Wouldn't be hard if Apple got familiar and put a damn SD card in.

If Apple put a microSD card into the iPhone then they couldn't charge more for storage upgrades, because everyone would just buy the 16GB models and put cards in them.

I don't need one, but I find switching guides to make things more complex than they are.

During the Mac vs. PC switcher campaign, Apple sold some weird 3rd party product to transfer your data over to a Mac. They're doing it again by promoting a switching app. I personally like to set things up fresh, and it's so easy to do. When you turn on the iPhone, it tells you exactly how to set everything up. Adding Gmail or Yahoo accounts is no harder than logging into your webmail.

They probably do get calls from people who want step by step instructions, so I guess this is good for that.

I, and many others, have been saying the same thing now for a few years now. I've no idea why they're taking so long.

It would be great to bring back isync...allow it to be the central sync program for everything, on every device.

Could you imagine the chaos when it debuted from everyone who has only used iTunes? They would have to make it look just like the iTunes sync menus for a few years and everyone would complain about having "another app"

What I need for switching again to an Android smartphone is:

-4,8'' screen or less with high end specs
Galaxy S5 (5"), LG G2, etc

-Apple's customer service quality level
For what exactly? Fix your phone? You need to talk to someone? Do you feel lonely?

-Good build quality and hardware design.
Built quality ≠ aluminum

The sony xperia z3 compact, which is the best IMO, lacks the second an a little bit the third

.........

Laggy UI was taken care of by the Project Butter initiative. It debuted in Android 4.1.

Google Project Butter accomplished its “buttery smooth” responsiveness and “speed infusion” improvements via three main additions: triple buffering, which improves coordination and animation synchronization between the CPU, GPU and display; VSync, which improves graphical performance and increases frame rates to 60fps (frames per second); and touch responsiveness, which predicts a user’s upcoming actions of the screen in order to improve load times for those actions.

No breath holding needed. It's already done.

Man, I'm not biased as you can see by my comments, but I've seen the Note 4, the ultra powered best in the world, and transitions between menus and some graphics are a bit laggy sometimes, I suppose it's because its huge resolution.

Hey, my 2000 USD last gen macbook pro has also very laggy animations if you ask me BTW

Apple, first I need:

- Wireless charging
- NFC...oops...you got NFC (capped)now, sorry
- Wifi Direct
- Multi/resizable Window
- Fast charging
- Big and removable battery
- SD Card
- LED notification
- 4K Video
- 2K display

then I will consider it.

The iPhone 4 and later actually does have LED notification and Wifi Direct, and I don't know if the 4K cameras on the Android devices actually shoot better quality than the iPhone's camera does. At least it wasn't like that with my friend's 1080p Galaxy (forget which one) camera vs my iPhone 4 720p camera.

The other stuff are features you'd have to wait for, not that I want all of them. I want the SD card slot and water resistance. Couldn't the system run on internal flash and the user (/var/mobile) off of the SD card? But anyway, I'll probably use my iPhone 5 and buy nothing new unless it gets killed by water.

The galaxy s5 is 5,1 and it's too big as it's the g2. 4,8 is my highest limit. If bezels are smaller, then better. But 4,8 or less

Apple's customer service. Well, they gave me back 150 USD because the shipping of my macbook was delayed 3 days. They sent me a new iPhone for free even before I sent my broken iPhone to them, and by very urgent delivery so 15 hours after my complaint it arrived, having expired the warranty 3 weeks before, an also gave me 2xicloud capacity during 6 months. If I have some problem, it's always the same employee who contacts me until it's fixed. You see, it's quite impossible to beat that.

Build quality is not the same as aluminium, I know that. But I also know, because I owned a S1, S3, S4 and xperia z1, that if it makes plasticish noises when you manipulate it, if the power button falls off, if the voice assistant turns on itself when you plug the usb cable, if... then, it has a poor build quality. And I'm sorry but the iphone feels very solid.

