Does anyone know if they are going to update the ipod touch to 64gb?

double the memory keep the same price and drop the smallest model in favor for the one next to it (8GB iPhone 3G $200. 8GB dropped for 16GB iPhone 3GS $200)

that's what they did with the iPhone and the Time Capsule and hopefully they will with the iPod touch. I just don't see it happening to the iPod nano as in the name it's supposed to be nano and bringing 32GB to that just doesn't make it much nano anymore

my bet is it will be held the day after the back to school offer runs out because they won't want to be giving any new iPod Touches away for free

apple has released new ipods during the back to school promotion before. They simply just didn't include the new ipods in the offer.

Apple TV Rumors?

Can't wait to see what is going on with other stuff, but I want to know if there is going to be any Apple TV update! What has it been? A year since the last hardware update?

I never really saw the point of an Apple TV especially with people who have an iPod

you can just use Apple's $50 Composite/Component AV cables (ripoff) or the cheap $12 flea market ones and use your iPod

I'm not excited for a new Apple TV as my HDTV is only 6 inches larger than my MacBook and the difference isn't worth $200 to me

It has NEVER been upgraded since it was demoed three years ago outside of a hard drive size bump shortly after its introduction. We are all waiting for something huge on the hardware side.

Its a solution in search of a problem.
Never met anyone who wanted to use their portable as input to their home system. Myriads of waay better ways to do that.

I have been hooking my iPod Classic to my TV or my girlfriend's TV to watch a movie or TV show for 2 years, since said iPod and the component cable were released. If Apple added 720p output capability to the next gen iPod I will bite, otherwise I won't. It is the single feature I want the most. Hell, if they add an update to the iPhone 3GS to unlock 720p output capability (I have read online that the 3GS hardware supports that, I think it could be unlocked by Apple if they plan to add this support to the new iPods, just like they unlocked the TV out iPhone a few months after its release, when the iPod Touch was released) that would be the reason enough for me to update my iPhone 3G to a 3GS

I hope so, I want to buy a 1TB version to put all my media on. Streaming from my external hard drive via my mini via my network is just untidy...

Apple better be taking notes....Zune HD is looking mighty good, and I know A LOT of people who are planning on getting one. I'm a Apple guy all the way, but the iPod interface is starting looking a bit dated in comparison.

If you're talking about the standard iPod models, yes ... if you're talking about the iPhone/iPod touch, no ... not a snowball's chance in hell.

Apple has released prior to the end of the promotion before. They simply exclude them from the promo, obviously. It isn't that difficult.

Yep, they did this last year when the promotion ended the week after the new iPods were announced. However, this year, the promotion ends on Sept 8 (just checked the US Apple Store site), so I would think it isn't even an issue. In fact, I would bet Apple new they would have the event around that week anyway when they set up the BTS promotion.

now thats funny:):)

Didn't they just release updated Macbooks, a new iphone and 3.0 amazing what a small company like AAPL can do. lmao

How about an update for the thirty year old 30" ACD ? Why not some 23 or 26 inch ACD sizes that just don't work with MPBs ? Hello, Apple, anybody care about computers anymore ? An i7 tower ?

My predictions (in addition to the obvious):

New keyboards and SL released or release date set

unless those are portable keyboard that you can use to type on the iPod touch with (via bluetooth/USB) new keyboards (if there are any) won't be launched at this event.

Apple is too small a company and doesn't have enough money to introduce more that one product at a time.

30 billion dollars in cash is too small?

same thing I was thinking. Apple always does Keynotes on Tuesdays tho (except WWDC)

WWDC's Keynote is usually on Tuesday.

Since March 2007.

How about an update for the thirty year old 30" ACD ?

You mean four year old?:(

Why not some 23 or 26 inch ACD sizes that just don't work with MPBs ?

Because 23 and 26 are 1920x1200 just like 24 and the current monitor works with all new Macs.

Hello, Apple, anybody care about computers anymore ?

Apple changed their name from Apple Computer Inc. to Apple Inc. in January 2007 at the launch of the iPhone. No, they DO NOT care about computers anymore. :(

My money's on a the beatles being released on itunes Exclusively along with the ipod updates and imac blu ray.

Why are the Beatles such a big deal? Anyone who actually likes them will have bought the CD already

The majority of consumers will not follow the keynote address and won't even know new iPods have been introduced.

My mom has the iPod 3rd gen, and she loves it. When I showed her the 4th gen, she was all "meh." I want to buy her something for Christmas, but she has to -like- it... =P And I doubt a camera addition will be enough. She's got this hyper-powerful digital camera already!

Perhaps the iPods and the new tablet could be linked up and one can play videos on the tablet?

yawn...ipod updates are so boring

edit: actually they should ditch the classic ipod...its looking old and bloated, just beef up the ipod touch capacity and no one will miss it

And the quality of AppleT&T's meager computer offering has been going downhill ever since. I know, I sell them. I wish AppleT&T would spin off the computer business and hire Woz to run it. Seriously. :apple:

The Beatles Are Coming

Two days before 9-09-09 correlating with The Beatles Rock Band. I would bet anything they will be adding the Beatles Library to the iTunes Store. Rock band sells music and the will want it to be available on iTunes!
