pressure sensitivity, pro quality apps, def the resolution which we ll likely to see updated, wacom also sells pens for ipad, trust me writing is on the wall, and once proven people will never go back to the primitive model of sketching stuff on computer, desktop is there and will always be but ipad is evolving and maturing

drawing/designing etc. with the proper tools on a computer is not "primitive". In fact its the opposite. It allows for very specific input.

In fact trying to accomplish similar tasks on the iPad is primitive and that would definitely show in the end result.

iPads are designed for fingers. Wacom tools are designed for pens and specific inputs. Its a simple as that.

You do realize it's easier to "touch" a remote than it is to stand up,walk over to the TV and "touch" it right ?

You do realize there can be multiple ways to interact with a television, right? Especially one that may run iOS, right? Perhaps there would be certain functionalities requiring interaction, right? You do realize that by making the TV touch friendly that it could nonetheless also be controlled by voice or remote, right?

I'm praying that they take away the redundant home button and add multitouch bezel inputs. Though I bet they just took a 3G/4G model, turned it upside down, and shopped out the camera. The dark bezel is most likely the black from the antenna's plastic cover.. see below.

there ll be pens for ipad, and actually there are in the market, the cost of pro quality tablet is more than an ipad, single touch surface makes a lot of sense for a greater no of people who couldnt use wacom's tools, they need to be reinvented with the time

If you mean Graphic Designers will be using them on the go or at home to produce early drafts of their ideas, then yes I could see that.

That's a bingo. Thanks to iPad 2, I've easily wasted far less paper and pencil on my rough drafts in the last year, than any other year of my career. The more precise and detailed the interface, the less redrawing and refining on traditional materials are necessary.

True. In that case, I'm okay with the removal of the home button. :)

I'm all for removing the home button, but I wonder how they will support the force-shutdown (holding Home and Power buttons), I do that from time to time when it locks up.

ipad is the device of the future for greater part of artist community and there is no denying that

Any idea how soon after the event the new iPad will go on sale? When did they start shipping iPad 2's?

If it's a digital "hidden" home button, it would probably function the same way.

Is it just me or does the line around the edge (what would usually be chrome) look black? Could just be the way the photo is taken but it doesn't look like they have used chrome or brush aluminum there. That or its got one majorly large rubber seal around the glass.

Keyword: Pro quality

Pro equipment cost more because it does more than standard equipment, tablets included. I understand your point of consumers being able to better grasp the creative input of an iPad, but in it current state is simply doesn't do what most pros need, more specifically pressure sensitivity and precise input.

Even the styli being sold for the iPad lack the require precision for serious design work because the iPad simply lacks that functionality. It costs a significant amount of money to build a tablet capable of such functionality, which is why Wacom is in business to begin with.

iPad 2 was announced March 2nd and released March 11th

So maybe we'll see the release of the 3 around the 16th
