Would anyone know if the push services work to push email... to your mac when the application is closed etc..?
I do apologize... must have gotten you confused with another poster... Im 23 ... due to get to work in an hour and half... and havent been to bed... Perhaps a 30 min cat nap is in the works. (as I have already posted and still havent left)Incorrect there, I'm 16, on summer vacation, fully nocturnal now, and am in the PST time zone.

Not quite sure what you're getting at. If the app is closed how are you going to read it? As far as I'm aware, when the app is launched it syncs with the cloud, but pushing can't defy the laws of physics - a pushed email can't get onto your computer without it connecting to the cloud - which means having your computer on and your app launched to read it.

I was trying to say like instead of opening Mail.app on startup it would be nice to get the notification when new mail comes in even if the app is closed.

Where would it tell you this...? I doubt having your calendar tell you that you have mail is appropriate.
Well, Mail.app isnt getting mail pushed yet.
he means getting the notification symbol on the mail icon, like SMS - right?
