It’s not just any ice though. It’s Apple Ice. Therefore you’ll pay a premium but it’s worth every penny due to the thinner, faster and lighter design of the ice. Johnny Ive and his team spent minutes formulating the magical design of the ice in order to deliver the best ice experience penguins could ever hope to achieve. Until next year when Apple Ice 2 is released featuring a redesigned IceOS interface.
Hope the Apple Ice 2 comes without a notch.

Here are the headphones I own.

Haven’t touched them since I got my Airpods.

All junk, crying laughing....

Wake me when they sound as good as $25 Xiaomi wired earphones.

If the quality of the music is so low I have no reason to even be listening to music, that sort of defeats any point in using such a device.

Convenient sure. But bluetooth sucks for many other reasons.
[doublepost=1513573070][/doublepost]

Anyone who says the sound quality is even livable is embarrassing themselves.
By the looks of how well they are selling, there must be millions of embarrassed people!

If you were planning to purchase AirPods as a last-minute holiday gift, it may be challenging to find a pair in time for Christmas.

airpods.jpg

Apple's wireless earphones are currently estimated for delivery in early January if ordered today from Apple's online store in the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, and several other countries.

AirPods are also currently out of stock at most of Apple's retail stores around the world, and at authorized resellers such as Best Buy, Macy's, Target, Walmart, and Verizon in the United States. Bottom line: they're hard to find anywhere.

At $159, AirPods are a more affordable gift idea than many Apple products, which may be causing stronger demand than Apple can keep up with.

If you are still hunting for AirPods, there may be one option. AT&T appears to have stock on its website, but you may have to pay an extra $14.95 for express delivery within 2-3 business days, and there is no guarantee they'll arrive before Christmas.

Other gifts available by Christmas for under $200, and that an Apple fan is likely to appreciate, include the Apple TV 4K, BeatsX, an official Apple-branded iPhone case, Apple Watch bands, or simply an Apple Store or Apple Music gift card.

Apple's online store is now offering free next-day delivery for all in-stock items ordered by 3 p.m. local time on December 22 in the United States.

I flew internationally this week I saw them everywhere. I say this is a hit product. I know I love mine.

I am waiting on seeing if they start giving the wireless charging case along with. Not going to buy just for wireless charging, the little LED is the attraction. Otherwise, they are available in my country, for roughly $200 (price conversion from Rupee to USD).

Are you from India? If yes, during these sales on Amazon and flipkart they become a lot cheaper. They were available for 9000 INR on flipkart! Color me surprised. I had absolutely no need to buy them from outside of India!

Embarrassing to look silly wearing them. Embarrassing to call the sound quality even decent.

Not just to buy them. Not what I'm saying. Even intelligent people have to to make compromises.

I’m a bit worried about how long they’ll last. Had mine since January and they are becoming unreliable, either one stops working and I have to put back in case or re-pair to get working.

In China, it ships in 7 days.

In that company, the AirPods Would shine SQ wise .

The SQ is that of £30 EarPods . Simple. Though ita convenience and not SQ you are paying for.

I use mine for gym mainly, they are brilliant , best gym headphones I have owned . And I praise them heaps on here.

They also look goofy, if they were not apple, the usual suspects here would be critising the looks . Though as it's Apple, suddenly form does not matter .... had a few Laughs on this thread .

Though in all seriousness, good luck finding better headphones for gym, I have not .

Apple could obviously sell ice to a penguin.

And there is a huge reason for that.
[doublepost=1513579029][/doublepost]
I don't care for the white look. When they come in black I will consider them.

I think when it comes to AirPod's they are not about look but convenience. I do pretty much all activities (including running) with them on without issues. I just forget they are there and listen to the music. Far more convenient then anything of this kind I have used up to now.
[doublepost=1513579430][/doublepost]
Still not sure how I feel about how they look.

I am. They look exactly the same as the EarPods that have been in iPhone boxes for years. Minus the wire. And that minus wire is the selling point for me.

Had the exact same issues with my left one. Took it into apple, they replaced it. All good again.

I picked up a pair of Studio 2s [...] and they sound amazing.
Beats? "Amazing sound"? You probably never listened to a good pair of headphones from a reputable company (such as e.g. AKG, Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser etc.) in that business ...

Which headphones would fulfill the "not goofy" category then, when worn in public? Huge over-ear cans? Headphones with cables dangling around? In-ear knobs that look like hearing aids?

Or is it simply that the AirPods get so much more attention than other headphones, due to their white color?

I don't have them (yet) but I got my husband a pair for his birthday and he uses them all the time. I really like them too, although I probably wouldn't have wanted to spend the money on them before getting the iPhone X. My previous iPhone had an audio jack, which allowed me to use my phone while charging it and listening to audio through the headphones all at the same time. Without the audio jack that's no longer possible and I am now desperate for a pair of Airpods. I think they will become more and more popular as more people switch to iPhones without audio jacks.

