I would buy an iPod with a built in camera. But, I don't think it's in Apple's plans.

It seems as a logial step in the evolution of the porduct line to add a camera to an iPod however I still don't really think Apple will do it :(

I would update my current iPod if they add a camera or camera funtion to the iPod.

In Japan....

The 28th is already expired here, yet Cupertino is still sleeping. I'll have to wait until the 29th my time to find out what happened!

edit: make that the 1st instead of 29th - this aint a leap year!

Im right there with ya. wat the hell does a boombox hav to do with an ical image???? calendars are used to ORGANISE. Wat technology is used to organise??? a PDA/electronic organiser. I really hope we see a iPod/touch-screen PDA :D
Thats right, totaly agree. I cant seem to shake the feeling that we will see a new product from apple, that doesnt have to be a video ipod. My money is on a video/PDA iPod. Perhaps a totally new branch in the iPod family, or more like a cousin.

Could it be an iPod with a camera and wifi so you could sit and chat with ppl everywhere? kind of like 3G phones, but this is for free :) (if you have wireless connection that is)
I would buy one of those!

you know i'm halfway thinking about going to the apple store around 1 pm here.. a bit before.. i wonder if anything cool is released it will be available.. i mean i want to go check out the MBP anyways.. but it would be nice to be able to actually get something new before it sells out in 20 mins in SOHO.

Actually it is only 9:50 here in Japan. And you post was 10 minutes ago... So the 28th hasn't expired yet. ;)

But I understand the feeling. I'm about ready to go to bed soon just so I can wake up early to see what surprises are awaiting me!

Hehehe... Just like Christmas.... :D

Wouldn't it be cool if the iPod Hifi was the Intel Mac Mini? So I guess it would have the appearance of an ordinary Mac Mini but with whatever the standard connections for speakers are nowadays, the now almost standard Apple remote control and perhaps the same screen as an iPod. The thing could be run in "Hifi mode", which would mean that the full OS wasn't loaded and due to the low processing requirements for such a setup the fans never came on or could be booted as a real Mac if a monitor is connected.

I guess the idea is unrealistic due to the cost versus a plain iPod Hifi, but I still think it'd be cool. I guess it'd be much like the rumoured iHome but without the formal requirement for a screen if all you want to do is listen to music.

I heard from an inside source that they will be releasing a new line of computers

They sould amazing, get this they are called "Super power mac mice"

Like the imac where the computer is in the screen, the computer is in the mouse.

It connects to a tv, moniter or projector.
Included with the mouse is the keybored with has all the ports and space for upgraded ram.

The system is report to house a core duo with a clock speed of 2.57 ghz.

So excited!!

No no, It will be in the keyboard, and you only need a tv as monitor, it'll look like this:

Apple is now offering Academy Awards Nominated Film Shorts via iTunes

Apple's Feb 28th Media Event takes place at 10:00am Pacific at the Apple Town Hall Building in Cupertino, California.

The most likely products for release include an iPod Boombox and the Intel Mac mini.

Meanwhile, Intel iBooks and Touch Screen iPods are said to be coming soon, but not necessarily at the event.

Live coverage of the event will be limited due to the invite-only aspect of the event. MacRumors.com will link to live coverage and provide a running summary of events as they take place.
Is this a hint of products/service to come later today....hummm! By the way, the shorts are all wide screen format!:)

April 1st this year is a Saturday.(also my B-day, except I'll be 31)
Would apple release new gear on a sat? Any reason its always a Tues?

I had a dream last night about this event.

Apple would release a robotic vacuum cleaner, similar to the Roomba!!

No iBook, no Mac Mini.

Lol.

That is a VERY good idea.

The iTunes Music Store was updated this morning.

Typically Apple doesn't do this if their announcement has anything to do with the store. However, typically they hint at the products on their invitations too, so maybe they just smartened up.

David

Ok, I'm too lazy to read the previous 100+ posts so sorry if this is a repeat.

[edit]
i should say the i was never explicitly mentioned as standing for the internet, but the original commercials focused on the iMac's ease of connecting to the internet. the whole "there is no step 3" thing.[/QUOTE]

In the Jobs keynote where he talked about dropping the Interim from his title. He says he liked iCEO because of the internet.
