Instead of bitching about the lack of something new, you may try to give us an example of whay are you expecting from a simple mp3 music player...

Bitching? How about a clip, like the old nano for the gym? Hard concept?

Changing just colors and charging obscene amounts for outdated tech is typical Apple. But what is shocking - the outdated software on the Nano. Still the same old, pre-iOS7 UI... Just shocking. And truly pathetic.
Obviously the nano (and probably shuffle) are being slowly phased out. This is probably the last update they'lol get. No need spending resources updating an OS for a product that's probably on its last legs.

Quite an impressive update for a product nobody actually cares about.

The iPod Touch still plays a very important role for kids who beg for an iPhone, but parents don't want to take on additional monthly charges. Both of my kids had them before they needed an actual phone. Their friends also had iPod Touches, so it was a good compromise.

Did anyone notice that in the Tech Specs area, the 128GB model says "Apple exclusive capacity"? And that the first image below that shows the buttons being on the wrong side? AND that the image below that shows breaks in the aluminum?

Maybe it's a precursor to a new reasonably sized iPhone so I can replace my iPhone 5 with a new iPhone that isn't the size of a small country. Are there really that few people that don't want to carry around a phablet for my day to day work?

Yes, because 4.7" isn't that much bigger.

Dear Tim Cook,
Please update the iPod Nano OS to allow me to sync my Apple Music offline playlist and my Nike+ (or other running app) with it. I will buy two in whatever color you make, whatever capacity over 16gb, and for up to $200.

I'm surprised they didn't add Touch ID to the iPod Touch. They should have. It's also interesting that they kept the 32 GB iPod Touch around. I wonder what their rationale was for leaving that capacity in the iPod Touch line while removing it from the iPhone?

Shuffle is actually quite expensive. They could have increased the s size to 4GB or included the EarPods, buts its the same thing as it was in 2010. At least the 3rd gen included a 4B option... (loved that design btw)

This is a great move by Apple to bring back memories of how it used to be with their dedicated mp3 hardware. Who remembers these when they first came out? I think I've owned most of them over the years and it's a clever move by Apple to re release the old stuff again like the Touch, the Nano and the Shuffle with minimal improvements or redesign. Reminiscence is now what Innovation used to be for Apple now. Let's move away from cluttering up the range with new products. This is what the people want. Simplicity. And familiarity.
