first week of april i would say new machine will be out
cant get anymore accurate then what i've just posted!
…yeah. I was saying the Mac Pro is the most likely Mac to have delayed shipping.I didnt mention Mac Pro I mentioned Mac Book Pro.. if you remember they released MBP on 1th January but they shipped mid February. Why iMac should be like this? Maybe will be release tomorrow but shipping mid April.
If Apple wants to keep the 80 W CPU TDP frame for the Xserve, then the top Gainestown speed that can be used is 2.53 GHz. GHz-wise, that's much lower than the current 3.0 GHz, even though overall performance may still increase. Interesting how the Xserve is not mentioned in the rumors. Maybe Apple is waiting for faster 80 W Gainestowns.Depending on the chips supply the Xserve will either get updated with the Mac Pro or get a silent update a few weeks later after the initial rush for the new Mac Pro has died down.
Were you the guy who was saying no update until 2H 2009? Or was it 2010?Here we go again![]()
I'm betting the surprise is a redesigned AppleTV. It hasn't seem a hardware refresh in 2 years and is still using a Dothan core. It'll probably be bumped to an Atom and a 9400M. I'm sure nVidia will be ecstatic to get an Ion design win. Apple will probably be adding additonal functionality too, maybe PVR capability, maybe ability to display other documents and applications or games. Might also be coupled with new Time Capsules for expanded media server capability.
That doesn't have to be true. I'm pretty sure most new models on launch use custom builds of OS X before being synced back together on the next update. Some features are also model limited like h.264 hardware acceleration in the Unibodies for the 9400M and 9600M even though they are the exact same architecture as the 8600M GT and 8800 series.I'm confident in my post.
Namely because they'll either have to use 10.5.6 or 10.5.7, and neither of them have Blu-ray support.
There won't be an iPhone event until June. Though an iPhone OS update that, y'know, actually updated would be nice.
I agree, it really sucks when I can build a PC that's just as quiet as a mini, has the specs of a 2gen old MBP, and pay less then $500 for it... There's something wrong there.Well, how many posts have already remarked that its perhaps too little too late?
I posted recently citing my dismay that Apple could ignore its fan base of long-time existing desktop users by not offering more recent and cost effective updates
Point to the post is, Apple have lost my money due to their delays and lost a fan how many more has this affected! Other manufacturers (I'm thinking Hackintosh) now is the time to strike!</snip>
Keep it under $399 and give me a nice PVR (requires a tuner, of course) and I'm already sold. The other stuff sounds nice, too.
New iMac is needed but I can only imagine minor speed bumps unfortunately.
I know for sure that they are planning to introduce a very significant update of Logic in March, so I believe they will use this media event to showcase Logic 9.
From what I have heard, Apple are have put a lot of work into the new Logic 9, as Logic 8 was a merely a face-lift from the previous version -- Logic 9 will represent the next generation digital workstation.
Now that Apogee and Apple are tied into long-term contracts and with the recent news of Apogee dropping windows support, Logic 9 will be a serious challenger to Pro Tools.
Why would Apple hold the event the month BEFORE they release the desktops? They would release them that day if not the next.
Since the iMac refresh will not be earth shattering, an Apple Event would not make much sense. But, throw in a new Mac Mini, a refreshed Mac Pro and OSX 10.6, that would most definitely be worth an Event.
But that will have to wait until June. I can see it now. Ive & Schiller will host the event. After all products have been displayed, Ive will say, "Just one more thing". There is a drum roll as a curtain rises. To roaring applause stands a healthy looking Steve Jobs holding the next generation iPhone.
Ah blue Ray, I definitely expect to see two BTO in a MP
Grins... Ah, that got your blood boiling for a moment Tallest J/K
I will quote you if they do include BR though![]()
THAT was not worthy of an Event. But, tell me how Apple could have pulled out of MacWorld. It was bad enough that Jobs pulled out.?????
Their last MacWorld featured 2 iLife improvements and a 17" MacBook Pro that caught up with current cheaper Macs.
Explain to me how THAT is worthy of a event?
I still say the entire desktop line will be updated at the media event, much like the notebook event last year.
As for this Tuesday, shouldn't the 32gb chips be out for the iPhone and Touch to incorporate. They were updated Feb last year, so the spec bump seems plausible.
