A breastfeeding emoji? Why? I mean, I don't get the zebra one either so I guess it doesn't make any difference. Maybe the breastfeeding one would be used more than I think...

I'll be using it to convey "Suck on this!" in a family friendly manner. :)

Just remember folks, there's a team of designers at apple that after years of study, practice, college and building up a portfolio of amazing work, are now spending 12 hours a day sitting in front of an iMac drawing emoji full-time until they just can't take it anymore.

Why is Apple racist against people with blue and green eyes? At least why does Apple refuse to pressure the the emoji group to add blue and green eye emojis? I just shows that they aren't very sensitive to people-of-eye-color.

I love me an Emoji.

The mind-blown one will be used A LOT.

The dinosaur emoji sums up a lot of MacRumours posters :p although all the usual professional offended crowd are not here for some reason? An Emoji news story usually draws them out like puss from a septic wound.

Bring on animated Emoji!

The people who draw emoji are not the ones who would be working on the issues you want improved. Pretty sure with close to 100,000 people employed at Apple they can work on more than one thing at a time.

What if she needs a gun while breastfeeding?
Based on my drive through downtown Atlanta last night, that indeed may be a viable Emoji. I know that, for those that are into these things, there will never be a library of Emoji that satisfy everyone, but removing squirt guns because some might get a micro-agression from it, while leaving something like breastfeeding that you know will cause a micro-agression for someone else makes no sense.

A squirt gun will have to suffice.
I thought that the squirt gun was removed?

What on earth is a micro-aggression?

If there is a middle finger emoji then I would like to show it to Craig Federighi for not fixing macOS and iCloud photo library..

A valid question that I used to ask myself. Apparently this is the term for when someone that's overly sensitive is offended, bothered, or in some other way disturbed by something that they see or hear. And, by providing a label to it, seek to 1) push this off as the fault of the person/entity that offended them and 2) making it the responsibility of said entity to correct the situation.

In the old days we used to just ignore things that we disagreed with, but the times are a changing....

I wonder if there will be a micro-agression Emoji? I need to look to see if they have one already.

Apart from the political bickering these are likely to engender, I think emoji best served their purpose when they were simple and captured universal human emotions and common objects. The classic "yellow" emoji was chosen precisely because that color doesn't look like any human skin color and therefore has the potential to represent anyone. Also, past a certain point the more visual detail an emoji gets, the more ambiguity it introduces into the concept being communicated. Case in point: the only way to know the breastfeeding mother is actually breastfeeding is to look closely at the curve of her neckline -- something most people probably won't do. I therefore would expect that one to be commonly confused for simply a mother holding her child. And once the meaning of an emoji is unclear, it's probably not the best way to communicate anything.

Not sure why you are surprised. Politically correct Apple was going to add a Breastfeeding emoji eventually. Honestly I can't wait for the male Breastfeeding emoji. :p
Why even have a male or female emoji. Isn't that insulting to those that are some other gender?

Ah.. Now that High Sierra and iOS 11 are just perfect.. here come the infamous Emojis..again!!
