Apple could obviously sell ice to a penguin.
But what does that have to do with AirPods?

It’s not just any ice though. It’s Apple Ice. Therefore you’ll pay a premium but it’s worth every penny due to the thinner, faster and lighter design of the ice. Johnny Ive and his team spent minutes formulating the magical design of the ice in order to deliver the best ice experience penguins could ever hope to achieve. Until next year when Apple Ice 2 is released featuring a redesigned IceOS interface.
Yeah, because Apple is the only company in the world to ever update their products, and market their new products as better than their older products.
Literally never in the history of companies, or products, did anyone even think of pulling a stunt like that until Apple did.

you must not know teenagers. A coworker is always complaining about his teenager loosing charging cables.
So what is your point? That charging cables are a bad product because careless teenagers sometimes lose them?

No, what he appears to be implying is that people (especially people on this forum) will pay a large amount of money for something that costs a small fraction to manufacture even if it means they have to go into debt.
Yes, I have bought a lot of apple branded products; ever since I bought my first Mac Classic (1991).
No - he was clearly saying that people are idiots for buying something they don't need.

Still not understanding how they sell that well based on form facto alone. They’re hideous.
You can't understand that people might have a different opinion to you?

I care very much . Though having long hair at the moment, it's okay.
So you honestly believe apple owners don't care about form?
How long have you been an apple user ?
If the argument is that AirPods look stupid, then clearly people using them don't consider form as important a factor as function and convenience.
But for what its worth, I don't think they look stupid, I still have a pair of Bowers & Wilkins, but love my AirPods in a few use case scenarios - the winter, when I wear my beanie hat; the gym; or watching Netflix late at night. In none of those scenarios am I that bothered about form. Its not like they are, I dunno, a fairly big all in one computer sat on my desk, where I would probably consider form more than a small pair of earphones that I can't see while I am using them.

Really? I've never tested them and never will. Unless they bring out a model that never needs charging.
I get Bluetooth headphones and other than the 'convenience' of not having to plug them in I have the inconvenience of having to charge them. With these Airpods I have the added benefit of being able to loose them independently of each other.
The convenience of not having wires every day I use them far outweighs the inconvenience of having to charge the case overnight once a week or less.
I don't really consider the possibility of losing them an inconvenience - I could just as easily lose my phone. But then, I don't find it that difficult to pop them back in the case when I'm not using them, and pop the case back in my pocket.

A suggestion:

Apple AirPods look good and have obvious advantages, and very competitively priced.
Is that a real product, or an April Fool?

They must have been massive demand for them because they were only a week to shipping before.
Makes you wonder if there isn't some holiday coming up, where people tend to buy more presents for people than any other time of the year. They should give it a name!
