I like Apple but I will never understand sucking up to a trillion dollar corporation that doesn’t care about you like this.

In an ideal world they would just make 25% profit instead of 30% but that’s not the one we live in.

MacBook Neo with 20% margins: $119 profit per unit
Hilarious you think $100 is the difference of 5% profit.

The iPad would actually be a possible money loser if no price increase happened.

People who accuse others of "sucking up to trillion dollar corporations" clearly can't understand this.

Well, this is what happens when uneducated boomers let the ultra wealthy convince them regulations (and virtually anything else) are bad for the economy. The mind numbingly ignorant voting population screwing the younger generations, while simultaneously blaming them for the problems they were gifted.

Yep. I refer to this person as "my oldest brother".
😕

Will they increase the cost of Apple Care by saying that it now costs more to repair/replace components since everything is soldered to the motherboard? What a bad design choice for the sake of youtubers doing benchmarking.

Oh absolutely..
You can book that immediately.
It's guaranteed.

Have they increased the price already?

I immediately purchased AppleCare.

Probably I won’t be buying the Ultra within a year even it could be lighter with higher resolutions and without a notch. Even the current price for MacBook Pro 16” is a bit high for a laptop.

Billionaires don’t know what else to buy so they are buying data centers causing our prices to go up. Tax wealth, not work.

Just yesterday I was thinking about replacing the 2015 iMac we keep in the family room for the kids. It looks like the price of the cheapest refurbished iMac (M4, 8, 8, 16 core and 256gb) on Apple's site is now $1269. Costco has the exact same model for $1,149. Price good until tomorrow.

I have a 1tb Sandisk drive. I can just connect it using one of the TB ports, right? Put music and everything else except system files on it?

Makes sense, but I thought Apple had RAM contracts that gives them RAM at fixed price.

Those weren't perpetual, and now it's a free-for-all. Look at how Micron's Crucial memory division quit the entire consumer market to chase the AI money from Nvidia. That's why it's laughable that now Micron wants to claim Apple had lots of options here.

Apple was proud to announce that iOS 27 supports the iPhone 11 series, which was released back in 2019. Yet, watchOS 27 doesn’t support the original Apple Watch Ultra, which only came out in 2022. I really hope Apple starts providing at least seven years of OS updates for all of its devices in the future.

On the other hand, I can install macOS 27 on my 2021 14-inch MacBook Pro, but it doesn’t run as smoothly as I’d like. I ended up going back to Sequoia, which feels more responsive ( better than 26) and even gives me better battery life.

How does this apply to the increase in refub items?
They will answer that not raising prices on refurbished items diminishes the perceived value of Apple refurbish products vs the competition. Raising prices on used, returned, refurbished products helps the consumer feel that they purchased a product of superior value. 😛

WHO CARES. WE DONT CARE. WE AREN NOT GOING TO BUY A PHONE THATS $2,000 watch how many customers leave apple if they keep up this disgusting behavior of raising prices
I’m guessing since folding phones have been $2k to $3k for a minute now… iPhone Pro Max fully maxed out is $1999…

People will still buy $2k phones…

Apple makes its own processors and many of them include RAM on the chip. The main and major examples are the M series (M1 thru M5). So, please tell me, what vendors are increasing Apple's costs for "memory chips?" These processors are used in Macs and iPads yet these products were included in the list of *major* price increases.
Samsung/SK Hynix/Micron supply the ram chips for M1-M5. what are you talking about?
