A.I. = Apple Inflation.
Really inflation all around. It's ticking up, and perhaps one of the inevitable downsides.
This is far from inflation. It’s simple supply and demand for a single product category.

I hope his optimism is correct but in the advent of subscriptions and such computers are going back to this modern version of what we had before personal computers where all the software was a kind of subscription from servers and your desks just had a terminal sighI appreciate your optimism, but I think this has an equal chance of largely eradicating personal computing eventually and turning devices into mere appliances that contact the cloud and require subscriptions for everything.
i believe we will see similar price increases as the new iPhone lineup is announced in Sept. I suspect iPhone 18 Pro will increase by $200 or more.I guess I should be grateful that those were the only price changes. I was afraid they were gonna come after the Air, Watch and/or iPhone. 😟😟
Definitely. I know my next computer will be something I build myself. Whether that be Linux or Windows I have yet to decide.This might be an opportunity for google and microsoft to poach customers away from apple
Indeed. Besides that, evil Tim did not give us a deadline for ordering. This shows his greed.I’ve just joined the thread so apologies if someone’s already mentioned this but Apple has also increased the prices at their refurbished store. This feels more like corporate greed than anything else. Why on earth would they raise prices on refurbished devices? It’s not like you’re going to buy the RAM for them now. By that logic, the trade-in value should be increased but that doesn’t seem to be happening. This is a bit disappointing and doesn’t play well with their statement.
Microcenter, but it's in-store.This M5 Max is currently $4099 on the Apple website. Amazon has it for $3299. Does anyone know of any other stores that has it cheaper than this?
Yeah, I’m sticking with my 2nd-gen Apple TV 4K until it dies, which probably won’t be for another five years at least.Agreed. I honestly find it infuriating they are dropping the 1st gen 4k ATV model.
I don't care how old it is. If it's been running tvOS 26 just fine, we should be getting tvOS 27, especially given the market conditions and lack of any other updates for ATVs. The "new" ones are nearly 4 years old!

The lesson is: Buy NOW if you are in the market.
Once 3rd party retailers stock runs out, the new pricing will be everywhere (even on Amazon).

At that price they will sell zero. Problem solved.Apple TV too
Everyone else has raised prices substantially, too. You can't just switch over to Microsoft/Android for an instant 20% savings.Beginning of the end of the Apple ecosystem.
He’ll have enough to step into when his turn comes in September.Tim is definitely taking the hit on his way out so the new guy doesn't have to and then immediately step in dog poo.
Yep. Good lord tho - 200 for a quarter tb upgrade or 500 for 3/4 tb up from base. Wow.It is $799. You might be looking at education pricing.
Thanks, I see microcenter has it for $60 less but that’s a wash if I have to spend time driving there. Now the question is if B&H would price match Amazon’s $3299 price so I could save tax with payboo. B&H currently has all MBP’s out of stock while they update pricingMicrocenter, but it's in-store.