Yes, they are pretty much the the same as the wired headset, just minus the wires. The stems are just a bit thicker. Why would they look silly then? I don't get people thinking they look silly simply because they are wireless.

Another news article playing on Apple’s hype of running out. These are available at almost every major retailer in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis) including Best Buy and target. Definitely not running out for Christmas. I’m sure every other major city is just like mine. Don’t panic because you’re read something like this.

Hope that’s the case here. Target is showing they have none locally (every single store). Same with Best Buy. I have a feeling none are going to be under the tree here,

The W1 chip is great, I'm really happy with my BeatsX.
I went for them because they're in ear and provide much more isolation. I hope they'll make an in ear version of AirPods in the future, it would be a great fit to me

Frenzy doesn’t equate to sales. Everyone I know that has an iPhone is drooling over the X. But none of they buy it. Everyone is either going with the 7 or the 8. The first thing they all mention is that $1k starting price.
No one buys them, right. I did three day after they went on sale replacing a 6, and 2 6 Plus iphones. So three generations bought the “no one buys them” model. Love it. And AirPods. Someone interrupts while watching Netflix? Pop out one AirPod and it auto pauses. Put it back it resumes.
Awesome product.

Internals just keep incrementally improving. Better drivers in the wireless ones. But seriously, if I want good sound I use my etymotics.

Buying wired earphones—no matter how cheap they are—is an utter waste of money if what one needs are wireless ones.
And this is not a waste of money when all someone needs is a pair of earphones free from charging and easy to manage. Oh, also, no interference.

I really don’t like them - the design or the function; or the sound on testing them.

But clearly a lot of people do like them. I guess head/ear-phones are as much a personal choice

The "Trabbant" was a super popular car in Nazi East Germany, in fact it was the only car.

But what does that have to do with AirPods?

Yeah, because Apple is the only company in the world to ever update their products, and market their new products as better than their older products.

Literally never in the history of companies, or products, did anyone even think of pulling a stunt like that until Apple did.
[doublepost=1513588369][/doublepost]
you must not know teenagers. A coworker is always complaining about his teenager loosing charging cables.

So what is your point? That charging cables are a bad product because careless teenagers sometimes lose them?
[doublepost=1513588471][/doublepost]
No, what he appears to be implying is that people (especially people on this forum) will pay a large amount of money for something that costs a small fraction to manufacture even if it means they have to go into debt.
Yes, I have bought a lot of apple branded products; ever since I bought my first Mac Classic (1991).

No - he was clearly saying that people are idiots for buying something they don't need.
[doublepost=1513588756][/doublepost]
Still not understanding how they sell that well based on form facto alone. They’re hideous.

You can't understand that people might have a different opinion to you?
[doublepost=1513589327][/doublepost]
I care very much . Though having long hair at the moment, it's okay.

So you honestly believe apple owners don't care about form?

How long have you been an apple user ?

If the argument is that AirPods look stupid, then clearly people using them don't consider form as important a factor as function and convenience.

But for what its worth, I don't think they look stupid, I still have a pair of Bowers & Wilkins, but love my AirPods in a few use case scenarios - the winter, when I wear my beanie hat; the gym; or watching Netflix late at night. In none of those scenarios am I that bothered about form. Its not like they are, I dunno, a fairly big all in one computer sat on my desk, where I would probably consider form more than a small pair of earphones that I can't see while I am using them.
[doublepost=1513589993][/doublepost]
Really? I've never tested them and never will. Unless they bring out a model that never needs charging.

I get Bluetooth headphones and other than the 'convenience' of not having to plug them in I have the inconvenience of having to charge them. With these Airpods I have the added benefit of being able to loose them independently of each other.

The convenience of not having wires every day I use them far outweighs the inconvenience of having to charge the case overnight once a week or less.

I don't really consider the possibility of losing them an inconvenience - I could just as easily lose my phone. But then, I don't find it that difficult to pop them back in the case when I'm not using them, and pop the case back in my pocket.

Apple AirPods look good and have obvious advantages, and very competitively priced. :D

Is that a real product, or an April Fool? :D
[doublepost=1513590417][/doublepost]
They must have been massive demand for them because they were only a week to shipping before.

Makes you wonder if there isn't some holiday coming up, where people tend to buy more presents for people than any other time of the year. They should give it a name! :p

I’ve just now started seeing some of these in the wild. Still not sure how I feel about how they look.

Agreed. Am too seeing them now everywhere. I’ve saud this before. These are a blockbuster and once they go into other colors they’ll reach iPod status. I too say next to the Watch it’s one of Apples best in a while
