Camera is fine in full sunlight. But in anything out of direct sun, you have to stand like a tripod or there's camera shake. The 13pro didn't have this problem. And no Im not shaking the camera. It's just really not suited to being a camera on a mobile phone.

That is certainly not true with my 16PM. It’s a great camera!

I always thought it was weird that the iPhone 16 announcement almost entirely focused on Apple Intelligence and features that wouldn’t be available at release.

It was already weird that they said / implied it would only be available on iPhone 16. I was kind of okay with it given at least the features and improvements seemed fairly substantial. However, now over half a year later with those promises and features still not delivered, nor any actual timeline or commitment to deliver and it was basically all smoke and mirrors.

How is this really any different than Nikola rolling an electric semi down a hill and saying they developed an electric semi truck and collecting orders.

I’ve been a long time Apple supporter, but I feel duped on this one. Did I upgrade solely because of Apple Intelligence? No, I had an iPhone 13 Pro Max that was still working just fine I had for a few years already. But would I have upgraded to the iPhone 16 Pro Max if it were portrayed as the minor processor changed and no big Apple Intelligence features, also no.

It was a big reason for why I upgraded vs waiting for iPhone 17 or more susbtantial changes. On that basis, Apple clearly misled consumers (whether purposefully or accidentally) and should pay for that / make things right.

I would even be fine with advantageous iPhone 16 trade in prices for iPhone 17 when it comes out. Maybe additional $200-300 if trading in to Apple than normal.

Apple has been hit with at least two more proposed class action lawsuits over its delayed personalized Siri features for iPhones.

Apple-More-Personal-Siri-Ad.jpg

In the U.S., a complaint filed in a California federal court this week alleges that Apple violated false advertising and unfair competition laws by marketing Apple Intelligence upgrades for Siri that are still not available. The two named plaintiffs said they never would have purchased or been willing to pay as much for an iPhone 16 had they known that Apple's marketing surrounding the features was false and misleading.

Apple advertised the Siri features in product presentations, on its website, in a TV commercial starring actor Bella Ramsey, and elsewhere.

Apple was already sued over the delayed Siri features in California last month, and the class action lawsuits could eventually be merged if they proceed.

A similar complaint was filed against Apple last week in the Canadian province of British Columbia.

Apple first previewed the personalized Siri features during its WWDC 2024 keynote last June, as part of a wide range of Apple Intelligence features that it said would be rolling out over the course of the following year. That gave Apple until WWDC 2025 this June to roll out the Siri features, but last month the company announced that it needed more time and anticipated rolling out the features at some point "in the coming year" from then.

The features were initially expected to launch in iOS 18.4 last week, but they are now expected to arrive at some point during the iOS 19 cycle. Many well-connected Apple reporters and observers believe the features will not be available until 2026.

Whenever they launch, the Siri upgrades will include understanding of a user's personal context, on-screen awareness, and deeper per-app controls. For example, during its WWDC 2024 keynote, Apple showed an iPhone user asking Siri about their mother's flight and lunch reservation plans based on info from the Mail and Messages apps.

The class action lawsuits in the U.S. and Canada are both seeking damages from Apple, in an amount to be proven at trial, so class members who purchased an iPhone 16 in order to use the personalized Siri features could eventually receive a payout from Apple, if the judges presiding over each case find that the company broke the law.

Apple's lawyers have yet to respond to any of the lawsuits.

ChatGPT has already cooked and is the meta for this AI thing Apple has already failed with the Apple Intelligence now I don’t know what their ideas with the Siri are nor anyone does except them but probably not good, their best bet it to start working with other companies and make Siri breathable at least cause if they want to stay arrogant within inside their own walls and work by the elves they soon gonna for real be stuck inside those walls alone.

I remember back in the early 90's, there was a concept video of a guy verbally interacting with a future Mac using his voice. Sparks the imagination, but it was just fiction and clearly so. Now it's part of the developer conference of the new OS and a TV ad for the phone. When I was a kid I'd see that and think "gee whiz!" but now I have to remember it's BS.

OMG, we will sue about everything. Next, someone will sue because we have AI in our phones..ugh!
Might be true, but To be fair, Apple did set a certain level of expectation with their advertising and promotions of iPhone 16 that beta or not these were KEY features. Setting that expectation and not delivering is exactly what got them to this point.

I normally hate these class-action suits, but I feel like Apple should refund 50% of my iPhone cost, this is the only reason I upgraded and it's still not available. By the time it's released, they will claim you need the newer iPhone. It's ridiculous.

Since AI is vaporware, we have looked for and disabled every Apple Intelligence reference we can find on every Apple device we have. Sadly, the AI memory use seems not to be released by the disabling efforts.

We have max memory options on all iDevices so it is not a real issue for us.

We at least 64GB of Ram memory or more on the Mac Book Pros my wife and I have.

Her four daughters have nano displays, 20 core GPUs, 48GB of Ram and 4TB SSDs in their M4 Pro MacBook Pros.

So if AI comes alive in 2026 or 2027, we can see if it is anything we wish to use on our devices as we have the necessary power for the job as far as we know now.

Inexcusable? If one were to believe the MR sentiment, nobody wants AI and they all disabled it. I highly doubt that AI was a selling point to the iPhone 16.

Can’t wait for that to come out in court.
So Apple is going to say in court people aren’t buying the latest iPhones because of Apple Intelligence? Even though their marketing uses the tagline ‘Built for Apple Intelligence’? And does it matter if the issue is they put a feature in an ad that doesn’t exist?

This got me wondering…was next gen CarPlay ever demoed to anyone? I think at this point we have to assume if Apple doesn’t demo something — either in a keynote or to the press afterwards — it doesn’t exist. When the company was doing live keynotes it was harder to get away with. Now that all their keynotes are highly polished pre-recorded videos they can get away with anything.

That’s because people are rebelling. If you tell them they can’t have it, then they want it. That’s human nature unfortunately
You’re generalizing too much.

I am a person. I wanted Apple Intelligence. I traded in my precious 13 mini for it. Now parts are delayed until who knows when, and I’ve turned it off.

If I had not had it on from the beginning, I would still think Apple should be sued over this. That’s part of how consumer protection works in the US.

Not the first Apple mistake, but definitely the first time Apple ‘faked’ a presentation of features. That practice has to stop.

Who ever greenlit that commercial showing off a feature that doesn’t exist needs to be fired.

I knew as soon as I saw how hard they were hitting with that Apple commercial all last autumn—the one with the parents insinuating sexual acts with their phones or whatever—that it would never happen. As a company you basically jinx yourself if you advertise vaporware that hard. Adding on top of that it’s Apple, AI, and Siri—it was always a recipe for disaster.

It’s going to be really funny to see how they tiptoe around that whole fiasco in the WWDC Keynote. You can only show off “new Siri” so many times. I’ll be pretty surprised if we have anything near as advanced as what they showed off last June by this time next year.

The upside is we'll hopefully avoid some newer AI features being iPhone 17 or iPhone 18 exclusive, with pressure from the legal team to make more features work on the iPhone 16 models.

Apple intelligence works in my iPhone 15PM. Maybe not the penultimate version but it works. Is “built for Apple intelligence” a slogan, similar “ford tough”. If an f-150 breaks down is there going to be a class action lawsuit!

Good question.

Apple Intelligence is listed on every iPhone 16 advertisement. People don’t have the patience for your fanboyism today. Maybe another day.

Apple Intelligence was a scrape goat that would’ve been an update that had literally nothing relevant compared to last year’s model.
