Kids. I'm gonna poke a hole in your no home button theory.

The invitation is a photoshop job.

Please note the following :

The calendar icon is in focus.
The other icons are not in focus.
The bubbles are in focus also.

if this were a macro zoom photo the bubbles would not be in focus.

And unless Apple can go forward in time the calendar icon shows a future date. Making it a Ps job.

I'm a photographer and the depth of field is actually looking very consistent.

LOL too funny...

However its already more user friendly to to swipe and apply gestures on the screen. Using the bezel for this purpose would seem cumbersome and contrary to the overall experience of using an iPad

Indeed, I'd have to agree with you. But perhaps Apple will re-design the iPad next time around which encompasses the use of Touch-Bezeleness.

Purely based on the calender icon is not the best way to prove photoshop. I agree with everything else, but Apple makes their own software so I would think they would be able to create that icon with that date

Obviously there is some photo editing going on here, but why photoshop out the home button? what possible reason would there be for that? Also change the date in the settings - boom, calendar shows new date.

This would be amazing. It should activate when you say "Siri"....

***iPad on desk WHILE using my iMac****
Me - "Siri, create a doctor appointment on Friday for 9am"
Siri - "Joe, here is your appointment. Should I create it?"
Me - "Yes"

***iPad on counter WHILE my hands are dirty from cooking****
Me - "Siri, start a timer for 5 minutes"
Siri - "Your timer is set for 5 minutes"
Me - "Siri, how much sugar is in an Apple"
Siri - "Joe, there are 19 grams of sugar in an Apple"

THIS WOULD BE AMAZING!! :D:D:D

I agree but would rather say "computer" like in Star Trek.

Not to fond of the name SIRI

See = retina
Touch = no home button

this is what i think.

See = Retina
touch = iPad (Touchscreen)

Contrary to the rumors I do not think any hi-fidelity audio will be discussed here. That too would have been alluded to in some way on the invitation. Like See, hear, touch.

There may be a new Apple TV but that and the Audio I can see being its own media even. Similar to the the iPod and music announcements that used to come every fall.

As far as the date, Apple would simply change date on the iPad under Settings.

"The photo is only in focus on the Calendar app, so this means that Calendar will be the focus of the event.

Only 3 fingers are pictured which is in reference to the salute expressing Serbian ethnic nationalism. So expect Apple to have a press conference expressing concerns in eastern Europe."

--

"As you can see there are also 75 bubbles visible in the wallpaper. If you add that to the number of letters in the word calendar, 8, since it's the focal point of the photograph, and then multiply by the number of apps and fingers seen, 6. It comes out to a nice number of 498. This is undoubtedly the new price of the iPad 3"

Those comments made me laugh.

I love all these "just take my money already" replies. The tech specs aren't even known, and people are all ready to order.

Some fanboys would buy a turd if it had an Apple logo on it. :rolleyes:

I'm sure it has been mentioned before, but if that is an actual iPad, that person has pretty small hands and very slender fingers. The point of the finger looks like it would barely cover 1/4 of the calendar icon. I, for example, would nearly cover a normal iPad app icon with the tip of my finger.

Guys...

You missed one important thing.

Apple will be adding a car battery to your iPad 3 to power the dual-LED bar lighting system and they will coat your iPad in Lion pelt for an extra £15,000.

See the impossible and touch the awesome.

With all those posts saying "take my money" I've seen on here, I think you might be right. :D

And Touch...

OK, think about it, they show the retina display and lack of home button in the invitation, which makes me curious if there isn't something of more importance to be revealed. And I guess they hint at it in the invitation too: "We have something you really have to see [retina display] AND TOUCH".

Anybody remembering the Senseg "TACTILE PIXEL" technology?

http://cnettv.cnet.com/senseg-demos-prototype-touch-feedback-technology/9742-1_53-50115714.html

Or much more interesting, TeslaTouch, a technology similar to Senseg's, but developed by DISNEY (yes the Disney where Steve Jobs was a member of the board of directors!!!)

Well, if you ask me, we get to feel what we are touching on the iPad.
And in combination with the new AppleTV, which is for sure going to be revealed there too, you have the perfect gaming controller (and mic for Siri) because you could feel the buttons displayed on the iPad.
Going to be awesome!
