From dictionary.com:

ir·re·gard·less ( P ) Pronunciation Key (r-gärdls)
adv. Nonstandard
Regardless.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Probably blend of irrespective, and regardless.]
Usage Note: Irregardless is a word that many mistakenly believe to be correct usage in formal style, when in fact it is used chiefly in nonstandard speech or casual writing. Coined in the United States in the early 20th century, it has met with a blizzard of condemnation for being an improper yoking of irrespective and regardless and for the logical absurdity of combining the negative ir- prefix and -less suffix in a single term. Although one might reasonably argue that it is no different from words with redundant affixes like debone and unravel, it has been considered a blunder for decades and will probably continue to be so.

Alls well in Belgium

Been looking around and here's what the Belgium store has as it's front page:
Not sure if thats normal or not.
That's perfectly normal, Peace, we have two languages in Belgium, 6 milion of us speak Dutch (Flemish) and 4 milion speak French (like Hercule Poirot)
The first time you visit the store you have to chose a language, just chose one, and you'll see a normal store

If apple was so worried about the supposed conflict between selling media and letting people get it on their own, why does iTunes support ripping CD's to mp3? Doesn't seem to hurt their song sales, does it?

excellent point. one which didn't eve occur to me.

call me old fashioned i guess. i don't consider it to be a word since it came about by people mispronouncing a word that actually existed. i also don't think "werd", "phat", and "n'ah mean?" belong in there either. last line says it all "...it has been considered a blunder for decades and will probably continue to be so." :)

Apple Boombox

the apple boombox is going to be a media server and will be controllable/synchable via wireless (not sure if wifi or bluetooth) on ipod. You will be able to control where the music from the boombox plays...(airport express enabled radios)

[edit] nevermind.It's just a language choice [/edit]

That's normal :)
I'm from belgium and what you see is just a portal to select your language :). Because people, like me, in the north of the country speak flemish, and the people in the south speak french everything is split in two. So you can choose your language befor you enter the apple page for belgium.

2 minutes to go :)

Since I don't see it mentioned, LR claims to have live coverage.

The fewer people figure out what LR means, the more chance I have of getting any kind of connection to them :)

he's right it is NOT a valid word in the english language.. it's just sheer ignorance that has allowed it to go unchecked for so long. It makes no sense from the structure of the word..

Just becuase people use it, doesn't make it correct. Most people educated in the ways of language will shun that "word" because it is a bastardization that makes no sense and was spawned from ignorant peasants.

NOW THEN..

should I go down to the SOHO store?

Not to get too involved in an issue not directly related to the thread, but the lexicon of any language is littered with words that are born from modifications due to errors. You would be ill advised to pursue your line of reasoning as you will find that many words that you are proud to know and use were born in the same fashion. Language is not officially changed; it is only the change itself that is officially recognised. A word needn't be in the Dictionary for it to still qualify as a word.

I've been around intelligent and highly educated people who use both regardless/irregardless. They probably have more important things to worry about.

Thanks for the mention, but LR sucks because the only way to get coverage is by using their widget. I'm at work using the OTHER OS!! ARGH!!

Just looks like they changed it to run from elsewhere with higher bandwidth? http://a248.e.akamai.net is where all the images are currently being stored, which when i checked the other day, wasn't the case.

I saw this a few pages back - if this is true then Apple might be getting ready to be inundated with visitors, in other words they're about to release something that's going to blow people's minds, not just the mac fanatics but *everyone*.

Also I've got a sneaking suspicion that they might release 8GB iPod Nanos. Its already been proven to be possible since the 4GBs have a single 4GB chip in them but have 2 solder spaces for chips. I think that's right at least.
