I do wonder where ProBand fits into things. Without having seen the trademark of ProBand, I would have been very surprised to see Apple announce yet another audio app. If ProBand is a pro-grade Garage Band, isn't that already Logic, Logic Express AND Soundtrack? (GarageBand is, though, more oriented to performance that the others. See below.) Just seems like too many titles to me.
I think either (1) Apple took the ProBand trademark to lock it down and prevent a competitor from creating confusion or (2) your hunch is right that it's going to be a live-performance application. (After re-watching the January keynote, I can see that Apple views GarageBand as a performance application; ProBand as a live-gig performance app makes some sense.
