The end of March date tallies with an Apple supplier I spoke a couple of weeks back who were expecting replacement Mac Pro's in the end of March/beginning of April timeframe.

Oddly enough that same supplier now only has the poverty spec machines available, with everything else now now ordered on request..

No I won't drop them in it..

Presentation will be led by Schiller, with Ivy and Mansfield as sidekicks. and 1-2 additional people in a video.

My Apple Guide mentioned there might be a "pleasant surprise" at the event. I doubt it's Snow Leopard given it's state, and the fact that 10.5.7 is already adding the required support for Nehalem.

I'm betting the surprise is a redesigned AppleTV. It hasn't seem a hardware refresh in 2 years and is still using a Dothan core. It'll probably be bumped to an Atom and a 9400M. I'm sure nVidia will be ecstatic to get an Ion design win. Apple will probably be adding additonal functionality too, maybe PVR capability, maybe ability to display other documents and applications or games. Might also be coupled with new Time Capsules for expanded media server capability.

Or it could just be Blu-ray.

Nah blue ray ain't happening, no is support, and like a hero of mine said, it's a bug of hurt( hey stevie!) but otherwise great post, that media server bit has got me drooling.

新しい iMac発表は来週
The new iMac - announcement next week?

Appleは新しい iMac を3月3日国内では4日発表するようだ

It seems Apple will announce the new iMac on March 3rd, 4th within the country [USA].

'Ka' in Japanese indicates a question.

A source I know that deals with Apple direct says that two events are up and coming. One in March and one in April. I have no dates or details as to what will be shown, but from the way they were talking it wasn't an event this week.

I was also told to hold off on a purchase of an iPhone. Don't know how true that is, but that is what I was told. So my guess is desktop this month, iPhone next month. ATV would be nice for hardware upgrade, but the point of that piece of hardware is not to have to do that. Functionality should come from software upgrades, which we have seen. If they do upgrade, that is fine too though since I want to buy one for the bedroom.

I know this is vague but I do believe what I was told. Both sources are not the types who brag. Heck, they aren't even tech freaks.

While hopeful for the 9400M, something tells me the Mac mini won't get it. I'm thinking it'll more along the lines of a new standard config:

2 GHz Core 2 Duo (Penryn), option of up to 2.33 or whatever the one step bump is
2 GB RAM, option of up to 4 GB
160 GB HDD, option up to 320 GB maybe
SuperDrive
Intel GMA 4500 HD
Mini-Display port

Probably $699, hoping for $599. Never know, though. Apple's a crafty one.

The next iPhone will be out before June. Look for an iPhone event in late April. Apple won't hold an event in June, since people are expecting Steve to be back. He won't be.

Yes, makes sense, they want to keep people from seeing or not seeing him in the event of an event...(funny wording....haha)

I am looking forward to march 24th! I will be in Vegas for vacation and can hit the apple store in the forum shops if there is a new mac mini in stock!

People need to keep in mind all these stories are just repeating what one website is reporting. There is no confirmation from many sites. Just one.

I can see a refresh of iMac's tomorrow then an event around the 24th.

Apple front page shows a new product for 3 weeks then shows another new product for three weeks. That's plausible.

If there are a multitude of product refreshes all at once Apple couldn't advertise all of them on the homepage at once. Staggering is the way they will do this.

That pic of the new Mac Mini is fake, fake, fake. If it were real Apple legal would have sent out letters like they did with the pics of Snow Leopard. As arn can attest to.

Why would they have a completely separate architecture for one model line, when they can continue to use what they already have on the MB/MBP/MBA, which also happens to be better?

Old family friend? Links? Proof?

Also keep in mind possible cheaper CPU options (2.0/2.2 GHz 800FSB 2 MB L2 35 W) and Apple's possible increased emphasis on GPU.

I'd find it more likely for them to go the Atom/Ion route than C2D/4500HD route. Ideally it'd be identical to the MB line, with the exception of lower proc speeds. But who knows.

2007 leaked aluminum keyboards?

The Macbook event was laptops with a speed bump not 3 separate products like this discussion is referring to. iMac, MacMini and Apple TV.

Apple can show a laptop on the home page but it's hard to show a new iMac and a new Mac Mini both on the same homepage.

The keyboard..Meh. That was nothing worth getting into legal about.

Well can't they just put a banner that says something like "The new Macs", for all the three?
