This is ridiculous. What you've done in the past should have little to no bearing on RIGHT NOW. Now, if he had come out and said stuff from that point forward, then it might be cause for concern. But what Apple did was wrong.

It's gotten to the point that if you have EVER done anything to offend anybody, you should be denied the ability to earn a living. That's insane.

Implying I’m stupid doesn’t enforce your argument one bit. You, I and everyone else reading the quotes knows exactly what he meant.
You did reinforce that though.
It’s whether or not one thinks it’s an issue or not, offhandedly demoting a whole demographic of females to one generic stereotype.

I do. You don’t. That’s fine. I know who I would rather be.
When I talk about fat, balding, middle aged men, I am proclaiming that all men are fat, balding and middle aged, or I am specifying the group I talk about? Fitting those stereotypes is the exact thing what defines that demographic. It seems somehow certain people always want to interpret things so they can get offended.

I half-agree, but if you look at his book, it's clearly quite tongue in cheek and not to be taken literally.

I don't understand how slightly offending some people is now a life destroying offence. Especially when most of the offensive is fake.

What is happening to society...

I somewhat agree with you, but saying that being fired by Apple is “life destroying” is ridiculously hyperbolic. He’s a millionaire tech executive…he’ll be fine.

Within limits. Those limits are what is being discussed here.

I'm not sure I agree with this.

Haven't we all said things in the past we regret?

The rule seems to be don't get caught. I'm not a fan of that.

There should be some way for people to be forgiven. Why destroy a man's life because he once said a few rude comments about the women around him?
No, almost none of us have ever said anything we regret. No forgiveness, ever! Is it too much to ask to live a perfect life?

Women stuff aside, I’m glad he’s gone just over his views of privacy alone

Very stupid move on Apple’s part, allowing the woke cult to decide who gets hired there. Now, with blood on their hands, they will be much bolder and will now go after targets already employed by the company.

Tim Cook will rue the day he let these marxist mental cases take control of the company. It also shows that his power as CEO is not what it was, and that will affect Apple’s ability over the long haul.

Very dumb decision. You don’t let the inmates run the asylum.

So it’s ok to insult people, gender of people and I can only assume the race of people, as long as they fit in with the correct stereotype?

One not understanding what one is implying with what one writes, is exactly why these problems exist in the first place.

If we had the technology to probe the memories of every (Apple) employee, absolutely no one would be qualified to work there. Not Tim Cook, no one.

Greenlit, showrunner found, Prime and Flix showing interest. Emily Blunt verbal agreement for lead. See you tomorrow 12:30ish? Great.

Why are you pretending I'm excusing misogyny?

Why do people do this?!

Please stop lying.
This is why I'm slowly starting to separate myself from society. People online have become so drunk with cyber social power that they just ruin lives left and right for no reason at all. People aren't even gonna bother growing and changing eventually since the result is the same either way.

Look how you're getting attacked just for having an opinion about this. People are literally trying to call you things and don't know you at all. It's disgusting.

Only as disgusting as the OP story stating certain things about all women within a certain demographic, no? Or is that different somehow?

He didn’t though. He said women. He said women because he meant women. Precisely the problem and precisely the issue at hand.
No, he is specifically refering to a small subset of the world population which is "women of the Bay Area". And he said most. Now , it seems that this small subset of humanity thinks they are representative of the entire women population of the planet, and disliking this group means disliking the entire females of the planet. As if saying "I dislike men who are part of the KKK" means you dilsike the entire male population of the planet.
They are basically confirming why he dislikes them : they think they are the elite center of the world , but they're just full of hot-air.

Oh right. Only certain women. Oh that’s ok then. Phew.

So it’s ok to insult people, gender of people and I can only assume the race of people, as long as they fit in with the correct stereotype?
Stop strawmanning. By the way, if the description fitting you is insulting, maybe the problem is in you, don't you think?

One not understanding what one is implying with what one writes, is exactly why these problems exist in the first place.
Maybe stop assuming things, try to be less prejudiced.

Yes, the question is whether that's how he thinks now. That book is only a couple years old, and it's pretty hateful: ‘Most women in the Bay Area are soft and weak, cosseted and naive despite their claims of worldliness, and generally full of ****.’ The statement shows a general distain for anything outside his range of knowledge, and I would not want him working at my company. He's going to treat anyone who disagrees with him like crap.

And his book will sell more than it ever has.

Again, he doubled down on all his statements. I don’t feel sorry for him.
I do. We've all said things we regret. We should be more loving and more caring. What has happened to the freedom of speech that we used to have?
