Well, if you consider that they currently sell just the stand for 1000$, they are basically giving away the display for free.$1000 for a 24 inch display is laughable. Apple has totally lost any sense of reality when it comes to their prices.
It must be a matte display. Glossy sux.I'm so old, I remember those days when if you had a 14" 1024x768 LCD monitor you were the envy of everyone else.
As for Apple, I really hope someone is paying attention to eye strain issues with all their new displays.
As I recall that would have been bigger than what i used in the late 60’s. With a dial up 960 baud modemPffft. I used a 12” CRT standard television set with my Apple II+ and a cassette tape player to load software... until the Disk II came out. So there. ?

Here’s the latest Dell UltraSharp 27” 4K display. (U2723QE)
Priced at about $800 USD.
I really can’t see Apple competing at this price point.
My guess it they’ll go after the semi-pro market, willing to pay $2500 to pair with the new high-end Mac mini.
And for current M1 Mac mini owners, they’ll suggest you get a 24” iMac or new 27” iMac (probably $3K).
I wish that were true but in reality we have worse options at much cheaper prices. 4K doesn’t cut it. The LG Ultrafine is not well madeBetter options at lower prices. Typical Apple overpriced stuff. Assuming Mark “Guesser” Gurman is even in the ballpark, which he often is not…

My guess, prices will start at $750.
48" LG C1 is currently $1200. Maybe the new 42" LG C2 will be ~$1K.
Just release something alongside the new Mini. I’m sure there will be a sub-$1000 option available.
then you don’t need it…
you could just buy a 40” TN Panel LCD 4K Panel for about £350. There is a reason production monitors are expensive.

Hot. Cakes. These will sell like hot cakes. I personally know so many people that are desperately waiting for a lower-priced Apple display. Instant buy!
"Consumer friendly" at $2500? With friends like this, who needs enemies?
HAHAHAHAHA! And Apple-branded monitor for sub $400?? HAHAHAHAHA!Take the price of a Mac mini, keyboard and mouse from the iMac and it comes out to be around $399. That would make a killer price for an Apple 4.5k display.
Again. Apple is not going to sell a 27” 4K display. That is only about 160 DPI. That’s not even close to Retina resolution.View attachment 1959078

I have the u2720q and while it is a great monitor especially for the price and on its own, but when I have it next to my 2019 27” iMac it just isn’t as good. 5K does make a difference.View attachment 1959078
