Apple Issues Invitations for October 4th iPhone Media Event

happens everywhere not just here. android forums do the same thing. go to one and you'll see people saying things about cults, kool-aid and other stupid things like "i*hone" and "iphans"....its dumb no matter who does it.
I guess I just don't get the point of you taking the time to register on a site just to make fun of fanboys. Like I said, you have the right to do so if it gets you through your day, but it's just like ok we get it. there are apple fanboys. there are also android fanboys, ps3 fanboys, yankees fanboys, red sox fanboys and every other fanboy under the sun.

I bought my iPhone 3G on October 2008 and It is still my main phone as of today. As you might guess, I am in sore need of a replacement as iOS 4 basically made my phone unusable without having to free up memory via SBSettings before any heavy use.
If the iPhone is just a slightly revamped iPhone 4S, I'll just pass and suffer some more until the proper iPhone 5 comes out. Which I'm pretty sure won't be that long after the 4S if it's indeed a 4S they will be announcing.
But I'm really hoping it's an iPhone 5... for my sanity's sake

I agree it's dumb no matter where. But I have never seen anything like I read on the Apple forums. Sometimes I think that it is just done for effect, but what scares me is I think some of these people are serious.

really knows how to get people excited for their products.ha clearly you haven't been to an android forum. that's why i dont register at any of them. heck even android blogs like droid-life. they'll put out an article about the GS2 which by all intents and purposes destroys the iphone spec wise, and then they'll throw in some unnecessary statement about apple fanboys. android fanboys are far far worse then any apple fanboy i've ever seen. apple fanboys are just passionate about their product, some take it to a ridiculous extreme. android fanboys hate apple for no reason, and have gone as far as saying they hope steve jobs dies and other stupid things.
i hate all type of fanboys...but android fanboys really take the cake. "Tryhard" is about as fitting a phrase as I can think of to describe them.

if the iphone 4s/5 has A5 chip, 1gb memory, 8mp camera, etc... then why suffer? go for it.

No, I haven't read any Android forums. I think passion is good, the extreme is idiotic. And there are a few of those here who come to mind. And those who think that Apple users are better than Windows users. And that having a Mac or an iPhone draws respect. Absolutely retarded IMHO.

Notice how I didn't say missed call or voicemail BECAUSE come Tuesday at 10am... Tim Cook will check that notification (blown up on the projection screen of course) and it will be from Assistant. Assistant, is actually Steve Jobs NOT a computer voice. Assistant (Steve's new title btw) will then proceed to give the keynote and intro the new iPhone 5.
Why do you think Steve had to step down as CEO... DUH.

You're part of the problem. Fanboyism behaviour exists with many platforms. Whether it's worse with one or the other is not only not important - it is highly subjective. And clearly anyone "pro" one is going to say the other is "more" annoying.
For everyone who has said they hope Jobs dies - there's an Apple fanboy who has wished Ballmer to drop dead. Is it less appropriate because Steve is ill? Again - doesn't matter.
Again - the "turf" concept with technology is ridiculous and obnoxious. There's room for everyone and one doesn't have to put down one to raise another up. Just enjoy whatever device you use.
Pretty sure the map icon is showing the location of the announcement, 1 infinite loop, if you look the lines on the icon are indicative of the streets in the area.
Also, all of the icons have something to do with the event, the clock displays the time, the calendar displays the date, and the phone icon has a 1, possibly insinuating that there will be only 1 phone involved in the event.
