I was looking at 13" inch, but no high-res screen and graphic card is dealbreaker. I still can't believe it doesn't have dedicated graphics card! And they call it 'Pro' computer lol

I'll go with the expensive 15" inch this time..

If it wasn't $600 more expensive I'd do the same. ew.

way too expensive.

What a massive disappointment! Sure, those new CPU's may be fast but what the point when you've got a traditional HDD in there?

I'm sorry, I'm really disappointed with this upgrade. :(

I'm happy with the update but the graphics card is a major let down. Still 256?! I agree, the base 15 should at least have 512 by now. I'm planning on switching back to Mac from my Asus G53jw (only had for 4 months) for other reasons besides gaming, but I'm sure going to miss the 1.5gb Nvidia card in this bad boy. Will 256 even be able to play Battlefield 3 when it comes out? Well, let me rephrase that, can it play it and not look like absolute crap?!

I'm still an Apple fan and respect them, but their website with all the descriptions of the new stuff makes me nauseous. It's so pretentious. They're good updates, but they're nothing new in the general laptop market. I'm sick of them milking every single thing as long as they can.

How strange! Just waiting for my asus G53jw to arrive today! Was going to send it back if the macbook pro update was worth it but to be honest i think i'll stick to the asus. Love apple, i have a iphone 4, ipad and did have a imac but the macbook pro is just not worh the premium.

Was hoping for a redesign, but the way Apple website presents it, it all looks great! The thunderbolt idea in my mind is brilliant, could you imagine if it was the standard a few years from now? Anything from TVs to arcade system boards would use it to connect to monitors, devices, etc.

What absolute *******s.

They really screwed the UK over with this.

USD Price for the LOWEST spec one: $1199

This converts to GBP at £740 (todays rate)

Apple are selling it for £999! :eek:

You'd have to be a complete moron to be willing to pay that for such a poor spec 13" model!

They really are taking the piss big time with those prices. For another £300 you can buy a Mac Pro for goodness sake!

That's always been the case with uk v us Apple prices.

The entry level ipad was $499 in the US, but £429 in the UK. We always get shafted in the UK. On the plus side, the new entry level 13" Macbook pro is £20 less than the previous entry one.

Personally, I'll just stick with my 2008 aluminium Macbook. The specification difference and price just doesn't justify a change for me.

Great specs EXCEPT for the 5400rpm hard drives. Are they serious? Really? 5400rpm? These are $2000+ laptops, NOT some cheap $399 Walmart door special.

Yep.

I am sorry to hear that, but what did you expect?

MBP 13 starts off with 320 GB HDD. Apple cannot afford to put in 320GB SSD with price tag of 1199 dollars.

MBP go as high as 750GB. Again, that's too much for apple to put in as SSD.

They had to make a choice.

IF you want more performance, you have to give up storage. If you want to have a storage, then performance goes away.

Apple cannot get away with what they did with MBA on MBP. 64GB, 128, or even 256 GB SSD is not enough for pro users.

I can't understand why they didn't upgrade the 13" screens to match the res on the 13" MacBook Air. Doesn't make any sense to me. Guess I won't be buying after all.

Im currently debating between both 13in models and the low end 15in model. It will only cost me between $108 to $160 per month so its hard to decide on which to get. I don't want to spend more than for what I need.

Price = same as the macbook pro 13" low-end.
Screen =15"
CPU= 2,4ghz core i5 (arrandale ofc, not SB.), which I think has a better performance than the 2,3ghz i5.
GPU = nvidia 330m 1gb.
Ram = 6gb ddr3.
Hard drive = 500gb 5400rpm.
Windows 7 (basic or? i have the ultimate now anyway...)

Cmon this upgrade is *****... just a little bit better processor than before, people say the gpu is worse than 320m too. so what the frack?
I still wanna buy a macbook 13" though, maybe the new white, or a refurbished mbp last gen. I mean its cheaper than the current and the same performance.
