how about these three incorporated into the G5 imac. that'd be a sweet suite. free video conferencing and no wires. how delicious.

also, how about ProBand being released with 60 gig ipods and the introduction of dj ipod equipment. (that might make hp look bad.)

I do wonder where ProBand fits into things. Without having seen the trademark of ProBand, I would have been very surprised to see Apple announce yet another audio app. If ProBand is a pro-grade Garage Band, isn't that already Logic, Logic Express AND Soundtrack? (GarageBand is, though, more oriented to performance that the others. See below.) Just seems like too many titles to me.

I think either (1) Apple took the ProBand trademark to lock it down and prevent a competitor from creating confusion or (2) your hunch is right that it's going to be a live-performance application. (After re-watching the January keynote, I can see that Apple views GarageBand as a performance application; ProBand as a live-gig performance app makes some sense.

I'm expecting the new iMac. At Domayne (a store that sells computers in Australia), their Mac section had eMacs, Powerbooks and the G5 on display, but no iMacs. I believe we'll start seeing the new annoucements as early as this evening (as AppleInsider stated) and I hope the AppleSpec page at the Apple support site is updated with the 4 the gen iPod, the Cinema displays introduced in June, and the new iMac specs links.

Schiller: Behind this curtain, you've all been waiting for it, the ALL NEW POWERBOOK!

*applause & curtains pulled apart revealing a PB G4*

look, it has an all new extra USB port, and cool white stripe on the back

*cough*

that's all...

*Barrage of gunfire*

Yah pretty much like that..........

Another G4 and another set of delays. If anyone thinks Moto will have a dual core CPU before sometime next year they are on crack.

I’ve really lost any patients for most of Apple’s products. Everything I want to spend my money on is one version away.
iPod = Need 60GB to fit my collection.
PowerBook = Current performance sucks compared to the competition and to really get ready for future versions of OS X optimized for the G5 the CPU of choice right now is a G5.
iMac? = Don’t care since I already have a desktop. (Note that I understand the much needed move to the G5 though.)
PowerMac? = Don’t care because I already have a desktop.
iSight? = Don’t care since I don’t know a single person who does video conf.

My predictions

Show Surprise: iPod features and add ons which change the portable music player game. Apple needs to make MS look like their launch on 9/2 is a non-event.

iSight works for the PC

iMac. People will love the design, hate the specs. Apple will sell a ton of them for 9 months

Apple remote that looks like a long iPod

ProBand

All things considered, it's been a slow year for Apple. I hope we see amazing products from Apple tomorrow.

tittering...

my money and i await the goodness to flow from Paris like wine... i haven't been this excited in a long time, and it's making me nervous. i have been holding of on an upgrade for so long that - at this point - i REALLY need to upgrade. so this announcement is huge for me.

huge.

Can anyone confirm what time the show is in PST? It's 1am, right?

Also, any ideas on how to get a blow-by-blow of the PhilNote? Even if it is a text feed....

Thanks as always.

Interested to see what really comes. Especially the iMac. Please don't drop the eMac without a replacement in the same price range!

g5 2.5

I got my g5 2.5 from the apple store in Oregon just a couple days ago. so far its been great! i've decided that i love OSX and i've only been useing it for 3 days. now if i could only get rid of my windows laptop and get a powerbook....

From the WS store? We're in the same "area" then (I'm down the Willamette valley). Tuesday's going to be a long wait.

Just my thoughts...

Remember that 'wireless firewire' I don't how it would work, but it may come into play with an iPod update for wireless connectivity - (probably Mac only) 😀.

2) A tablet Mac using that 'chameleon patent'?

I guess it has been said before : but why does ANYONE believe that a dual-core PB will be released when the processor is only announced in October (and then we still probably need a supporting chipset and optimized OS for dual cores).

Maybe, but still very unlikely, we'll see another processor bump in the G4.

Just my 2c anyway.

does no live video feed mean no big releases?
It could simply mean that they want to make the keynote available to paying attendees first, or that it will be happening too early in the day for most Apple stores to show it live, or...
