It's the Year of the Bore, I mean Boar.
(Truly, today's the first day of the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Oink.)

Kind of like their Mac lineup and the way they treat their “Pro Customers” - old and sad
Yeah, well, welcome to the new reality. Mac is doing great, but they don't need to be updated like iPhones. Much smaller business.

I’m going to start a petition to rename the forums of macrumors to MacHaters. Due to the jaded, sceptical, navel gazing miserable, fun hating posters on here. What a glum lot.

Fun is fine; but not when you have neglected a very important user base for the last 4 years; a user base I might add stuck by them with the semi painful 680xx > PowerPC transition and the more painful PowerPC > Intel transition.

I will disagree, Macs DO need to be upgraded or at least have the ability to be upgraded. Apple's current eco system is a tragedy to the environment; all the green materials and green buildings and green nish is moot if you throw the entire box away every couple of years.

My niece just bought a non-retina MacBook Air (yuck) and she's extremely happy with it. She was busy showing it off to everyone at family dinner.

2019 ain't like 1999, when desktop power still doubled every 18 months. Nowadays you're lucky to get a 15% increase. Pro stuff aside, most customers are happy with what's available. Enthusiasts are the minority, even though they're the majority here.

This utterly pointless incrementalism will be Apple’s downfall.

How many people are actually excited about this, 4?

I bet a lot of kids enjoy them. Kids drive parents nuts, iPads with Animoji placate them.Furthermore cartoons and animation are big parts of peoples lives in places like Asia. More people probably care about Animoji than a more powerful Mac Pro. I am getting my first IOS device that will be able to do them tomorrow. Can you let me have my little moment of fun?

I checked up those Animoji’s when got my new XR.
But I already forgot about them....ooooppppsss.

Yes, they can release these AND work on the Mac.

Well it has become really obvious to a lot of us that 'no' they can't. Why? Because they allocate all of the QA time and money to the emoji team. It's the only releases that seem to work correctly at release time (well, at least these days, back awhile even that was not the case.)

You couldn’t be more wrong. Again, you’re conflating ideas.

Cute, but I'm holding my breath for a better iOS. Opening two documents at the same time; more powerful file management, access to external drives; easier transfer of photos and videos from professional cameras to the iPad; FinalCut for iPad Pro, seamless project handover to FinalCut desktop; and so on. You know, a real operating system. The current iOS was designed for the iPhone 3G, not for the iPad Pro.

When Timmy dies, there will be an Animoji on his grave

Nice! Me and my family love using the Animojis! :D

People need to calm down! If you don’t like them, don’t use them.
You all must have exceptional IQs

Yeah... conflation is the right word here. Like... typing this forum post hasn’t stopped me eating today... because why would it? The two things are unrelated, other than both they are things I did today.

This is my favourite post in the thread so far, because you have treated the subject with the seriousness it undoubtedly demands. I hope you soon receive all the turtles any iOS user hope to could handle.

You can't change people's incorrect perceptions that the 10 people working at Apple (3 if you take away the management team), can either design/develop Macs, or design develop the Apple Watch, or design/develop iphones and IOS. It's clear Apple is single-threaded and can only do one thing at a time.

Just what every adult needs, another set of animal anijomis — Yippee! :)

Seriously, I used this once when it came out, just to say I did. This shouldn’t even be an article on MacRumors.

Why not? Every time MR posts about emoji or animoji they get tons of posts just like yours. That’s called engagement. Advertisers like it. Everyone saying “that’s a waste of time...they need to put those engineers on X instead” makes MR more money.
