What, do some of you have layouts where the remote is hidden in another room or people who take the remote to random places in the house? LOL! I guess if you have young children this may be an issue if you don't secure the remote in a childproof location, but otherwise...

i live in a large loft where you can watch tv from many areas not just directly in front of the tv. you can also use the remote for more than watching tv, like listening to a podcast or music, which you can do from the bathroom or any corner in the house. many times i watch tv while i cook or clean and the remote moves with me everywhere in the house and at some point i will set it down somewhere i forgot.

i sometimes take the remote up to my desk on the second floor where i can see the tv from my stool. imagine not living in a regular apartment.

Easy solution is to keep the remote in a central location.

It’s smaller than this one though isn’t it?

Come on Apple. We’re not angry, we’re disappointed.

Clearly this guy doesn’t have kids to take a remote and misplace it. Mine was missing for four days until it was found in my son’s laundry basket.
Was going to post a similar thing. Anyone with elementary school age kids knows that remotes disappear with "no one" using them, that they are always "just left it there where it goes", and that they end up in the most unimaginable of places. We also have had ours disappear for multiple days.

That’s why you need to tie a piece of string to it, like the idiot mittens we had as kids.

(Do they still have idiot mittens?)

It's little pointless backwards steps like that that drive me crazy. I recently bought a new pair of Bluetooth headphones (same brand I had used for 6 years) and they don't let you rewind anymore by pressing and holding the previous/next buttons - they now only skip tracks. Like, wtf? What idiot decided that would be a good feature to remove? 😡
That’s how I feel about dropping cover flow from the Mac. The new gallery mode seems more like the Windows 10 way.

I don’t even have kids, but do you really think that a normal parent is going to childproof the location of the TV remote?
