick pricing check on a MacBook Pro 16 with M3 Pro, 1TB hard drive and 36GB ram. It‘s nearly 10% more expensive than the same configuration but with 32gb ram of the M2 Pro. Looks like prices have jumped 5-10% across the board.

Oh fffffff. They've actually nerfed the pros. 8 P-core version gone. 6 P-core is the higher end now, and entry level starts with 5 P-cores. For the same great price, lol.
