No, those earphones are way too big, wouldn't fit in our ears... I call a fake.

On the other hand that picture does bring up an interesting point... What if Apple were to release a T-Rex? That would be ground braking.

Wouldn't that be an I-Rex?

I think so... I don't know about yours but my computer monitor can handle millions of colors...;)

DUDE!!!!! How sweet would it be if Apple let you go to one of those color wheel things where you choose the color and brightness of the color and you can choose ANY COLOR POSSIBLE for your iPod.

I am also hoping for a different colored iPod touch... Black is getting old

that would be cool but people would have to custom order online and some parents just wouldn't want to deal with that.

just get a case for your iPod touch

It has that was the posters point, because it has always come out the bottomit must be the touch

actually if you look at the photo at an angle (kind of like when you look at a monitor from the top side or push it all the way back to where it's parallel to the keyboard, basically making the colors look somewhat inverted) you can see 3 yellow blotches somewhat simulating the curved back of the iPod touch. however the headphone jack at the back is the bottom right. and the photo has it at the bottom left.

the Classic has the jack on the top and that's too tiny to be a shuffle and it's shape doesn't match a nano (iPod touch sized nano anyone?). so they either moved the headphone jack and put a microphone on the bottom (Please I want to play Ocarina), or that's really the front of the touch and all this investigation was for nothing.

Maybe the new nano will bew $99 for 16gb and the touch and classic for $199.

I think it's going to be the exact same prices. just double the memory

some say they'll drop the touch to $199 and in turn drop the nano to $99 and drop the shuffle to $50 and create this big domino effect and that makes sense but then how will they drop prices the next time?.

I don't think Apple would ever sell a shuffle for $20. remember that's how much they're worth anyways

iTunes 9 After the 9th Hour of the 9th Day of the 9th Month of the 9th Year . . .

9:09 @ 9.9.09 Buckle up! Getting 64GB iTouch - world's fastest iPod. :)

You don't get it. It's about not having to pre-decide what I want to listen to. I DON'T want to listen to the most-listened songs, or any other selection parameters that a Smart (um..dumb) playlist can give me. It can't predict what I want to listen to when I'm AWAY from my computer, because even I can't predict that!

Tony

well, to repeat what I said in my original post, I'm not saying it's unreasonable for someone to want to keep their entire music library with them (particularly for professional use, i.e. a DJ, etc.)... on the other hand, what I find absurd is that not having a particular song to keep oneself entertained/occupied at any given moment could possibly be earth-shattering enough to justify needing a higher-capacity iPod classic (or complaining about not being able to own one rather than being content with what's currently available).

still, 1) you're obviously free to do what you like with your music regardless of our difference of opinion since 2) music isn't nearly as integral a part of my life as it seems to be in your case. sorry if I unintentionally stirred something up, cheers!

Could we please focus on the original post and not get into these subjective posts about music.

Thanks!

(BTW Rush and The Beatles are not on my list-see how lame this reply is)

I think the "Apple Issues Invitation for September 9th Media Event" headline with the invitation specifically stating "It's Only Rock and Roll But We Like It" opens the topic to anything music... subjective or not.

To reply to somebody else's post...
Beatles would not be out the question, but I highly doubt he'll be bring Paul and Ringo onto the stage at a media event with that title.

Rolling Stones wouldn't be out of the question though. It would definitely one-up Blackberry and the U2 sellouts. :)

Surprise. Surprise.

The big question is will this mark the return of Steve Jobs? Let's hope.

Please God, no Phil Schiller.

I think we're stuck with Schiller until Jobs decides to introduce something evolutionary.

sorry to say it but the era of Steve doing all the announcements is over. He either will be one of many or not there at all. This is to counter the whole "Steve Jobs is Apple, when he leaves/dies the company will fail overnight" mentality that caused a massive drop in the stock prices in a matter of weeks. Apple needs for the media in particular to see that there are other faces and minds at play. having the announcements feature several people are a way to do this.

