Is it just me or does the line around the edge (what would usually be chrome) look black? Could just be the way the photo is taken but it doesn't look like they have used chrome or brush aluminum there. That or its got one majorly large rubber seal around the glass.
Does anyone ready b/f posting anymore? ;)

You dont actually think I'm going to read through all 21 pages do you? I had read that the icon spacing meant it was in landscape, which means it cant be the wifi/3g black bar... ;););)

Keyword: Pro quality

Pro equipment cost more because it does more than standard equipment, tablets included. I understand your point of consumers being able to better grasp the creative input of an iPad, but in it current state is simply doesn't do what most pros need, more specifically pressure sensitivity and precise input.

Even the styli being sold for the iPad lack the require precision for serious design work because the iPad simply lacks that functionality. It costs a significant amount of money to build a tablet capable of such functionality, which is why Wacom is in business to begin with.

lower resolution in current ipad is one hindrance and i would hope they bring in these advanced censors which ll make this device part of toolset for GDesigners...analogy would be back then computers were also complicated n av joe coulnt use one, so things do evolve with time, tablet computing is the future.

Hell yea I do... If you're interested ;)

And i'm pretty sure if you read Gizmodo's comparison that it proves it is in portrait (or provides evidence for close assumption). If i had to bet... id say it's the plastic 3G/4G cover... just looks far too similar.

Kids. I'm gonna poke a hole in your no home button theory.

The invitation is a photoshop job.

Please note the following :

The calendar icon is in focus.
The other icons are not in focus.
The bubbles are in focus also.

if this were a macro zoom photo the bubbles would not be in focus.

And unless Apple can go forward in time the calendar icon shows a future date. Making it a Ps job.

I'm praying that they take away the redundant home button and add multitouch bezel inputs. Though I bet they just took a 3G/4G model, turned it upside down, and shopped out the camera. The dark bezel is most likely the black from the antenna's plastic cover.. see below.

So every time I get the iPad I will be doing actions in this multitouch bezel without wanting to? No, thanks, the bezel is to grab the thing, not to interact with it.

iPad 2 was announced March 2nd and released March 11th

So maybe we'll see the release of the 3 around the 16th

Probably NOT. If the rumors of shipments are true, the iPad will release directly after the announcement. Which would be cool. I doubt all these guarded iPads are shipping here already to then languish in warehouses for a week after the event.

Apple's first two years were kind of a test and then a double take a year later. They figured it would sell a little, then figured it was a fluke, now they know it's a serious product and they need to coordinate it better.

Get the magnetic stripe ready to swipe by afternoon of the 7th.

Of course this has been edited!:D They know how much people are going to analyze this picture for potential clues about the next iPad... they're not stupid they're feeding the fire.

Might be a dumb question. But if they're holding this event on March 7th, how likely is it that it will be released March 7th?

How will we know for sure?

Primarily, if you wanted to camp out the night before to get one, how do you know it's even going to be out the next day before you camp out if it's not officially announced until the day of?

Haha.. no read some of the patents describing the proposed technology. Often there is an area you must touch first on another part of the device to activate it... or it's context specific or button specific. I get your point though.. that would be annying to have to hold a device in a certain manner for it to function properly... errr wait :D

The app store has some of the most advanced censors in history. Maybe you meant sensors ;)

Constant hearing "on". Ready for the command; ie. "Siri you digital slut, crank up the volume".

This would be amazing. It should activate when you say "Siri"....

***iPad on desk WHILE using my iMac****
Me - "Siri, create a doctor appointment on Friday for 9am"
Siri - "Joe, here is your appointment. Should I create it?"
Me - "Yes"

***iPad on counter WHILE my hands are dirty from cooking****
Me - "Siri, start a timer for 5 minutes"
Siri - "Your timer is set for 5 minutes"
Me - "Siri, how much sugar is in an Apple"
Siri - "Joe, there are 19 grams of sugar in an Apple"

THIS WOULD BE AMAZING!! :D:D:D

I can see your point and I agree that tablet computing is the future. Im just saying that whatever the iPad would need to evolve into to be usable as a pro device is already being sold by Wacom.

Either way I want my iPad 3 now. ;)

yes may be part of "one more thing" there ll be ios announcements for sure

Lets hope so

Just wish us in the UK could get locations and maps...doubt it will come in this update though.

not getting the ipad 3 so need something to look forward to ha

What makes you think that'll happen?

Are you forgetting this is Apple you are talking about - These guys will use something if its 100% user friendly. They can make anything user friendly... apart from Rebbecca Black.. I wouldn't even useHER. ;)

LOL too funny...

However its already more user friendly to to swipe and apply gestures on the screen. Using the bezel for this purpose would seem cumbersome and contrary to the overall experience of using an iPad

Where's the back of it? Doesn't it have a back?

Looks like the grid of App icons and folders have also been removed. I believe the whole thing is voice activated and that it floats around following the assigned user (since holding it without a back would be quite hard).

Thanks. What's the best time to sell iPad 2? Right now? I'm a bit nervous about selling not knowing exactly what iPad 3 (assuming that's what they call it) will be and how soon it will be available. But I want to get a decent price for my iPad 2. It's in perfect condition.
