Adding AirTag would bump the price of the remote by 50%--terrible value.

Nice! Now I don't have to buy an AirTag for my backpack because it's sooo much thicker than an TV remote!

Well if you keep your backpack in the same room as your Apple TV like you would with the remote, you're actually correct. I have a feeling that's not the case, though, so...apples and oranges.

I already love my new remote, it’s much better than the older one. But this is BS. I think that Find My integration would be overkill as I don’t need to track my remote outside my house. But a little speaker triggered by iPhone/Apple Watch or Homepod would have been nice. It’s not a dealbreaker, but definitely a big miss by Apple

Just got the new Siri Remote today and when using the YouTube app, you used to be able to skip ahead 15 seconds or so by pressing a certain area of the trackpad and no controls came up on screen, which was nice. Now I can't seem to replicate that feature with the new remote, it skips ahead the 15 seconds but it pauses the video and the controls come up on screen...that's not cute.

It's little pointless backwards steps like that that drive me crazy. I recently bought a new pair of Bluetooth headphones (same brand I had used for 6 years) and they don't let you rewind anymore by pressing and holding the previous/next buttons - they now only skip tracks. Like, wtf? What idiot decided that would be a good feature to remove? 😡

Then why do you need Find My for your backpack or bike or anything larger than the new Siri Remote?

Think about it. Is it not obvious? Do you keep your bike and backpack in the same room all the time like you would a TV remote? No. Totally different.

Received my new Apple TV and remote. Super easy to setup with my phone. The remote is a huge improvement. The two that I have with my older Apple 4K TV boxes are too small. They're likely fine for children or adults with kid-sized hands. The Mic button on the side will take a bit of getting used to. The on/off button is nice.

Also... no jaunty button labels on my remote.

Absolutely not kidding. I was wrapping up my old Apple TV to give to my friend since I bought the new one. And one day before doing this I lost the remote. I have no idea where it is. I checked my couch it’s not there. The house swallowed it. My first comment about the new remote was hey it’s thicker hopefully I won’t lose it.

i'm shocked we don't all have your same layout with the same accessories scattered throughout the house with the same house members that use and leave things exactly as you use them.

What, do some of you have layouts where the remote is hidden in another room or people who take the remote to random places in the house? LOL! I guess if you have young children this may be an issue if you don't secure the remote in a childproof location, but otherwise...

alright, first hair force one irritated me earlier this week with the whole "computer users are stupid so let's lock down macos like ios bc you're all idiots".

now "our remote is bigger so you wont lose it.

literally this is a person with their head in the sand, in one of the most moronic ways. but they're an executive of a trillion dollar company. and somehow their, objectively still small, remote is bereft of problems other remotes suffer from.

aka being lost.
