just think guys and girls, this time next week we will know what we are getting....

No, I haven't read any Android forums. I think passion is good, the extreme is idiotic. And there are a few of those here who come to mind. And those who think that Apple users are better than Windows users. And that having a Mac or an iPhone draws respect. Absolutely retarded IMHO.

Well see, you can have a healthy discussion haha....honestly all I've ever seen from you is the opposite.

Yes I agree, there are some here that make you scratch your head thinking seriously, and I can't stand those people either. And then there are people here, who are here for the sole purpose of insulting Apple users, and that's sad no matter how you slice it.

Honestly the disparity is night and day with android forums. I've frequented many just to get news, and I've never once seen an Apple user register there to insult Android.

Heck, just read an article about the iPhone on the internet. all the comments will be android fanboys talking about how crappy iOS and the iPhone is. It's like they troll the web looking for iPhone articles to comment on. While there are trolls on Android articles, its nowhere near as bad.

I stick with my belief that Android users are far more "cultish" and "fanboyish" then any Apple user. They'll downplay every successful thing that Apple does, they'll hate every product that Apple puts out, and they'll make excuses for every flaw in Android.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A5313e Safari/7534.48.3)

October 4th + the 1 on the call icon makes 5.

Iphone 5 is coming!!! :)

You're part of the problem. Fanboyism behaviour exists with many platforms. Whether it's worse with one or the other is not only not important - it is highly subjective. And clearly anyone "pro" one is going to say the other is "more" annoying.

For everyone who has said they hope Jobs dies - there's an Apple fanboy who has wished Ballmer to drop dead. Is it less appropriate because Steve is ill? Again - doesn't matter.

Again - the "turf" concept with technology is ridiculous and obnoxious. There's room for everyone and one doesn't have to put down one to raise another up. Just enjoy whatever device you use.

ha, i've never seen anyone say I hope Ballmer dies. Not saying it hasn't happened, but I can easily show you posts about Steve Jobs that say I hope he dies.

And it's not about being clearly "pro" one. It's insulting an entire userbase because they don't share your opinions. That's dumb. And in my experience Android users do it far more. Like I said, check an android forum. Every news article that is posted will have some dig at Apple. It's stupid.

And I agree with you...it is ridiculous. That's why I can't stand the people who do it. They act as if Google is feeding their children or something. It's pathetic. I use Android and i love android, but I don't try to downplay what Apple has done by saying "it was gonna happen anyway". That's stupidity. Yes it probably would have happened anyway, but it didn't. Apple revolutionized the smartphone industry, and there are people who deny that. And that's dumb. Plain and simple.

it took apple a whole iteration of the iphone (3gs) to align the iphone number with the ios version (the 3g was just named unwisely). They will not - repeat: Not - leave this path anymore. The matching iphone and ios version is just too valuable to leave behind.

The images plainly reveal what Apple is going to do.

The calander image lists "Tuesday", which, as we all know is borrowed from the Latin des Martis, which associates the day with the planet Mars--the fourth planet in our solar system. Couple this with the number four in the image and you get two 4s (or 4S). It's plain to see that Apple will be announcing an iPhone 4S, rather than an iPhone 5.

The second icon shows a clock, which replaced the sun dial centuries ago. This represents the iPhone 4S being powered by the sun via solar panels.

The map shows two intersecting yellow lines which, if zoomed out, would form a cross. If you remember, the original iPhone was dubbed the "Jesus Phone" by many fans. The symbol here shows that the new iPhone will actually fulfill this fanboy wish, in that it will allow the user to speak directly to God.

And finally, the phone image shows a white phone, along with the number 1, which represents the fact that the new iPhone will only come in white for the first few months, likely due to a painting-process error on the black versions, similar to what delayed the white iPhone 4.

It's all so simple. It's right there for everyone to look at; you just need to open your eyes.

Also, the fact that there are four icons shown is further proof that this is an updated iPhone 4.

