Our good fortune. But when you ask a question like that, please knock on wood.Did the haters finally give up here? It's amazing that most of the posts here are of excitement for the upcoming iPad. This is totally a 180 from the day it was announced to the world. What changed?
The first iPad release won't impact AT&T since it will be the Wi-Fi only model.

Steve's illness damaged the RDF. It still works but takes longer.
Free Case or keyboard adapter for the iPad would be nice or maybe $100.00 off an iMac when you buy the iPad to generate sales

I don't think that you're correct that they *never* do pre-orders - other posters pointed out that they allowed pre-orders for the 3g and 3gs, but not the original iPod. The "notify-me when this item is available for order" option on the web gives me some hope that they will.
I really hope that they do allow pre-orders as I live a hell of a long way from the US and any Apple store. My plan is to order it as soon as it's possible to and have it delivered to my in-laws and then have them DHL it on to me.

I suspect that means that anyone buying an iPad from an Apple retail store on launch day will get a special gift. Unless they run out of iPads and/or gifts. It's unrelated to the time you get in line.

I have to say waiting in line for the iPhone with my daughter was a great experience and I will never forget it. BUT, I will not be waiting in line in Ohio in March for the iPad. I will just pre-order.

I honestly don't think camping out is going to be necessary. I can't wait to get my iPad but most people I don't think will want/have the means to get one on day 1. Ill get there early enough in the day to make sure I score my 64gb but I don't think I'll have any issue what so ever.
