How can you access your iDisk if you can't log in? Perhaps you know another way, but iDisk, Sync, and B2MM all require a login via the preference pane, amd I not correct?

Idisk just works. Works fine when I select it in the finder window. I can also access all my files using a web browser: idisk.mac.com/username

I've had four "$1.00 pre-authorize" charges to my debit card after signing up for MobileMe! When they screw up the billing to, I'll be REALLY PISSED!

How do you enable push?

I sent an email from another account to my .mac account. mail.app didn't see it, iphone with 2.0 software didn't see it. With mail.app a manual connect brought in the mails - they had arrived a couple of seconds after I'd sent them.

Others are saying that this functionality works - what's the magic switch to enable it? At the moment it all seems a bit manual. It's a strange definition of push where you have to manually go into the app to see if you've got mail.

in iPhone 2.0 there is two things you need to do. first go to settings and make sure that it says push under fetch data.

Settings > Fetch New Data > Push

it should be set that way by default. Then you need to scroll down in setting to Mail, Contacts, Calendars and select it. Then select your .mac account (or MobileMe) and you will see sliders next to mail, contacts, calendars and bookmarks slide them all to one and you are done. It will prompt you that it will delet all data and then sync it back from MobileMe, so you might want to wait till MobileMe becomes more stable. I had to wait 20 minutes before I could get my info back.

Setings > Mail,Contacts, Calendars > (your .mac/MoblieMe account) >Slide the sliders to on.

Hope this helps.

i cannot login... mobileme says, that my login information are wrong.

who has the same problem?

Work Around

I haven't had the time to read over 1000 posts, so I hope this post is new, helpful info.

I have dealt with Servers, both Novell and Microsoft for years. Also websites, website authoring and support, along with multiple ways to handle email.

I have never used just 1 email account.

I have some Domain Names of my own. Right now, I have several with services like GoDaddy.com

With that particular one, as with others, they allow Domain Forwarding. Also, they have a major email account and you can set it up to forward certain email addresses, or ALL email to another mailbox somewhere.

Yahoo Mail also offers email Forwarding. You could set up an account with Yahoo Mail (which also has push email for your iPhone), and forward it to you address@me.com.

Then, if me.com goes down for any reason, you could go into your Yahoo Mail account and turn off email forwarding. Then you could check it with your favorite email program, or go online with your browser and check your email.

Yahoo also allows email Alias addresses that you can do away with when you start to get a lot of spam and you can just create another address and then use it.

Hope this helps for your future planning.

I think that as long as you were signed in before the downtime you may be able to get to your iDisk.

If you aren't signed in, then try using the "Other User's iDisk" feature.

This is a major upgrade.
Give Apple some time.
Please stop whining.
It's gonna be OK. :apple:
(and if you got your business running on .Mac then I wonder what kind of shop you got and why you don't have a business-server)

5 Seconds uptime

Not in a hurry here, just had 5 seconds of uptime :) I'm still confident me.com will be ready soon...

it was up and running (for 5 minutes)

after trying, unsuccessfully, for the past hour, i was able to log into me.com and check my email. everything seemed to be working OK before it pooped out again and returned me to the mobileme "video tour" page after 5 minutes of poking around.

during that time, it felt pretty fast, and the interface is much more slick than the previous mac.com email.

oh well, i hope it's up and running for me later tonight, so i can play around with everything when i get home from work!

Had it for a sec. looked great! If the site's down for 24 hours, I'm definitely suing Apple: $99/365= $0.27. Who's in?;););)

I still can't get the MobileMe software update, it's not showing up....?
It wont show up until MobileMe is working correctly from the preference pane.

It checks to see if MobileMe is active (because the software is set to assume that .mac still exists until MobileMe is active).

Due to the errors, it still thinks .mac is the current service so it wont offer the update.

I'm getting this mental picture of "MobileMe" dipping its foot into the water and then all of a sudden it sees a million little piranhas in the water so it runs back to shore again.

30 seconds of uptime here, 5 seconds there...
