Seeing as I am an iPhone owner and user, I think I’m entitled to share my views here thank you. I’m not the one belittling fellow iPhone users and suggesting any iPhone below the X is cheap Kia and bragging my phone is akin to a BMW. Your comparisons, not mine.

Who can tell? They all look the same.

Point is, free Android iPhone knockoffs are available everywhere. A buttered roll costs more than an Android.
Point is, you were asked to show specific android phones and you didn't. Who can tell? Anybody since the phones are labeled in the add you posted. LOL

You got to make an even comparison between flagships. iPhone vs Android flag ships(S8, Note 8).

This offer is being advertised all over TV, you can’t escape the commercials for crappy free Android phones this Christmas. No surprise they have to give them away to compete with iPhone. That’s what cheap knockoffs are for.

Still waiting for a link or image showing a Galaxy s8+, Note 8 or XZ Premium advertised for free on a budget plan.

How does that saying go? Something like put up or shut up...

iPhone owners could care less about Android, we have no idea what an S7 or a Note 8 are.

All we know about Android is that they give them away for free to people who sign a two year contract with one of the budget carriers.
Since when are you the spokesperson for us? You do NOT speak for me. If you want to post your own opinion, feel free to do so.
And to answer your comment about not knowing about S7 or Note 8 and not knowing what they are? Pure gibberish. Many iphone owners I know are keeping an eye on Android because they are truly competition for their iPhones and many of the folks I know personally are always on the lookout for good products and prices. Apple's battery/slowing scandal has opened some folks eyes to the fact that infallible Apple, isn't. Pixels, Pixel 2's, Note 8, S8, HTC, phones are talked about quite a lot. One thing a savvy consumer does is keep their eye on the competition. Apple beat the market and released the first smartphone. But in the years since, Android has caught up and even surpassed iOS.
What does keep us in the  camp is the ecosystem. But even folks like myself who have owned iPhone's since day 1 are wondering what happened to "it just works".

The X seems to be appealing to the core fan base, but so many people I know are either sticking with their current iPhone or going to another phone vendor. In our office not a single person out of 30 is remotely interested in the X. Of these, about 3/4 are iPhone users. Five of those (including me) have switched to an S8 or Note 8. In past years, there was a palpable excitement about the new phones. This round has fallen very flat. Where does Apple go from here? Yes, the X is selling well overall, but Apple is losing its mojo and edge as they slowly run out of ideas. Are the exciting days gone? Is the iPhone just another phone to most people outside of the fan base?

I think there are few factors:
1) Price, not many ppl will shell out $1000 just to say they got the latest phone.

2) Size. Phone is great for non plus users. Prob would have sold more if there was a plus size also.

3) Features. Every phone has its own upgrades. But to the general public all Apple really shows them is they can unlock with their face. And send poop Animoji. Not really worth spending $1000 for that.

4) I also think ppl are getting like me. We just don’t have to have the latest phone. Unless your phone is really old, on its last leg. A lot of us don’t see why we should get a new one.

5) That wow factor. Unlike some of you here who would kill for everything Apple when it first comes out. I don’t think the iPhone has that wow factor anymore. It used to be that it was a big deal to carry around an iPhone. Now, anyone, their, mom, their granny, their dog has an iPhone. So it isn’t quite the draw it used to be. It will always be a very quality product. But not quite what it was one point. Saturating the market with iPhones have done that.

Just saw a Verizon commercial. Buy 1 iPhone 8 and get 1 free.

Have you found any links showing networks giving away a free Note 8 or S8+ on budget plans yet?

Seriously, what's wrong with people? Buy whatever the fark you want. You like Android, you use Android. You like iOS, you use iOS. Stop whining on the internet about it LOL.

Fanboys on both sides suck.

I wouldn’t say it’s about so much as being a fanboy as someone trying to convince a person who is happy with their device that there is something wrong with it and that if they like everything about it then there is something wrong or “your blind” etc.

If you like something great I’m not going to try to convince you why you should not like it. We all like the things we like and if people could respect that the world would be a better place.

It also a thread that welcomes opinions of all types too. Those that are thrilled to bits with the X and those that aren’t. We are all here to express our opinions and rather than getting narked that not everybody thinks it’s brilliant, try and embrace opinions that may be different from your own. Everybody is welcome to post here, it’s not for just one type of opinion.

Except in this case his arrogant superior attitude is offending iPhone users as well...

Did anyone see his signature. Not only putting the price of his devices but then he has trophy wife and beach house. He can’t be for real.

Which is fine. I just feel if you don’t like it great I won’t try to convince you to but In turn if someone likes the notch etc they shouldn’t have be grilled as to why.

I don’t know whom your referring to but ignore is starting to become a good thing.

mod note

This thread has descended into nothing more than pointless bickering so I’m closing it

Good luck. Most threads on MR and elsewhere end up in the exact same place. Plus, it brings users and that means ad $ for you guys. Cut threads = lose hits, lose $.

The thread has been full of conflicting agenda though. We’ve got a view in here that if you don’t like the notch or are in any way critical, it’s because you can’t afford it or are paid by google to be negative. That’s complete bollocks. We are all iPhone users here and the X has divided opinion without question. The notch is a feature we’ll all likely end up experiencing, but some will hate its aesthetic value, I know I do much like losing the headphone jack is still a massive pain in the arse for some. If the loss of these features or the introduction of the notch is fine for some, it makes no difference really. None of us are going to be swayed but the opinions still count for the sake of the thread. Most of us don’t have notches on our phones yet anyway so the enjoyment is still alive. Those that love it are going to love it regardless of what is said. I’d hope anyway.

I have seen this too. If there is a post saying someone bought an iPhone 8 because they didnt need the iPhone X, they are subjected to **** like you mentioned. Somehow not being able to afford iPhone X or being able to afford it but not buying it is a bad thing which makes me wonder if this place is full of 15-20 year olds who dont really know how the world functions.

I wish the carriers over here would do buy one get one free deals.
Gotta do the math. The buy-one-get-one-free offer requires both lines be put on Verizon's Unlimited plan for two years. The one phone will run $30/mo for two years. The two lines will run $130 + about $15/mo in taxes and fees. So $30 + $130 + 15 = $175/mo for two years for the deal. Saves you $30/mo for that second phone with the same plans. You can easily save more than $30/mo of the net $145/mo for service by using some of the Verizon MVNOs, instead. Still, it's a nice deal for those committed to new iPhones, Verizon, and unlimited data plans. Way more than I need, though.