The plot thin-ens...

Again - you're part of the problem because you keep posting about "them."

Walk away. Meaning - ignore it and don't fan the flames - because no doubt there are people here who own both products, disagree with you and would be insulted by your accusations. Every time you post something like the above - someone who favors Android (they don't have to be a fan boy) looks at your post and sees Apple Fan Boy who is trashing the Android community.

How do you not see that you're helping perpetuate the problem (in this thread specifically).

Google and Android have no relevance to this thread and subject matter. It's quite simple.

NO NO NO, all you guys are wrong, if you total all the numbers shown on the invitation, your get 363. And in the number 363, the 3s make a sandwich around the 6. Which means that the iPhone 5 will have the same design as the current iPhone 4, because the 2 glass panels make a sandwich around the stainless steel band, much like the 3s in the number 363. ;)

such an easy solution, huh? I'm sure you can appreciate that that's not how it works. Whether its an Apple fanboy or an Android fanboy, threads are going to go off topic and be derailed. Me stopping is not going to change anything. I may be part of the problem, but I'm not the problem. These threads are derailed long before I arrive.

The 7th post in this thread which has nothing to do with Android, already mentioned Android...it's sad.

Symbology

All credit to the junior Dan Brown's in the audience! But, just a few points:

1. On the Apple web site, it is singular "iPhone" when we in fact know there are different models--iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS in addition to the color and size permutations in the 4, not to mention the AT&T vs. Verizon models. In fact, you'll notice that Apple references all of the "family" of produces (Mac, iPod, iPad) as singular families, even though there may be multiple models within the respective family.

2. Perhaps what is actually meant (and I'm supposing just like everyone else here) that there is only 1 iPhone--but not that there's only one model vis-a-vis iP5 vs. iP4, but that there is only 1 iPhone (the concept), irrespective of the designation. In fact, if Apple is consistent with the intro of 4 and leaving 3GS, we know there will actually be at least 2 iPhones if there is a 4S or 5 plus the 4.

3. It is also possible that it simply means there is going to be a discussion about the iPhone. That symbol doesn't say phone plus 1, that symbol as all of us who have phones knows, means that you have received a call. This is an invite right? You've received a call from Apple to attend, on the 4th, at 10 Am, at their headquarters.

Every post that perpetuates the sentiment is the problem. If one person derides - but no one comments on their post and just moves along - then it solves and derailment. But you and others can't just let something go. That's "your" issue.

I'm not trying to condescend or slap you on the wrist - I've done it before as well. My point is that it does perpetuate the issue on these forums. Even if it derailed before you arrived, you and I and other can do our part to "move on" and discuss what the thread is really about.

again, such an easy "solution" but not a realistic one by any stretch. Yeah yeah we all know..."don't feed the trolls"...but does not feeding the trolls really work? Does anyone really think if you ignore a troll that they'll bow their heads and run? They won't. They'll just keep trolling. The whole "don't feed the trolls" crap seems like a great packaged solution but it's really not

Bingo, yes, it doesn't mean anything else, people are just reading into it what they want, and it'll go on for dozens of pages.

so why engage? What purpose is there. Anyone who IS a "fan boy" isn't going to be convinced. It's just going to be a senseless waste of time and energy which I am sure (and I) can use in a better way.

And not everyone who engages in the behavior is necc. a "troll" - sometimes people are just passionate and have a differing opinion. Again - subjective term.

So - to support my stance (because we're taking the point of this thread off on a tangent) - I won't be responding again. You can feel free - but that should probably "end" it so we can all get back to the subject at hand.

Agreed, if the upgrade is just an "S", Samsung will be getting my business.

I have a feeling that opinion is quite common. Todays consumer landscape demands a super accelerated Lather, Rinse, Repeat cycle. If it's just another version of last years model on the surface people will not care nearly as much to as they would to completely new design. No matter how brilliantly designed the previous model was.
