The real question is, how many of these people will be bringing their new MBPs in for repairs after they fly out of their laps or off a table because MagSafe and the extension cables are no more?
This is funny. All the people saying how rubbish it is yet they've received a record amount of pre-orders.
Apple ARE doomed.
Why didn't the interviewer ask Phil about the lack of upgraded desktop Macs. That's so frustrating. I would like to know their reasoning for it. After all it was Phil who made the famous "cant innovate my ass" comment. The Mac Pro has not had a single upgrade since they released it 3 years ago.
Indeed. You can complain about the price (I call it first gen'itis' for redesigns and new product categories) and other Macs being left in the dark but that's all that's justifiable for complaining.People on here saying they won't buy the Mac but yet it's selling in records, someone is wrong here...
I and many others probably came here to say this same thing. It's like if they didn't update the iPhone for two years and then bragged "It's the best selling iPhone of all time!" even though sales were down across the board for the previous year. Some people might even argue that's happening right now and when they redesign next year they'll have record sales again and everything will be better, lol. As for me, I don't think the 7 is a bad upgrade at all and the Jet Black practically looks like a new design. But this overall trend is worrying. That's what happens when you don't friggin update them for ages and there's pent up demand. Duh...
"Changing brightness or volume is easier than ever"
Phil Shiller
You don't need a dongle to connect an iPhone, just a USB-C to lightning cable, which you can buy on Amazon quite easily.
Completely misleading. They have more orders online because they are not available in stores.
Schiller noted the new MacBook Pro still has a 3.5mm headphone jack because it is a "pro machine,"
Did you in fact get it? or are you just hoping it does not get cancelled? or was it a BB price match?
back on topic. The base 13" without TB performs nearly the same as the high end pro from last year.
People pulling the "I can't connect my iPhone!" argument are reaching. How did these people manage their iPhone before they bought this fancy new MacBook Pro? Does everyone sell their previous computer? And in the day of wireless, how many people *actually* connect their phone to their computer with a USB cord? I suspect the number is quite small, and there's a half dozen other Mac models out there that still have the older USB port. It's a weak argument, to say the least.
I think the "blind sheep" may be the ones dismissing this new hardware as unimpressive and overpriced before they've even had a chance to see it.
Apple is doomed, dooooomed!!Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller said the company has received more online orders for the new MacBook Pro so far than any previous-generation MacBook Pro
