The iPad honeymoon is about to begin!

I'm afraid were going to be waist deep amid insufferable iPad euphoria stories for the next couple of weeks.

Maybe when that dies down in a couple of weeks Apple can get back to its core customers and update it's MBP and Mac Pro.

Come on Apple... Pricing info, availability info, release date, pre-order dates, come on give the UK something!

It still amazes me that Apple is releasing a gimped product. A product that could easily today have a camera, and usb ports, and multitasking, but doesn't because if they add those features 2 years later, they can make more money. It's pretty sad. A product that easily could have been the device for techies and casuals, but nope. We just get a large iPod with some new apps.

And fan boys will buy it by the droves, and when apple releases another one with a front facing camera they will buy that one too.

No kidding Apple could have changed computing for ever, instead they just furthered their control over the user by deciding what they can and can not do.

Well personally I carry private and finantial doc's on my mem stick and transfer stuff from my work and home pc on it. I have mobile me but our work firewall screws it up beyond usable. So try to think a bit more less blinkered when making such sweeping statements as to why no one needs something.
B

There are ways to get your files on the iPad that don't involve using a memory stick. Also, you can't expect every product to fit everyone's needs and desires.

Wow! This is a whole new fanboi angle. "You hate the iPad cos you're poor"
That has got to be one of the crassest comments I've ever seen on this board.
Stop acting like a child, Marcus has made a valid point and all you can do is make ignorant jibes about finances and geography.

I'm a fanboy? lol

You obviously haven't seen many of my posts. Of course you seem to now be playing the guilt card on me. Did it ever strike you as odd the Marcus was ready to post the moment he saw this thread begin, but he claims to have no interest in the product. Does that appear to be the behavior of a person who truly doesn't care? It's simple psychology. If someone really didn't care they wouldn't bother trolling up a thread the day the device comes out. The time for such comments was back when the device was revealed. He clearly has interest in the iPad, so I pointed that out and gave two examples of why he might be feeling the need to behave like he was. Of course you chose to cling to one of the examples I gave, so you could play up how cruel and "crass" I am. Please. Save your outrage for your greenpeace blog.

Waiting in line...

Can't wait, even if I'm not getting one, I want to see the YouTube videos of people talking about their iPads! :)

This story proves how much MacRumors has been over run by people who would rather "hate" on Apple and those who enjoy their products.

The iPad's launch day is mentioned, and there's 39 negatives.

What's so negative about Apple launching the iPad today?

Get a grip ffs.

No kidding Apple could have changed computing for ever

And they have - it seems you just can't see it.

They have brought iPhone levels of usability to a portable computer big enough to spend hours reading/browsing that is comfortable to hold in one hand.

That is what most ordinary people (IE not techies) want; a computer that you can turn on and off like a calculator, browse the web without having to learn about things like booting up.

If you want a modbook - buy one.
Not many do.

I think it may have something to do with the fact that EVERYONE else is waiting, so technically the ipad 'hasn't arrived'!

Would have been so much more exciting If the rest of the world wasn't shunned, hey?

It's still not a negative story ... it's not even that much of a positive story, it's just the iPad's launch day.

This site, for being for Apple news, really does attract the most amount of trolls I've seen on a forum.

Hmm. Thanks for confirming one of my suspicions about the negativity in this thread.

Posts like this are just hilarious to see time and time again. As if the iPad having a USB port would just make it so much better? What could you possibly be SO desperate to plug into this thing? The same goes for the camera. I simply don't believe such things are really as important as you make them out to be.

Honestly, I just see people like you as likely jealous that your country isn't getting it today, or you don't have the money for one right now. Your excuses sound like fake excuses for your supposed lack of interest, but yet you still find it important enough that you post about it moments after this thread is created. Oh, and everyone knows mulitasking is coming with the 4.0 firmware in a few months. Not 2 years. lol

Completely agree!

I remember in the early 90's when the ISDN era began and predicted "everyone using video telephony" soon.... and? I only know very few people using video chats even now that it's much more available and at much better quality... only people far away from families and friends sometimes.

Honestly... did you EVER see ANYONE having a video call on their mobile phone?? Like in the vodafone ad? In my opinion it's just a feature anyone tries ONCE and never really does it again.

Well I don't know about everyone else but I'm an apple fan who's dissapointed by the way the rest of the world has been treated about this product!

Turn the tables, if America didn't have a date, and had to pay more for a product when it finally does arrive, how do you feel?

The lack of info for everyone comes across as though we're not important markets in Apple Sales! When infact we are!

I'm not a troll! I'm just not looking through things with rose tinted glasses! I love apple stuff, just annoyed! Everyone is allowed their view!

Obviously no American is going to care, you've got the ipad..good for you!

How nice - the Apple store guys (and gals) have coffee for those of us in line.

Gotta love Apple.

I think Steve Jobs explained the reasons for leaving out what he did pretty well in the Time Magazine article this week. I think users of the iPad will be pleasantly surprised.

How many of these bloody things do you think they could churn out between announcing it and releasing it. They have a limited number available for launch and they choose to aim them at their biggest, most developed market. What do you honestly think will create a critical mass in mindshare for this product, selling 10000 units in 100 different countries in one day or selling one million in the US in one day. I'm gagging for it to be released in Australia, but I also know the better it does in the US the better it will do globally.

These over prices apps are hilarious. Absolute crap.

$5 for a TIME magazine app? I wouldn't download that propaganda if they paid me. Games for $10?? Give me a break.

It'll be a while before the apps step up. Most of these are probably just mildly expanded iPhone apps.

I actually do feel bad for those of you who want an iPad today but have to wait. I was only commenting about the people who show up in this thread to declare how "disappointed" they are in the iPad, but yet they seem to be following every thread about it, and posting how they're not intrested in it.

If you're upset about it not coming out in your country today I completely understand. I would feel the same way, and I have in the past when Japanese videogame companies have launched their games or consoles in Japan first. It's hard to watch from afar as something exciting comes out. People should just be honest about their feelings.

$10 or a game is completely reasonable.
How about the $30+ for a Nintendo DS game!

We're not talking the iPhone here. $10 for a game is reasonable. Bigger screen, better games, etc.