I just dont know what they will do with the classic if they dont redesign it it will be the first time ever that an ipod kept the same design for more than 2 years.

it is unlikely that much other than a price drop is ever going to happen to the classic. they are shifting away from that design. the only reason they haven't killed the classic is because solid state prices aren't at a point where a 80-100GB nano is possible. but when that day comes, the classic will be a dead man walking

I've been saying this since the first touch was announced... what were they thinking with flash memory???

no moving parts in the storage to break when you drop the dang thing.

will apple stores sell previous gen models at a lower price?

yep. standard procedure. well at least to sell them online. whether the local stores will keep any stock for a few days remains to be seen. course the stores might not have that much stock at the moment to worry about it.

iPhone OS 3.1 Snow Leopard. Based off the new Operating System

The Worlds most advanced mobile operating system. finely tuned

If what they said at the developer preview is anything to go by Snow Leopard is the result of getting the OS X to run on a phone rolled back to the "Full" OS.
Which would mean iPhone OS X 3.0 is already Snow Leopard. 2.0 and 1.0 may have been more from the Snow Leopard team than Leopard team as well for all we know.

I know the quote used is a rolling stones song, but i still think it's a Beatles reference. I'm sure there is a reasonably well known interview from the early days that has survived the BBC archiving process in which one of the four from memory Ringo but maybe John in deadpan Liverpoddlian accents answers a question with that very line.

"I know it's only rock and roll, but I like it"

and before the Rolling Stones made it a song.
I great way for Apple to mess with peoples heads.

P.s. Just noticed the invite is We like not I like it.
sorry for the miss quote.

I think it's still kinda doubtful, but I'm not exactly convinced it's not going to happen.

Maybe it's just a coincidence The Beatles: Rock Band releases that day. Maybe not.

+1

Although I think you meant groundbreaking =P

Still my ? hasn't been answered.

Will Michael Jackson be playing?

Of course, and I think that as his booking agent, I would know!!

our PR firm was supposed to have released this, what have they been doing the past few months!!!!

That was the absolute best tongue-twister I have heard in a very long time :p

Hey Steve.
Yes Phil.
Hey did you realize we are releasing iTunes 9 on 9/9/09?
Is that what next Wednesday is Phil?
Yes it is Steve
damn Phil isn't it just funny how this works out?

Yes I'm sure iTunes 9 on 9/9/09 is a complete fluke. :D

No, I'm pretty sure that when steve was a little boy, a satanic spell was cast over him telling him that he was destined to release the 9th update to a popular computer based jukeboxing system on the 9th day of the 9th month of the 9th year of the new millennium.

Trust me, if Satan knows anything, it would probably be about mildly interesting social network integration, and doubtful BD support into iTunes.

Who said evil immortals couldn't have a Mac? ... Oh, that was you Chuck Norris? I'm so sorry!! I didn't mean anything by that!!! I was ju-

I just ordered a new MacBook Pro and will freak if something new comes out next week. I guess I will just pay the restocking fee and start over:eek:

they just did a refresh in June to go with the back to school promo, its unlikely they will do another one on the laptops now. any computer refresh will be desktops.

There are more than a handful of us to really need/use want one iPod that stores 240GB or more.

Somewhere along the line, Apple has forgotten that people actually want to put MEDIA on their devices!

yes but in the grand scheme, what percentage of buyers are like ya'll with 100GB+ libraries and an obsessive need to have it all in your pockets all the time.

probably about the same amount as the folks that just gotta have a screen with a 5000 dpi resolution and built in blu-ray.

Apple is going to market to the other 95% not the 5% that you guys are. sorry but its the nature of the game

I'd love of course an iTouch with a hard drive,

it's called an ipod touch. not an itouch. and you are correct that it will most likely never have a hard drive. solid state is the way everything is going. computers included. get over it.
