So excited about this! I’ve been looking for a quality virtual instructor for a while. Everyone online claims to be an instructor and wants you to cash app them money while they eat a cheeseburger. I’m signing up for this day one.

Also videos like these aren’t always about motivation, they’re often more about technique/ form.
Sure, but most Americans need to eat less sugar, less fat, and simply do some cardio.

Fixating on some perfect technique is getting caught in the weeds.

This is a pretty flippant and myopic response.

There are people who do need outside motivation for a myriad of reasons-keep an open mind.
Doesn’t mean I’m wrong. I’m good with whatever motivates people to be healthy, but diets and exercise programs are proven not to work. You need lifestyle changes that must come from a complete change in philosophy. Fitness+ MIGHT do it for some, but people generally don’t get serious until they have a brush with death, serious illness, or other outside wake up call.

This is largely another failed diet for most people. The issue is largely too much food and sugar consumption.

I too have Peloton but I wonder how the spin class would work with the original bike recognising the cadence / resistance metrics output from the sensors?

Not sure it would, perhaps on the Bike+ as it has GymKit.
It’s not going to be able to read the cadence and resistance metrics, but I would imagine the classes will be taught much like in-person classes - using metaphors (“muddier ride”) and direction (“faster” “slower” “on the beat.”)

And it goes even deeper than that. Calorie requirements are further broken down into protein, carbs and fats. Too many carbs = excess stored energy = you get fat.

The only “diet” that works is figuring out what amount of energy your body needs to lean out, maintain or build muscle, and like you said, that’s a complete lifestyle change.

It’s funny how so many people like to seek out custom mattresses and pillows, vitamins, hell even jeans, but something as basic and essential as the food they eat is totally neglected.

Do you all think we'll see an updated AppleTV come out this year? It seems that the last/updated AppleTV came out in 2017.

What exactly do you expect an update to bring asides some space in your wallet?
The current HD/4k models do exactly what they need to do flawlessly hardware wise.
(the actually apple tv app is a bit to chaotic for my last)
If you buy a 8k TV it likely offers the Apple TV App via it's AppStore so there is very little need for the Box unless you need that keyboard popping up on your iOS devices. Theres probably about three people that would dish out another 200$ to add an apple tv box to their uber 8k tv while there are plenty of movies/tv shows on the Store that don't even go beyond HD.

Everything that needs more power would be making it more of a gaming console. That might happen. That might increase the price. That might even be of the Table considering that people say arcade is not doing to great.
I think Prosser said gaming would be a thing in Apple Tv. But essentially that would be an entire different product (think price category).

What kind of holier-than-thou nonsense are you spewing in here?
It’s not quite nonsense. I’ve worked with a great number of clients who seek out a trainer just because they need the motivation and accountability of having someone guide them. For one of my clients, it’s as simple as committing to an appointment with someone that keeps him on track.

I am genuinely surprised how much outside motivation people need to take care of their own bodies.

People go to a gym, takes classes indoors and out, go to personal trainers. It is about added motivation and often getting the right benefit. You might be different of course but for most the effort you make using purely your own effort compared to that of following along or having a personal trainer are quite different and therefore much more beneficial.

There has been talk of a small upgrade to add the U1 chip (like HomePod mini) to allow close proximity integration with iPhone and Apple Watch. This could actually lead to interesting Fitness+ features such as monitoring movement and form during exercise.

Im waiting for this so I can justify paying $30 a month for the Apple One Plan.. Arcade and Newspaper doesn’t interest me.. but 2 TB, Music, Apple TV+ and Apple Fitness may make it worth it..
It was still cheaper for me to get the $30 plan without the Apple Fitness. That will just be icing on top when it comes out. And I didn’t have News either.

Watching people workout is not a motivation factor for me, I already work out 1.5-2 hours per day on average; however, my wife is very excited and looking forward to some of the yoga and cardio classes.

The One subscription in the UK is just too expensive. Basically they would be giving away the news and the fitness. I would have subscribed at £20 a month, but not £30. Just doesn't feel enough value

The mind boggles why a service like this would be region locked, when the Apple Watch is sold around the world and language is not a barrier either. Rights are fully owned by Apple. Distribution is fully digital. I just don’t get it.

It just feels so demeaning to Apple fans elsewhere. We’re trash to Apple.

Just my $0.02, but I think Apple should be using Phil Schiller as its Guinea Pig !

If it works for him, Apple could make Many Billions Off It !

My intent is NOT to slight Schiller, simply to point out that Apple has someone In-House that could be used as a Prime Example, if it works for him, that is.

Hey Cook, forget the third-party Celebs, & such, convince Schiller to give it a serious try !

Apple doesn’t need these services to do well. They have enough money to prop them up as loss leaders. That is a luxury most other companies don’t have.
So Apple’s ”services” can be loss leaders because they’re soaking big developers to prop up services revenues.

Apple News is not a good product.. Apple fitness would make the Apple one plan a better option because Apple News is just not moving units..

You’re making my point. The motivation should be looking good for yourself and not dying early.

Nice, trying to be a sneaky tattleteller..

But to stay on topic. Apple News is not a good product.. Apple fitness would make the Apple one plan a better option because Apple News is just not moving units..
People use Apple News a lot and is popular. Apple News+ may be a different story, but no on e but Apple really news.

I see commercials all the time for Noom. I wonder how well it works. For me personally having the Apple Watch and activity rings gives me motivation. I’ve gone 3 months now where I’ve closed my rings every day and now I want to keep it up. Some insurance companies are starting to offer programs that let you buy down your deductible based on certain metrics (walking, biking, swimming) from activity trackers. I like that. I think people need all the incentive they can get to be/stay healthy.