I can assure you I'm the less biased person in the world when it comes to technology. But to each one what it deserves

I wonder if they have another document that will show me how to simulate my Galaxy Note 3 stylus on the new iPhone6?

Or how I can side load apps like you can on Android, or how I can plug in a standard mouse and keyboard into the USB or any of the other 1001 things that Android users enjoy?

No? Didn't think so.

It's not JUST size that makes people use Android.

Oh yes and where is the micro SD card slot to insert my 64GB card?

Also I forgot, how do we change the battery in the iPhone 6? I often take a spare or two with me when I know I will be away from a charger. Any info from Tim on that?

He can stick his iPhone 6 for all I care. They have not addressed any of my issues with iPhone.

Wow, so much anger. No offense, but if you're happy with android, why are you here? Wouldn't you be happier talking about the latest Samsung Note with your fellow android users on Android forums? Maybe if you stopped hating so much, you'd find time to actually enjoy your device instead of trying to justify it to a bunch iOS users who couldn't care less cos they're too excited about the latest iPhones?

Yup. I've never had an issue with iTunes. Works fine for me. Always has.

Lucky. I love the function of iTunes, but it does have issues and isn't quite up to Apple's standards. Sometimes, it won't show my currently playing song. I can't burn multi-disc music CD sets, period, anymore. It says to insert the second disc then rejects it always (a known problem). It sometimes has issues syncing, especially on a Lightning-connected device. It's kinda slow in general.

But yeah, most people who hate it hate it just because it's Apple.

So here is a question. My wife and I will most likely be moving from Android to the 6. We currently have an iMac and Macbook Pro, but I'm unsure the best option for having two iPhones. Is my only option to set up multiple profiles on each computer that we have to switch between?

You can choose what to sync from iTunes, iPhoto, etc. and which Mail accounts to sync. The only issue could be contacts. If you don't want your wife's contacts on your phone, you'd have to just not sync them with the computer.

One Mac, unfortunately, has to be the one Mac the iPhone syncs with. iCloud can solve part of that problem, but for music, you still need to sync with that one Mac.

Your note 3 must be incredibly boring for you to post this.

This thread is hilarious. I'm amused by the rage that some of the android users in this thread have.

Nice try with the concern trolling, though. Maybe next time.
Eh. I played with my friends LG G3 for a bit and had some random jitters/lag. My iPhone 5 has zero lag, though it's not quite as snappy.

The slight lag on Samsung's devices are Samsung's doing, not Android's. Any manufacturer who skins Android always causes it to take a bit of a hit in the GUI department.

If you ask me, I don't know why they bother. Their devices would perform so much better if they would stop skinning the hell out of it and just leave it as Google intended.

It's obvious Cook is going full steam ahead trying to win iOS market share back. iOS 8 is much more open and the phone itself now finally comes in multiple sizes.

I just hope this change of heart at Apple didn't come too late...

Come too late for what? To sell multimillions in phones?

Yes. In that case, it's too late. :(

Actually, I'm pretty sure most of the raging is coming from Apple users in this thread, but... you see things however you want to see them.

I feel sorry for people like you tbh. Like, you really have nothing better to do than to go on forums for things you hate and rant about how much you hate them.

>implying people want to switch from Android

Well, I'll be one. Very underwhelmed with the Android ecosystem and my Galaxy S5. It's a nice phone but still needs weekly reboots, still gets "hung up" and stuttery too often, and the ecosystem is so fragmented it's not funny.

Cause the "Stock Google" experience is ugly just like the majority of their UI direction. Apple is not much better with the flat crap but it at least makes sense!

Well, considering they *all* skin them with the exception of Motorola and the Nexus line, I guess Android fans are SOL when it comes to laggy devices.

And no, Project Butter didn't fix this. The LG G3 is a great example. Just a beast of a phone in terms of specs, but laggy as all get out. Same with the Galaxy S5, and on this one it's a stretch to even suggest its "slight lag."
