well if the Mac can run ipad/iphone apps then the new iPad Pro can run mac apps right?

Great news. That's exactly what I was hoping for, mainly because the Apple TV I have now works great and when I replace it in two or 3 years, I can just replace the device and keep the remote.
I liked all the products too, but nothing there to make me upgrade.
IMO an event of almosts. AirTags with no default way of attaching them to anything. iMac only in 24” with chin and bezels and “odd” colours. Mini LED only on 12.9 iPad.
Better be, because this imac is almost pointless. It only makes sense for the select few people who are okay with m1 and 16 gb max but somehow need a 4.5k display. Everyone else should get the mini or even a macbook with an usb-c monitor.
So that was fine.
Almost all these recent event days are pretty standard, with very little unexpected (partly due to leaks, partly due to lack of paradigm breaking ideas). AirTags have been rumored forever, totality of iPad Pro was leaked, and the new iMac is beautiful but exactly what you’d expect. I guess M1 on iPad was a bit of a surprise, as we were all anticipated a new A series chip.
As some commentators have said, the wait continues for WWDC and iPad software updates, as that’s the flaw in that ecosystem. Just give me external display support! And while I love LumaFusion, it’s not Premiere Pro or FCP X.

Anyone notice the recipe for "Ted Lasso's Secret Shortbread" at the very end of the stream? Lol.. Wonder if the guy who messed this up was the same guy who thought it would be a good idea to keep the iMac chin and have white bezels....
Still only 16 GB maximum RAM on the AS Macs. As a musician who uses large sample libraries, this is getting concerning. The old 21.5" iMacs could be ordered or upgraded (not as easily as the 27" ones, but still possible) to 32 GB, which is the absolute bare minimum for someone like me.
Considering the ridiculous amount of time it took them to move from one to two buttons, from red light optical to laser and from AA batteries to Li-ion (5-10 yrs behind the likes of Logitech on each point), I think we can assume that the only ones still sticking to Apple mice are the ones who really really really love the design. If you survey that group of 14 people, you’ll come up with 100% customer satisfaction every time!

I am holding out for a Mac mini pro/smaller Mac Pro tower. I am buying the air tag $99 4 tags on Friday. Will upgrade my iPad when the old one dies.

IMO this event was fantastic, reminds of when the first iPad was introduced. I will be interested to see how the M1 works, seems like a winner.
